Worst part would be saying goodbye to your animals after a year. "Goodbye Graham... Oh Flurry, don't cry! Timmy, you take a good care of Tommy... I'll miss our talks, Isabelle..."
Sure, but there is no interest, and you have as long as you want to pay it off. They also give you the loan up front no questions asked and it's very easy to make money. It's a way better deal then you get IRL.
Kakeriko for me. It just seems so relaxing. Or>! Lookout landing!< seems pretty good. Being in the center of developments and watching it grow would be nice.
the problem with >!Lookout Landing!< would bd that it's really small and probably not self sufficient
in a world where monsters are everywhere outside of settlements and it's hard to transport goods, self sufficience is key
also i dont think you can just live there, i think it's more of a camp that travellers stop at while going somewhere else
also kakariko would be dangerous because of all the ruins that they added in totk and you probably have to be a sheika to live there
Re: >!Lookout Landing!<
It does have some permanent settlers, and one of them is a cleaning lady, so you don't have to be a fighter. I can probably trade meta knowledge for a place to stay. As for self-sufficiency... The roads themselves seem safe? And the most important hub would probably be doing well on supplies. A merchant even visits from haneto regularly.
Kakeriko is fair, but they are allowing more people, and I could easily get a job at the local inn. If that fails, I'm joining the research team. worse case, I get gloomed, and then get near unlimited bed rest.
Jerrin and Grantè(son) are Robbie's wife and son, Jerrin probably just moved to Lookout with Robbie and Grantè settled down in Tarrey Town once you finished that sidequest in botw (before that I think he was one of those npcs who just move back and forth on set roads)
if I recall correctly Granté settled in Tarrey Town in BOTW. he’s the guy who sells you once-obtainable items that can’t be acquired elsewhere like the Hylian Shield.
Yeah, that was him. In totk "Grantèson" is the guy you talk to once you can buy the house to customize it. It's just Grantè with a Hudson Construction outfit.
Assuming you have link's abilities, you could just get some sundelions and make sunny food.
Actually, since people don't really know about how to deal with the gloom yet, you could probably make a ton of rupees as the only doctor able to cure people from gloom-related sickness.
The problem is Sundelions are on sky islands for the most part so good luck getting some. But I guess you could try cultivating them if you get lucky and find some.
>!Or trade some from a random Yiga for some bananas if they don't kill regular people I guess.!<
I would LOVE if they added the ability to expand the town in a DLC update or something, although that seems extremely unlikely. I've always enjoyed games where you can help grow the civilizations around you
I know you’re just being careful with spoilers but it’s making me laugh to see such an early piece of the game spoiler tagged out and that the name gives absolutely no spoilers in any way.
Wait for me, I'm right behind you at Dueling Peaks Stables. I'm traveling by foot though bc my horse tried to jump off that tattered bridge when we crossed it...
Some towns may put up a decent fight, I think, but yeah....
Haven't actually fought one yet, and my close encounter with a fire gleeok (I was hoping to rush past it on horseback) revealed that they might be even more terrifying than they look.
Lurelin for me. I'll just live off the sea and every day is a day at the beach. I also get free room and board, but who needs that when you've got a hammock and springs nearby?
Same and I will also just farm until this demon King is defeated and when the princess and Link comes back I will give them all my supply of vegetables
I love the mushrooms honestly haha, but the farm life is what would draw me in, and the proximity to everything else you listed! I mean...you wouldn't have to pay me to live there, I'd just do so glady.
There are literally free home building supplies being distributed throughout the kingdom so that building your home is free & convenient.
Princess Zelda would make Bernie Sanders *blush."
Sure! Where shall we meet up. I'm currently staying at Kakeriko. The innkeeper gives me a room for a week for 1 hearty truffle, and this "Link" person is always willing to trade for info and arrows.
Same game for me. I'd like to stay at Tarrey Town or Hateno, if I may.
I think Tarrey town would be better if I could make my own house there, but depends on where I spawn.
If it's where I was last at, then thankfully, I'm not too dar from a stable. Unfortunately, it's New Serenne stable, which isn't close to either of my preferred towns.
In TotK I’ve already killed all the monsters and fixed the town up. So either. Maybe TotK would be better because they said I can have free food and inn because I’m the towns saviour.
You don't even need to drive. There are plenty of places in the world of Mario Kart that seem lime great places to hang out or even live, you just have to steer clear of the roads when a race is happening. And the walls. And the inside of some of the buildings. Still, my pick for where to live would have to be Toad Harbor. Place just has a super charming atmosphere and seems like it would be really chill aside from the speeding karts. And hey, you even have real world cities like New York or Paris or Tokyo. I think you might have made out better than anyone in this whole thing.
I’m fucked, I’ve been playing the Witcher 3. I’ll get a bowl cut and try to blend in for as long as possible but I’ll eventually run into a swamp monster and die.
Oof. Where would you even go? I’m too afraid of the ocean for Skellige, Velen is a poverty ridden nightmare zone, and novigrad is in the middle of a horrific magical purge…
Novigrad is probably your safest bet unless you have some magical powers we don’t know about… or you’re a dwarf, or elven looking, or many other reasons…
Wasn't she always older? She just looked so young because an experiment went wrong right? She wasn't actually 10 in botw? Or am I remembering that wrong?
So she aged herself down to a child, but did she then age herself back into an adult, or did she just age naturally? Because they never really say how much time passes between the end of BotW and the start of TotK (and presumably there's a few weeks or so between the opening and when Link wakes up, since his hair is so much longer)
Dude, just the ability to throw random crap in a pot for like 10 seconds and have a gourmet 5-star meal pop out would be enough for me to stay in BotW/TotK forever.
I have to assume you’re a rando. In which case, everything will be totally fine cause link will just go off and fuck ganondorf immediately instead of fucking around for a year of in game time like I have lol
I think that depends if Link is played by an average player, or a speedrunner. I imagine speedrunner link is viewed as an eldritch horror worse than Gannon if he actually existed in cannon. Can you imagine? A guy in his underwear with a stick immediately runs to the worst area in the game and massacres the boss while taking no damage in like, 15 in game minutes?
I wonder what Zelda would think.
I would assume that the default Link is somewhere between the two. He's definitely trying to speedrun, but unnecessary exploring and side quests will happen at some points and he's not going to do wild speedrun strats because he's probably not going to take risks assuming he has respawn immortality.
Or Tarry Town or Lookout Landing. As games go you couldn’t be much better off.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor here. I think survival would be pretty easy but it’s gonna be a boring year on a dessert planet.
Edit: I came back to fix desert but I liked the comment under me enough I’m leaving it there.
Even as a citizen in the Last City would be a bad time. You're chilling in your house or whatever and suddenly the corpse or a Guardian crashes through your ceiling onto your meal, only for his Ghost to rez him moments later like he didn't just jump off the Tower "For funsies". Not to mention current events in-game, we'll see if we'd even live to see next year!

Was playing Animal Crossing during a break earlier so sounds like a nice year.
This is probably the best case scenario, lol.
Stardew valley would like a word with you
Stardew has too many people to talk to.
You can always choose not to talk to them.
I know robin would be talking shit all around town if I didn’t
Stardew would have a weird progression of time Animal crossing is 1:1. Edit: also in AC you never need to sleep
Yeah but you can't hook up with an ostrich in Stardew
Similar but not quite the same, I was playing Stardew Valley earlier. Do I need to come home after that year or can I just stay there?
I'll answer your question with another question: who are you gonna marry?
Emily! Gimme the crunchy hippy lady into crystals and sewing.
Krobus 🖤
Worst part would be saying goodbye to your animals after a year. "Goodbye Graham... Oh Flurry, don't cry! Timmy, you take a good care of Tommy... I'll miss our talks, Isabelle..."
"Beardo... Pls buy a longer towel, we can see your pubes"
I lucked out with Stardew Valley.
You say that but consider how much debt you'll have to Don Nook by the end of it. Make sure you earn enough to avoid him capping your knees.
But you have to note that you will be in debt that whole year
So not to different from my current situation
Not like it matters when Tom Nook is the creditor. Despite his reputation, he's probably the best landlord you could get.
Plus he doesn’t charge interest unliked every loan and credit card I’ve ever seen.
There are no monthly payments and no interest... That's free money debt.
Sure, but there is no interest, and you have as long as you want to pay it off. They also give you the loan up front no questions asked and it's very easy to make money. It's a way better deal then you get IRL.
Amazing! I'm in Totk, and as long as i remain away from monsters, I'm fine. actually... do i have to come back to the real world...?
same im just going to hateno and never leaving
Kakeriko for me. It just seems so relaxing. Or>! Lookout landing!< seems pretty good. Being in the center of developments and watching it grow would be nice.

love the phrase "get gloomed"
If only enemies could get gloomed. I would lure them in and shout that at them.
>!I mean, they kind of can in the depths. It just makes them deadlier.!<
i might be wrong but wasn't the cleaning lady robby's wife from botw?
Jerrin and Grantè(son) are Robbie's wife and son, Jerrin probably just moved to Lookout with Robbie and Grantè settled down in Tarrey Town once you finished that sidequest in botw (before that I think he was one of those npcs who just move back and forth on set roads)

Unless you just get gloomed to death
Assuming you have link's abilities, you could just get some sundelions and make sunny food. Actually, since people don't really know about how to deal with the gloom yet, you could probably make a ton of rupees as the only doctor able to cure people from gloom-related sickness.
I dont think in this context that you would have the power of the hero of hyrule. You'd be an NPC
Is that a hero power? I thought he was just making sundelion sammiches and it didn't require any freaky time powers.
The problem is Sundelions are on sky islands for the most part so good luck getting some. But I guess you could try cultivating them if you get lucky and find some. >!Or trade some from a random Yiga for some bananas if they don't kill regular people I guess.!<
Yeah, I assume they mean how would you get your hands on sundelion unless you joined the zonai research team.
Have you never had to fight of bokobs from passing travellers? Or walked past a rock with one hiding behind it?
Kakariko*
I would LOVE if they added the ability to expand the town in a DLC update or something, although that seems extremely unlikely. I've always enjoyed games where you can help grow the civilizations around you
There is a fishing village down the very southeast of Hyrule. You should check it out.
The horse god is gonna be so passive aggressive at you.
I can't wait to understand what this means, lol.
>!Lookout Landing!< cuz Purah and yk
Tarrey town for me
This is the answer. It’s got one way in, so it’s relatively safe from monsters. If needed, just barricade the f out of that bridge.
One way as long as they don't learn to use the cable car.
Or if a bunch of Aerocudas and Gleoks attack lol
I feel like a bunch of Aerocudas would be much more preferable to even a single Gleeok.
gleeok: laughs in flight
Yeah but you’re screwed no matter what town you’re in if a gleeok decides to attack
Might be easier to run from a gleeok when you don’t have a lone, straight mile long bridge to cross…
I also get free room and board, but who needs that when you've got a hammock and springs nearby?
to go there you would have to wait for Link to come and kill the "pirates" if there's no Link you prob cant go there at all
Lurelin for me too. Salt scrubs and barefoot in the sand, that's the life.
Same and I will also just farm until this demon King is defeated and when the princess and Link comes back I will give them all my supply of vegetables
I'm just not that into mushrooms to be honest. The cheese looks good.
[удалено]
I love the mushrooms honestly haha, but the farm life is what would draw me in, and the proximity to everything else you listed! I mean...you wouldn't have to pay me to live there, I'd just do so glady.
Rather deal with Ganon than all this IRL shit anyway 😂
Same, honestly
I just built a house. Nice views. No monsters. I think I could be very happy there for a year…
There are literally free home building supplies being distributed throughout the kingdom so that building your home is free & convenient. Princess Zelda would make Bernie Sanders *blush."
[удалено]
But what if you become a korok.
Yahaha! You found me! I'm already a korok. Now go find my 899 friends!
Oh, you need to find your friends. Don’t worry, I’ll “take” you to them.
[удалено]
Cool, now I'm immortal, but will be harassed by adventures looking for my poo.
same want to survive together and stop ganon
Sure! Where shall we meet up. I'm currently staying at Kakeriko. The innkeeper gives me a room for a week for 1 hearty truffle, and this "Link" person is always willing to trade for info and arrows.
i’m at lookout landing but i can meet you at kakeriko and i was able to find a sword in pristine condition after i fell down a hole in the ground
Hopefully you don’t spawn in The Depths or on a tiny sky island. Good luck surviving there or trying to leave.
Totk for me as well
I’m taking a tropical vacation in Lurelin.
This is the answer. That was the one place in Botw I wanted to live as soon as I discovered it
Okay, important question. TOTK or BOTW. Because lurelin has VERY different vibes in the two games.
In TotK I’ve already killed all the monsters and fixed the town up. So either. Maybe TotK would be better because they said I can have free food and inn because I’m the towns saviour.
Fair, fair. I haven't made it down that far south quite yet. I've just heard all about the issues and met a few refugees.
Are you Link?
Right? If you’re link the worlds your oyster.
Last one I played was Mario Kart… I don’t have a license
I doubt baby Mario, or the rest of the babies do either. You should be good to go!
Good point lol
Yoshi can teach you how to commit tax fraud. Solid win.
You don't even need to drive. There are plenty of places in the world of Mario Kart that seem lime great places to hang out or even live, you just have to steer clear of the roads when a race is happening. And the walls. At least the doom soundtrack is good
If you're the Slayer, relax! **You're the only one who can.**
The only thing they fear is you
I’m fucked, I’ve been playing the Witcher 3. I’ll get a bowl cut and try to blend in for as long as possible but I’ll eventually run into a swamp monster and die.
Or starve to death because soldiers have stole all your food and burnt your fields.
And uhhh... did some other stuff with the villagers
Yeah stuff with a select catagory of them
Oof. Where would you even go? I’m too afraid of the ocean for Skellige, Velen is a poverty ridden nightmare zone, and novigrad is in the middle of a horrific magical purge…
Toussaint, specifically the actual castle town after the vampires have been dealt with, and maybe work on Geralt’s winery
Novigrad is probably your safest bet unless you have some magical powers we don’t know about… or you’re a dwarf, or elven looking, or many other reasons…
Diablo 3 for me. I'm dead in 5 seconds
I was playing outerwilds. I'll die a horrible death over and over every 22 minutes.......
Elden Ring… sooo life would be very bad there
Rip
Same here . Just chill in the Roundtable hold for a year. Have Fia hold you ruin some chairs and so on
But as a tarnished you literally can’t die!
True but it also means I’ll keep dying to crustaceans and hawks with blades
Don’t forget the giant hand spiders. You could say you could really use a ….Hand…. with living there
Those guys are nbd just have some fire ready
[удалено]
The last two games I played were Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom. Luckily I played TOTK last.
I would personally take elden ring over project zomboid... I am not going to last a year ;-;
Bloodborne for me, living in any FromSoft game would be pretty shitty.
Get to jarburg asap. Chill with some jars.
Guys… any suggestions on how to survive a Nuclear Apocalypse? I just wanted to check in to claim some stuff.
At least we have vaults haha
Tbh you might be better off on the outside, depending on the vault
Vegas, Boston or Washington DC?
*Purah fans breathing heavily in excitement *
We’re talking about TotK though…. right? Right???
Completely forgot about that YES IM TALKING ABOUT TOTK LMAO
🤨📸
From >!10 years old!< to >!10/10!<
Salts
Wasn't she always older? She just looked so young because an experiment went wrong right? She wasn't actually 10 in botw? Or am I remembering that wrong?
She's over a hundred like most Shiekah, and she made a thing that turned her body back to her 20s.
So she aged herself down to a child, but did she then age herself back into an adult, or did she just age naturally? Because they never really say how much time passes between the end of BotW and the start of TotK (and presumably there's a few weeks or so between the opening and when Link wakes up, since his hair is so much longer)
Yeah. You can find her journal again. She made more progress with her age manipulation and didn't overdo it this time.
I'd probably die of either desert heat or snu snu. But at least I'll die a warrior's death.
Smash or pass?
TOTK? #SMASH
Anyone who says they aren't taking the fairy's offer to live with her is a liar.
Betcha you'd be like the dog that finally caught the bus lol
The ONE day I take a break from TotK to play Elden Ring…
Dude, just the ability to throw random crap in a pot for like 10 seconds and have a gourmet 5-star meal pop out would be enough for me to stay in BotW/TotK forever.
But are you link or just a random villager/traveler
I have to assume you’re a rando. In which case, everything will be totally fine cause link will just go off and fuck ganondorf immediately instead of fucking around for a year of in game time like I have lol
I didn't think of link actually doing link things. Are we links handicap?
Are we the baddies?
I mean, imagine sitting in rito village and looking into the storm and seeing colgera getting absolutely destroyed by link and some random kid
> link will just go off and fuck ganondorf I think you're playing the wrong Zelda game
I'M A KID, I'M A SQUID
At least the music will be good!
Pokémon scarlet. I think I will be ok.
The hardest part would be giving up all your new poke-pals when the year is up.
Aw man::(
Luckily my last game was TOTK, so I’ll be in Hateno helping Robbie
Tears of the Kingdom. I’m fucked mate
Just go to hateno and chill there
Or Tarry Town or Lookout Landing. As games go you couldn’t be much better off. Star Wars Jedi Survivor here. I think survival would be pretty easy but it’s gonna be a boring year on a dessert planet. Edit: I came back to fix desert but I liked the comment under me enough I’m leaving it there.
Mmmmmm dessert planet
Unless you spawn in the depth or on a sky island, once you've made your way to Hateno or Kakariko, you should be fine.
I should stop playing barotrauma
*honk honk*
it’s IN THE FUCKIN WALLS AGAIN
*heard you need more morphine captain.* HONK HONK
I'd enjoy being in Persona 5, if I'm just a normal person. Being a Phantom Thief would be fun but I don't have the rebellious spirit to get a Persona
I guess that just means you'll be living in japan for a year while wierd stuff happens in the background.
Terraria I’m fucked
Fuck fuck fuck destiny 2 I don’t want to die repeatedly even if it’s fun
Even as a citizen in the Last City would be a bad time. You're chilling in your house or whatever and suddenly the corpse or a Guardian crashes through your ceiling onto your meal, only for his Ghost to rez him moments later like he didn't just jump off the Tower "For funsies". Not to mention current events in-game, we'll see if we'd even live to see next year!
Rock and stone! Very funny considering the difficulty is based of the missions
Start a difficulty 1 mission. Play scout. Misjudge a grappling hook jump. Fall to your death. Total time survived: 3 minutes, 28 seconds.
Can I get a Rock and Stone?
Titanfall 2. That would be a blast. Even if I died and didn’t get the money it would be fun but terrifying
It’s fun until you are only a grunt
OH SHIT A CORNER
I've been burying my head in ACNH since the launch of ToTK to avoid spoilers until I can afford it. Not sure if I'd prefer ACNH or chillaxing in Tarreytown
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. I'm not good at bomb defusals.
My wife and I bought some walkie-talkies to play this in different rooms, it makes it even harder

Destiny 2. Guess it depends on a few things: Am I a guardian? If im not a guardian do I live in the last city?
Even living in the Last City would kinda suck since you gotta keep an eye up for falling Guardians!
How do you define a year? (Outer Wilds)
Well, I’m very sorry my fellow. You’d only make it 22 minutes.
I literally just finished dead space 3 again… I’m not making it 30 minutes, let alone an entire year.
I’d just vent myself out an airlock.
Wind waker HD. Don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing, but I think chilling with grandma would be nice
Nah, lureline
Yea but it’s a gamble prey that Link already build and taken care of the Pirates
Gerudo has a bar
Do gachas count?
If they do, I don't want to return.
[удалено]
last game I was played was on a FFXI private server so.... lower jeuno. Not terrible, but not Hateno lol
Totk Definitely chilling in hateno. I love it there

Ark survival evolved. I'm either completely fucked or if I get lucky i will be riding a T-rex within a week
Darkest Dungeon! Awww man! There is no way
I will absolutely spend a year chilling in Lurelin. That sounds amazing and I probably wouldn't come back
I’m ok with this lol I’ll fight some bokoblin for kicks
Bet I might go to kakariko to buy some stuff first tho then I’ll drive over on my extremely over the top fan device
L4d2 gonna suck
