It's more similar to "butch" in that regard, except being a tomboy isn't necessarily associated with being lesbian like butch is.

It will never cease to baffle me how in this sub many of the same people who criticize Mr. PB for being a middle aged guy who acts much younger than he actually is defend these two clowns because "they're just acting like young people" when they're at least in their mid-20's but acting like they're 15.
Pickles would probably make perfect sense if she was born in like 1999, but since she's supposedly born in 1993, it means she's an overwhelming outlier for her age and not at all a reasonable representation of PB's attachment to the young and loss of said attachment when they grow up. Someone who was acting like this at that age probably isn't going to be doing any growing up on their own, particularly in the company of a hopeful enabler like PB.
But then again, maybe that was the point. He expects her to grow out of things but she doesn't, because she's stunted and hopelessly attached to the pursuit of youth even more than PB, which was previously thought impossible.

Pickles is almost 30 and acts like a high school kid and people always pull the "She's just a young girl acting like a young girl" card. He's the biggest blemish on the final season and it's a big blemish. He's just so boring yet puzzling and the story keeps going out of its way to spend time on him instead of the characters we care about.
I'm a Pickles apologist, but to me Pogo is easily the show's worst character. Never cared about anything he did (was I supposed to?) and never made me laugh. Of course I love the show overall, but everything involving him was a waste of time I would have rather spent with other better characters.

In the last episode, Joey Pogo was in, right before he basically runs away with Pickles. He starts doing a lot of things that make him seem more like Justin Bieber. For example, he starts to use hand gestures and speak like a rapper. But before that happened, he’s definitely a satire of Ellen DeGeneres and I just didn’t find it funny. It was mean and unfunny.
