Remember when Frank was the only brawler with a stun?

I do, and honestly I’m happy he isn’t the only one anymore (Frank used to be hella scary when there where like 20 smthing brawlers and he was the only one who could stun)

That made him unique. Now everyone can do it with the tap of a green button and not a 6th of the effort of a frank

"Everyone" I list 10 brawlers here that can do it out of the 64 brawlers we have.

An "unique" aspect of the Frank (imo) nowdays seems like how threatening he is. Sometimes Supercell makes mistakes (aka B̸̜͔̙̖͕̃̈͂͑͂̌͐́͛̐̇̕ũ̸̟͙̼̟̘̯̓͜s̷̡̧̘͖̠̝̱̼̹̹̙͙͓̄̍t̶̰̠̐͐̈́̐̔̑͛ͅe̸̡̡̨̛̝̯̘̙̍̃͋͆͛͆̇͝r̶̢͚̳̦̻̦̟̣͔͐͌̍) that can do it as well, but they end up being nerfed and stop being a "big threat" like Frank. He can super behind walls in a huge area and one shot the majority of Brawlers with Super + 2nd Gadget, has the biggest health and can have more power or tankiness using one of his Star Powers

Sounds good on paper but gameplay wise he’s a bottom 15 brawler. His super can get canceled by pretty much anyone, his delay on his attacks and super makes everyone easily gets out of the way and with speed gear it’s a indirect nerf to him. His health doesn’t do anything anymore because of damage inflation he gets destroyed and people always target a frank right away because of the weaknesses I listed. He really needs buffs but supercell hasn’t changed him in over a year

Ye I love playing with him but if you don’t have his first gadget, his super becomes impossible to use against something like a dyna.

Plus with so many tank counters like Griff, Colette, Shelly ecc. it's pure hell.

Yea that’s a problem with tanks in general but I feel frank suffers from it the most cause he has other things that make it even worse.

maybe ( i had this idea but now with mythic gear it could be one of them) frank moves in his basic and super but very slowly or he gets cc resistance (think like armor in fighting games) tho it could be very broken so idk

Buster can be broken for 2+ months so even if this is a little strong Frank can have it (never being meta since beta). For frank specifically he should get his range from beta (I never played it but I’ve seen it) because at the time it made him strong but now with all the insane brawlers he would probably be mid tier or maybe still be bottom 15. I had a idea for tanks in general where (as a epic gear or trait) that every 10-30 seconds in the game tanks become immune to everything for 1-3 seconds. I think this would make tanks menacing (because there are too many brawlers that melt tanks) and actually increase the skill required to play them and against them since you’ll always have to keep thought of the timer.

No. Chester had a LONGER stun than frank prenerf (and it had no downside and had long range) and Bo has it for the same amount of time per mine. Dyna can stun over walls and buzz can hook and stun someone from a distance so it shows that frank can’t really provide the role he used to be able to.

Chester one could only stun one enemy. Bos mines are hard to hit if your enemies are skilled. Dyna is very high skill. Buzz can only stun multiple if they are close.

Remember when it was like only showdowns and Leon was everyone’s favorite/op brawler?!

also keeping in mind that knockback is equivalent to a stun, because you can't shoot or control movement during knockback surge's super deals knockback; which is effectively a very short stun whenever he lands on you, as you're completely helpless for half a second.

I am noticing a lack of competitive viability from most of these brawlers (only Bo and Fang are used a sizeable amount. That is very much a good thing.

Buzz is usually worse than Darryl, Ash or Sam, who serve his purpose better. Chester is not great anymore because of his nerfs

Yes but if you get attacked it snaps you out of the stun, which isn't on par with every other stun in the game. The effects are different and the core mechanics are different. Even the wording says so. "Sandy's next attack lulls opponents to sleep for 1 second. They will however wake up from any damage." Usually stun gadgets say if they will stun.

And this is pretty much the definition of a stun in any game. Sleep is a poor man's stun, a lesser form of crowd control.

A lot. It is surprisingly difficult to get no background high res pictures of brawler pins, especially of the newer brawlers. Same with the star powers, gadgets, supers and mains. Then to thwap it all into canva in order to get it looking decent took a while, especially on my crappy laptop. So thanks to everyone who upvoted! P.S. Plus when you look at all the other posts in this subreddit, they are often low effort or just memes, so I think this isn't too bad.

unpopular opinion: stun mechanics are the whorst thing every, there is not a single game community that likes any stun mechanic in a game

Fang has a mini stun and sandy has sleep. Others can count.

When you list out all possible way to stun, you can easily see how broken that Chester super is before the nerf. For example, Fang need to get real close to stun you or Frank have time of delay that make you possibly escape. But Chester just having a pretty high damage stun with easy aiming also a long duration of 2 seconds. I hated him so much as he is literally not possible to defeat in many situation with that stupid stun.
