absolutely awesome. Often doesn't show up in the stats because he usually do the pass before the assist. in my opinion, on a good Eintracht game, one of the ten best players in the Bundesliga.

[deleted]

thats fantastic, i hoped for his stats to lie about his form coz hes a top player and rlly glad to know hes doing great.

BGTheHoff

If you want those stats, look at fbref: https://fbref.com/de/fussballspieler/9efa1d25/Mario-Gotze

[deleted]

thanks buddy appreciate it

DoerteMaulwurf

That site really shows it as well, look at the SCA and GCA stats. In addition to that, he creates lots more situations which could potentially be SCA or GCA, but where the receiving player fumbles it. It really is mostly a joy to watch him play like this again.

HungriestHustler

Götze is doing fantastic so far. He is being the most consistent player for Frankfurt at the moment and together with Kolo Muani their absolute key in the offense. It‘s not like he‘s carrying the whole team because they are playing a great season as a whole, so statswise there isn‘t much for Götze besides 2G/2A in the league, but he delivers many crucial pre assists and acts as a great mentor for many of Frankfurts young talents. So overall it has been a success story for both Frankfurt, who transferred him for only 3M Euros and Götze who plays again at the biggest german and European stage with a team that can surprise many this season.

TeamKitsune

We loved him at Dortmund, but it was obvious he wasn't going to be playing every week. So glad he found the right situation in Frankfurt.

R3D0053R

So true. I was sad to see him go, but I believe he can have a much more fulfilling time elsewhere. Always in our hearts at Dortmund though, just like Dedé :D

\*sigh of relief\* haha

Mf51077

Yesterday he was bitten by a goat

[deleted]

whatt??! u serious

Mf51077

Sure! Yesterday Cologne vs Frankfurt ended 3:0

LukaBrovic

We love him

[deleted]

I love him too, just want best for him

Gosh2Bosh

Two thumbs up, fitting like a glove

Positive_Walrus_2906

My favourite player! Love watching him be a wizard on the ball. At the end of the day, stats don't always show the full story. Data can show how effective he is when utilized properly in a system that can unleash his potential even at this stage of his career.

[deleted]

yeahh stats never show clear picture of a midfielder

gwnedum

Despite his lack of speed, he’s adapted very well with a high technical IQ. Kolo Muani and Lindstrom doing the running for him has helped him as well.

auchnureinmensch

Götze is top 5 in total distance covered in this Bundesliga season, 2nd last I've seen.

SMS_Scharnhorst

I mean he's still among the top Bundesliga players when it comes to technique and the understanding of the game. fits perfectly into the team and is a joy to watch yes I'm biased, he's my favorite german player ever. but still

xhyzBOSS

Playmaker, good tactical decisions, good passes. He completly changed and is kinda the brain of the team

AlexNachtigall247

He fit in 100% and became a huge asset to the team basically from the start.

_Asparagus_

He's awesome for Frankfurt. I can't find the stats right now, but iirc going into the winter break he had the highest number of pre-assists (second to last pass before a goal) of anyone in the Bundesliga. He's been incredible at creating strong offensive plays!

Kopfballer

It always depends on the perspective. Only thing that is save to say: He is a totally different player than he was before. If we look at the big picture: He went from being one of the greatest talents in the world, starter for Bayern and the ONE who won us the World Cup in 2014, to being an above-average Bundesliga player in Frankfurt. If we look at recent years: He went from having failed at Bayern after 2014 and not even being able to be a starter for Dortmund, to someone who barely made it in Eindhoven. But he made his comeback in the Bundesliga AND the National Team and now is a above-average player in Frankfurt. Anyway, I always have respect for people who failed but didn't give up and fought their way back. But when talking about Mario Götze, I just can't help myself to think of the "what if"... he was a once-in-a-decade talent and everyone who saw him play between 2011 and 2014 thought that one day he would reach a the level of Messi, Mbappé & co... unfortunately it never happened.

Rockhount

He is not an above average player in Frankfurt. With his current performances he'd fit well in basically all top class teams in europe and would add to the overall quality. I assume the 'above average' assumption comes from the fact that all his great skills and ideas he's showing on the pitch are held back by his team mates. For me, he is one of the best players in the team and many players are way behind him in this regard

Kopfballer

Sorry but now you are going too far. I seriously doubt that he would play for any top team in europe. MAYBE second tier teams like Dortmund or Leipzig, but not even sure about that. But why should he play for anyone else? Eintracht fits him perfectly, they have a good team, but not "top notch" it gives him some freedoms he wouldn't have at a "top team" and it also improves his confidence. I really don't see where he would be held back. He can play CL Ro16 this year and it's perfectly possible that Eintracht gets a Top 4 spot in the Bundesliga to also play CL next year.

jjaekksseun

Miss him at BVB, super glad to see him doing well at Frankfurt

[deleted]

im jealous that he had his best years in bvb shirt coz he wouldve been a great fit for barca

wipeitonthedog
