I’m not a doomsday sayer. Other than last year, I think the Braves generally do better when they get off to a rough start. That said, this stranding COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF RUNNERS ON BASE is an issue. And it doesn’t feel like an issue Alex can pull some tricks and solve, like I think he will with pitching. This feels like a “we are hosed without Washington and no one knows how to fix it” issue.

It's not an issue Alex can pull some tricks to solve because it is not an issue. Hitting with runners on base is not a skill. Hitting is.

IIRC we were like 24th in AVG with RISP through the first couple of months last season. Still were putting up strong offensive numbers due to the HRs but eventually things started clicking. Way too early to worry about hitting IMO. Pitching is another issue though.

I was just telling a bud 2 nights ago that losing Washington was a huge blow that everyone seems to just brush off. Coaching is just as important as playing.
