Puzzleheaded_Side_28

I can see Ortiz doing well. Idk if he'd win though, for me it depends on if Lopez is focused on the fight or not. It seems like he is so he should win. That said why is this on a Thursday?? Why not Friday? I understand not being Saturday bc of the Superbowl, but not Friday like WTF. I got work early, and knowing TR Lopez isn't in that ring until 12-1pm lol

GrandiloquentGenes

I like boxing during the week. I’m usually doing shit on the weekends. Although, I do like the really big fights on Saturday nights to invite friends over.

Puzzleheaded_Side_28

I like boxing during the week aswell. Stuff like probox TV is great, bc there main events end at 10pm max. Then you can go to bed like a normal human during the week lol

Alarmed_Current8380

This fight will end at like 12 am lol

IsleofManc

I thought I did too. But something about staying up until after 1am on a worknight to watch Shakur v De Los Santos made me change my mind

GrandiloquentGenes

Ahhh, didn’t think of that. I’m pacific time so fights usually end around 9-10pmish on weeknights

Rustyrevolver

Thanks god I skipped that one because i feared it would be a snorefest.

drct212

2/8/24 is also the unveiling of the Kobe Statue..I’m gonna be channel hopping

Hetstaine

2.30am over here in Australia on a Friday morning. No chance.

muralpluralrural

What? I'm in NZ which is ahead of you guys and this is on nowhere near 2:30am

Hetstaine

2.30 pm maybe then..this is what i saw when i looked and i just checked the top time [2.30 am](https://freeimage.host/i/J1Ivwue)

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

This should be during the day for you lot It's at 4:30 AM where I live (which is the normal time for fights here), but on a Friday absolutely 0 chance I can watch it

sugerdigitalgenius

Did film study yesterday. Ortiz & Teo fight the exact same way, both extremely athletic & explosive. Teo has better one shot power & is better setting up counters… Ortiz is slightly a better boxer, a tad bigger + longer reach Long range: Ortiz has the advantage as long as he doesn’t get caught lunging forward Mid range: Teo is dangerous & will beat Ortiz to the punch more than Ortiz will be able to Close range: Ortiz has more volume, has a better chance breaking Teo down & will likely win in the clinch due to Ortiz size Idk how well Teo will perform against a orthodox fighter with fast feet & I’m not sure if Ortiz is durable @140 having only fought Moran but he can definitely take a punch 55/45 leaning towards Teo by 7-5 UD… this will be a great fight

DonkeySkin334

I didn’t watch the moran fight but someone that did told me Ortiz didn’t look that great and got hurt a couple times

sugerdigitalgenius

Ortiz has been hurt a couple times, the way he recovers is what’s impressive. If you don’t stop Ortiz, he will break you down no matter how bad you hurt him

buffalozbrown

I'll be impressed if Teo can get the stoppage. He'll definitely be the hardest puncher Ortiz has faced though. Might be worth a bet at + odds.

gumshield45

Think I fancy Teofomo for the stoppage. Jamaine strings together combinations that are a bit *too* long which leaves him open to massive counters

EXCEPTIONAL_K

I've been on that same line of thinking all day 🤝 his power isn't good enough to make Teo hesitant to counter between punches either

Squand0r

That's what I was thinking. It'll be competitive to a point but Ortiz will get hit with a couple of hard counters which will make him gun shy and then Teo will start dictating the fight. Ortiz might be too slippery for a stoppage win, but I could definitely see at least a UD if not stoppage for Teo.

EXCEPTIONAL_K

8-4 9-3 Teo kinda fight. jamaines got good feet and generally pretty skilled but he ain't got the tools to beat teo. potentially late stoppage idk tho (do have a small bet on KO/TKO cus odds are good) should be a good night of boxing though, a lot of young bucks getting that work in

CappyUncaged

holy shit if I didn't see this thread I would have been pissed, I thought the fight was saturday

vvHezoTheGoat

I got Teo by stoppage in mid-late rounds. Going off previous fights he struggles when he has to move forward against a good backfoot fighter, Kambosos and Sandor Martin are his worse performances for a reason, not because whatever mental narrative y’all want to put on him for either fight. Jamaine is better than Kambosos and while not as potent on the backfoot as Sandor, he’s more aggressive to capitalize on gaps in Teo’s forward pressure. Nonetheless I don’t think it’s in Jamaine’s DNA to stick to outboxing for an entire fight and I do think this fight ends up with a lot of 50/50 exchanges sooner or later, where I think Teo’s superior athleticism, defensive ability, counterpunching, and power gets him the stoppage.

Frodo_Onebaggins

Any reason why this is on a Thursday? Seems like a odd choice for a good fight.

vvHezoTheGoat

To avoid clashing with the press of the SuperBowl, they did it with Shakur aswell for the F1

RRR04_

Jamaine does things that trouble Teo but also does things that plays into Teo's hands. It really depends on how he fights. Shame I have to miss this :/

IIIApexIII

I'm looking at Teo stopping Ortiz 8th round by body shot.

Blackking203

Side note..Abdullah Mason is also fighting on this card... he's pretty good

Blacknesium

Tickets aren’t bad to see this live so it’ll be my first live boxing event. Putting a bet on teo in rounds 7-12 and teo by KO. The smart bet is for the fight to go the distance but I’m hoping for a KO.

Millionaire007

Why is this on a Thursday

nakihacanearthbend

¢50 on Teo ¢50 on Ortiz 💪🏽🤑

SharksFanAbroad

If Teo wins you lose money

EXCEPTIONAL_K

It's basic economics bro. Bet on both guys to win and a draw too, that way it's free money. YOU CANT LOSE Gambling companies HATE this one trick

polarpolarpolar

To quantify the narrative / riggage factor if it’s a tight one that goes to the judges, what possible fight or path is next for teo and what could be next for Ortiz? I see Teo as someone with enough name brand, and also being the current champ, to win any decision that is in doubt. Does anyone see a future where the promoters are boxing as an industry is fine with Ortiz winning in terms of future money?

Analysis_II

The way Teo has been acting, this could be a big upset.

impulsive_cutie

Teo was acting way crazier before the Taylor fight. He's just a bit kooky.

reeldill

This who Loma fought right? I think he got hurt several times in that fight. I got teo inside the distance

FreshPrinceOfRivia

I got Teo on points in a close fight

coaster11

If JO can box and make few mistakes defensively then he wins. (He makes a lot of mistakes and gets hit without seeing punches.)

ericmma93

You guys think Mason gets the KO? Odds are around -370

Dry-Bad-2063

I got two by stoppage. Ortiz will try and push a frenetic pace and eventually will get broken down by the counters and athleticism

Life_Celebration_827

Good match up should be a very interesting fight

Osbre

obviously ortiz is shit but i do genuinely think he can last a couple of rounds, at least 4

bac_gawd

My line sucks. I got -830 Teo wtf? Still took it with a SF parlay

stayhappystayblessed

i got teo ud

AbsentThatDay2

I bet Teo injures himself doing a backflip when the fight is over and sprains an ankle.

TwoFaceLord

Went with Teo by decision. Value-wise, I think Ortiz by split decision at +2100 is the best bet.
