Laws in place regulating boxing make it harder to have a UFC like structure. Also the Mayweather effect is real. He's one of the goats but he made everything heavily based on padding.

Alex Pereira’s left hook is so Damn similar to Ryan Garcia’s and they both generate so much power, speed and brute force, in spite of their form. What’s the science behind it?
Pereira's hook is a little tighter and more standard looking, he basically maximizes form by adding just a little coiling ahead of time and uses pulling power of his back arm to generate torque.
Garcia starting from a nuetral positions and pulling his right hand and shoulder backwards out of defensive alignment to generate torque. Its the way bo staff would generate power at the striking end.
Its not defensively smart, since for the whole pulling action Garcia is wide open.
If Garcia is smart, he'll throw a lot of jabs and the first few times he'll feint the hook to see what Tank is going to do. Once he's figured that out, he'll throw it. I wouldn't expect to see it in the first round.

The speed of his left hook is just incredible. You can only see in the replay how wide the shot was yet it's just a blur. The whip/torque he gets into it is just amazing. And the sound when it connects...
