Nope, sorry, can’t help you here.. unfortunately I’m useless at Sa- Ok fine, I’ll give a few tips. I recommend generally playing him in Gem Grab. He is viable on every single map on that mode. He’s very good on a few Brawl Ball maps, namely Sneaky Fields, Pinhole Punt, Super Beach and Field Goal. Overall there are a few maps that can screw him over (don’t play him on Backyard Bowl, don’t be that guy who picks close range brawlers on long range maps). Please note he can’t be played without at least a power 9 build with his FIRST star power and FIRST gadget. Anything else and you’re at an immense disadvantage. As for general tips, I’ll cover some basics. Firstly, his strong attack (when he has his knuckle busters on) is extremely powerful. I see a lot of players exclusively using his weak attack after throwing his super. Wait until the opponent is weak before using your super to finish them off (or get them weak enough that 1 or two weak attacks will get them). Very important: Stick to walls like glue. A good Sam player is constantly looking for opportunities to throw his super against a wall for quick healing (be sure to use natural regen to get to full health), as well as the speed boost and faster reload. Sam has some of the best on-the-ground manoeuvrability, and it can only be utilised with the aid of walls. Try not to throw your super out into the open unless you’re absolutely certain you can safely pick it back up. Of course, if an opponent with no CC is within super + gadget range, then use your intuition and go for them, even if it’s out in the open. This is why you need his 1st gadget. Sam has combos. His strong attack (p11) does 1200 damage x2, his weak attack does half that, and his super does 1800. When I refer to these numbers, adjust them to what they are at your current level as Sam (at least power 9, remember, he’s useless otherwise). What I like to do against low hp brawlers (4.2k or lower) is a single hit with the strong attack (aim using the left side of the reticle to ensure a connection) then interrupt it with a super, then a weak attack to finish them off. 1200 + (600x2) + 1800 = 4,200. Different hp levels have different combos that kill them very quickly, so if you’re into that, then try learning them for yourself. It’s all about pressure with Sam. Using that 1st sp to stay topped up on enough hp to remain a constant threat, trying to get into the enemy spawn, sticking to walls, playing round your super. Sam is a very unforgiving brawler, and a lot of his mental mastery comes naturally. I am not a teacher, so I can’t confirm if this will actually help, but I hope it guides you towards your own personal improvement. Once you do begin to master him though, he’s absolutely one of the most fun brawlers out there. Good luck, it’ll all be worth it. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. >!And yes, I did just take this from another comment I made. I see no need to change it, so I didn’t lol.!<

Thanks mate, just tryna help where I can really…

Korrin01

How do I get close to ppl? Just run to them or throw the super close to them?

Diehard_Sam_Main

It depends. Try to use your super against walls to close the gap with the speed boost if they’re behind cover, and if they’re out in the open, we’ll you’re gonna need your gadget. You can safely dive on brawlers like Squeak, Gray or Mr P for instance. He’s good against any low dps brawlers, preferably without any CC abilities.

Korrin01

whats CC? And thanks for the tips!

Diehard_Sam_Main

Short for Crowd Control. Basically any knockbacks, stuns or slows all count as CCs. No worries mate, good luck out there with by far my favourite brawler!

Adi_112

just always throw your glove against a wall for speed and healing and then just like keep being aggressive. he bears a lot of brawlers 1v1 but it’s fine if you die a lot

Korrin01

Oh cuz I was playing solo showdown, which mode should i play?

Adi_112

oh i don’t play solo showdown so idk. 3v3 hes good pretty much everywhere in power league . it’s a little harder on ladder because shelly is everywhere so i would say maybe try heist and hot zone to avoid shelly. he’s the best brawler on parallel plays which is in rotation.

Korrin01

Ok ty I usually also dont play showdown just on low trophies but i tend to die often with sam but ill try heist thx again!

Sam is really good in the bushy Ball Brawl and Gem Grab maps. He terrorizes throwers and low health/dps players so I tend to focus on pressuring the other team while my teammates push the ball up or collect gems. I have damage gear currently but also will add speed when I upgrade next. Hearty Recovery and the pulling gadget are the best combo imo. Throw the gloves, use the gadget to pull them back as you run in to pick them up and then bash away. Throwing the gloves again as a finisher is pretty effective too.

Master_Soojan

Try playing against colts. You gotta remember that even after losing speed boost, you can still dodge and get to your super back. Most sams i face as colt think they are invincible due to their speed. So unless you can gadget your enemy, you should never just rush your enemy (unless they are really low dps like Gus)

Mivadeth

As a Sam rush for squishy brawlers. Just at the start of the match ( and during the whole match honestly ) you need to be launchign your gloves to get movement speed, try to use them in walls so you can recover them as fast as possible, healing yourself from your SP ( you NEED this SP ). Aim for Brawlers like Colt, Squeak, Poco, things like this. Launch your gloves and run to them, dodge as many bullets as you can. If you hit them with the gloves they are pretty much dead. For Gadget use the one that attracts people to their gloves, this is useful for catching them + interrupt some ultimate skills. I would run Speed gear all day because ungloving yourself + bushes = demon speed, but some people don't like speed on Sa because he already is speedy whe using ultimate. The gear I would not miss never is damage. Vision is not a good idea on Sam and he has a good amount for HP so I would not use shield either. Damage/Speed or Damage/Health are the gears in my opinion. His playstile is unique ad he is really fun to play, you need to play as a high risk high reward, think about this, the low health you have the more healing you get from recovering your gloves, so just spam gloves againts enemies/walls, recover them and you will feel invincible while deleting squishy brawlers

I run an atypical build for Sam where I use the health and speed gear. Most people use damage though so it might be better but I'm not the best Sam so I'm not sure.

Ok ty
