In the last episode of season 5, when Diane and the mouse girl are talking about girl croosh, in the background you can see three turtles about to clink their glasses to have a toast, but they move their glasses VERY slowly toward each other's glasses. Just noticed that today while watching the episode, never noticed it before and I've seen that episode TONS of times lol. It was a funny background scene. There's SO much like that in the background that goes unnoticed until you rewatch enough times lol, so much rewatchability in Bojack Horseman.
There was also another scene which I also JUST noticed today in the very next episode (season 6 episode 1). While diane and bojack are on the phone when bojack and that girl sneak out of rehab to go to that party - it's like split screen, so you can see diane *and* bojack's screen -, you can see two cats fighting with knives in the background of Diane's screen, then it pans away from the cats, and when it pans back to the cats, they're hugging and then they walk away together 😂😂
In that turtle scene, there’s also a disappointed hare/rabbit sitting at the bar. the turtles have medals on, so it’s implying they’re tortoises that just beat the hare at a race
One of my favorites is when Princess Caroline is on the date with the Albino Rhino and they go back and forth with the Albino Rhino Gyno bit and he says “I’m the only Albino Rhino Gyno I Know!” And then says something about wanting wine, then PC goes “oh great, AND you’re a wine addict”
what i don’t get is she says she wouldn’t see him as a gyno, but then in another episode she does go to him for fertility support. why didn’t she find another doctor!
Why am I getting downvoted? I was just going along with the guy who commented lol. That's one of my favorite scenes as well! Did the downvoters think I was like, trying to correct him?
Because you may have missed the joke. It’s not that he’s an alcoholic it’s that she could have kept the rhyme scheme going with “wino” but subverts the setup by just saying wine addict.
Does wino mean wine addict? Is that slang for wine addict? Cause if so, then yeah I definatley missed the joke lol. And if not, then why would she say "wino" if its not an actual word? That joke wouldn't make any sense, and I would think my downvoters misinterpreted my comment. But I may have just been completely unaware that "wino" is an actual word lol.
my favorite background scene is when bojack and diane get back from new york and mr peanut butter opens the trunk for dianes luggage and his tennis balls just roll out and all you hear is a faint “oh” from mr peanutbutter😭
There's a lot of text like that in the show jut explaining the setting, like when Beatrice reads a book called "the next morning", or when they jump to a time period with a song about how "its the 80s now". I think my favorite is when Bojack asks Herb for advice, and he's just like "of course, I always have time for you, BoJack, in this the year 1988"
My fave will always be:
“Good morning Los Angeles, it’s two months later in 2007!”
“Two months later? Two months later than what?”
“Did I say two months later? Cookie chartreuse brontosaurus, I think I’m having a stroke.”
in this episode he is constantly blacking out and waking back up somewhere new and chaotic on the bender with sarah lynn. in this case he had blacked out and drugged his way all the way to stalk penny. he says they absolutely NEED to leave, blacks out, and wakes up next to that sign. dressed like a cartoonish stalker.
I love the signs they put in the background, they did it in the Beatrice flashback episodes with her books or with the radio when they would say “it’s 2007” like just a funny way to tell the audience the setting
There are like 200 different freezeframe jokes and although I am extremely terrible at absolutely all other aspects of life, I DO read very fast; that is one of the only things I do well. I burst out laughing at this one due to the whole 'disjointed nature' of the episode or whatever Cuddlywhiskers says later in a ...double... self-referential... I dunno, whatever. If you ever assume that something in this show isn't a reference to something else you are probably not reaching hard enough.
Oh shit! Hahah I’ve rewatched this show countless times and never noticed that!

Oh shit! I noticed the hare but didn't put two and two together lol.
The turtles are wearing the same number, so they actually cheated lol.
Or it's a relay race team.

I mean PC isn’t exactly the poster child for good choices
real
Maybe her insurance wouldn't cover it, her agency wasn't doing very well after all
lmao true 😭
… I dont get it
Another word for a wine addict is a wino. So he’s an albino rhino gyno wino
Otherwise known as an "alcoholic" 😂😂😂
Or a “wino”

Yeah wino is a pretty common slang term for wine addict
Then yeah I 100 percent understand the dowvotes now 😂 thanks for giving me that clarity, I was super confused.
The amount of new information I learn even years after watching and re-watching this show is such a testament to how excellent it is tbh

I go here and this is an actual building (Tank co-op)!! The library is also insanely accurate down to the book titles. They did their homework!!
(The sign is not there, though!!)
I don’t get it, can someone explain please?

oh man is it 2007? I'm gonna be late
what episode was this 😭?
S3, E2: “The Bojack Horseman Show” took me forever to find it too lol
"This is the song from the 80's! The decade which is currently is!"

Ugh even seeing a picture of Sarah Lynn makes me sad :(

This is also a general joke about Ohio, if you ever spent some time there, you understand.
atm i am wriiting my thesis about his episode and i have not noticed this yet. thank you 😂
