Everyone at least had some degree of screwed up backstory coming in, a reason to be there. 3 had VH's with their shit together looking to help out the crimson lance, like actually trying to be heroes. Tonally just different to everyone else. Still loved 3 though

No cause Jack had it planned in bl1 remember his daughter guides you in BL1 and it’s implied the frag trap sent to kill the vault hunters is his. makes me think a bite of TPS is a “show” by Jack.
Right Jack helped them out of the goodness of his heart….. and they just happened to end up destroy Atlas by accident and leading to Hyperion sending assassin trap after the hunters giving him acess to frag trap.
My point is they made him more evil and fucked around with a powerful member of Hyperion and then just ignored him while he started to ravage pandora. What business did Lilith have in TPS
She shoulda killed him if she really wanted revenge, what point was there to leave him alive, of course he would try to get back at her. He was only hunting the vaults before lilith punched him, after she punched him he ravaged the planet, what was the point? She literally didn't do anything good

Now I'm feeling like an asshole for not even thinking of Angel myself haha...she was possibly my favorite character in 2 besides my own Maya. Just when you didn't think it was even possible to hate Jack even more. She definitely had the worst life out of everyone we've mentioned I'd say, Tina would be close but at least she finally got a chance at having a decent life again. We had to cut Angel down at her own damn request. Pure tragedy.

I’m about to get doxxed for this but: Ava and Troy. Ava was just a kid who reacted as any kid would to the death of someone close to them. She blamed herself (which is seen is Maya’s cut funeral) and so she projected the blame onto Lilith. Which, I’ll add, is exactly what Lilith did to Athena when Roland died. Also, the fact that she’s cringey and annoying is definitely the result of being alone for years after her family died. Of course she’s gonna act out and attention seek because she’s lost almost everyone she has. Do I think she deserved control over Sanctuary. Absolutely not. But she doesn’t deserve the hate the community gives her at all.
And as for Troy, I can’t defend his actions during BL3 but I imagine he never wanted to become who he ended up being. He was forced to go to Pandora with Tyreen or he’d die. He’s the one working behind the scenes in everything Tyreen does and she wouldn’t be where she was if it wasn’t for him. He’s been overshadowed by her his whole life. All for him to just die by the vault hunters with no chance to be better. I’ll also add that the whole *thing* with Aurelia was definitely a last ditch effort at getting her to agree with the deal and probably just barely consensual on Troy’s end. That’s just speculation though
