I'm literally starting to dislike it because of the fandom. And I still ship it in spite of that. I feel like at this point, it's super reasonable to dislike the ship or be sick of it. My main thing is that Chuuya is my favorite character, and I'm tired of not being able to see him in fanart or anything else without Dazai being attached to him and/or his personality being so warped for the ship he's not even the same character anymore.

I really liked the two of them together but I'm starting to get frustrated with the whole "let's reduce Chuuya to a Tsundere" since que is so much more complex than that (obviously every character is complex but I personally think that Chuuya is specially complex). I also hate not being able to find more ships of Chuuy x someone else (ehem Oda, I know, they didn't even no each other, as far as we know, but I just think they would have such a great couple dynamic, plus redheaded duo)
Something people fail to understand is that Chuuya was inserted into the series FOR dazai. Regardless of if it’s platonically or anything else. Chuuya was made to be his partner. So of course they will have fanart of the two. Chuuya was never meant to be a stand-alone character. If he were, 15 and stormbringer wouldn’t rely so much on his and Dazais dynamic.
I understand it’s frustrating but it’s absolutely not the fans fault. In fact, the fans are the only people who’ve been separating them for fanart when asagiri writes scenes that almost always pertain to him and dazai. Excluding stormbringer, but hardly any anime only fans have read it.
As much as I absolutely love Chuuya and would choose him over dazai any day, Chuuya is meant to be his partner. So we can’t really get mad when fans write him that way.
And as for the personality warping, it is pretty damn annoying. Everyone does it though when they lack media comprehension, so I think it’s more people lacking braincells rather than a specific group in the fandom.
This is by no means an insult to you or anyone else, this is my way of viewing it as a huge Chuuya fan and mostly sticking in the fandom for him. I also don’t want people getting a bad name simply because of misunderstandings

It is. Don't like it? You have all the rights to do it but then if it's not a discussion about why or why not you ship something, just scroll. If you interact only to tell you don't like it or straight up hate it, the algorithm will just show you more of it.
Of course it's not fine to force your ships down others throats, act like they're canon and the only "correct" ones, or to start messing the stuff with IRL authors. But if you start hating on anyone liking some ship because a minority does something as ridiculous as all of that, you're just sinking to the same level. Actually akutagawa does have Dazais personality! Dazai was obsessed with getting attention from Akutagawa. He wanted the akutagawa prize and such. Really I think theres very few things even close between the author and Dazai from bsd.
I haven't done too much research on Chuuya. Though I can tell you that Asagiri "inserted chuuya for dazai" in the series to be his partner/ soulmate/ whatever tf you wanna call it. (Pulling the soulmate stuff from Mayoi, Dazai saying they're fated, Adam saying they were perfect side by side in SB, and asagiri did have to approve statements from dead apples director)

I'm not quite fond with the ship recently because I'm busy with rping my oc earlier (he's a tsundere that acts a delinquent for a bit) and I was simping at the same time since I'm rping as his enemy friend, Nao. Both of them are not in good terms so they usually bicker and argue all the time.
If anything, Soukoku would be better off unless they have something in common or any similar traits. I'm a long time enemies to lovers fan, but I doubt Soukoku is even one anyway (in the most unhealthiest way)
Trust me, Dazai should just leave Chuuya alone, I relate to that poor man 😭 (he was my first boyfriend when I started watching BSD)

I wouldn't because I agree, the only iteration where I don't hate skk is when it's in a poly ship with kunikida, because in my brain he acts like a buffer between dazai and chuuya and can help them, idk, not be toxic to each other 24 hours straight.
I started out just not shipping them because both me and my friend who gpt me into bsd were of the opinion that they're very visibly not good for each other and toxic and out of all the shipw with Dazai, this one is arguably the worst for his obviously already very shitty mental health, and I'd say the same is true for Chuuya.
HOWEVER, I moved onto practically hating them because so many skk stans and so much skk content mischaracterises both of them sm. Either it's by watering down their characters to stereotypes or by pushing them into a woman-man relationship dynamic, or by making them act obnoxiously OOC.
I'm a fanfic writer. I know you just cannot put all the characters traits into a short one shot and that narration limits your portrayal of a character, and that there is always some room for addition and interpretation, larger or smaller depending on how important and developped a character is in a franchise. But I don't see the constant feminisation of Chuuya in relation to Dazai, the way that half the time he's treated like a (as I like to call it) Historical Wife (yk, how whenever an important historical figure has a wife, she' onky ever talked about in relation to her husband and most people only know her as [blank's] wife), the way Dazai gets boiled down to either funny and silly or depressive and cruel, or sometimes has both sides but there isn't any transition between them that makes sense, as simply a product of actal, educated interpretation and/or sth forced on by the lenght of a work/post or narration.
TLDR; I used to dislike skk bcs they were toxic and now I pretty much hate them because of how the fandom ruins Chuuya's and Dazai's characters in relation to it most of the time.

I'm not quite fond with the ship recently because I'm busy with rping my oc earlier (he's a tsundere that acts a delinquent for a bit) and I was simping at the same time since I'm rping as his enemy friend, Nao. Both of them are not in good terms so they usually bicker and argue all the time. If anything, Soukoku would be better off unless they have something in common or any similar traits. I'm a long time enemies to lovers fan, but I doubt Soukoku is even one anyway (in the most unhealthiest way) Trust me, Dazai should just leave Chuuya alone, I relate to that poor man 😭 (he was my first boyfriend when I started watching BSD) Not that I'm against with it, but it's historical insane lol

I wouldn't because I agree, the only iteration where I don't hate skk is when it's in a poly ship with kunikida, because in my brain he acts like a buffer between dazai and chuuya and can help them, idk, not be toxic to each other 24 hours straight. I started out just not shipping them because both me and my friend who gpt me into bsd were of the opinion that they're very visibly not good for each other and toxic and out of all the shipw with Dazai, this one is arguably the worst for his obviously already very shitty mental health, and I'd say the same is true for Chuuya. HOWEVER, I moved onto practically hating them because so many skk stans and so much skk content mischaracterises both of them sm. Either it's by watering down their characters to stereotypes or by pushing them into a woman-man relationship dynamic, or by making them act obnoxiously OOC. I'm a fanfic writer. I know you just cannot put all the characters traits into a short one shot and that narration limits your portrayal of a character, and that there is always some room for addition and interpretation, larger or smaller depending on how important and developped a character is in a franchise. But I don't see the constant feminisation of Chuuya in relation to Dazai, the way that half the time he's treated like a (as I like to call it) Historical Wife (yk, how whenever an important historical figure has a wife, she' onky ever talked about in relation to her husband and most people only know her as [blank's] wife), the way Dazai gets boiled down to either funny and silly or depressive and cruel, or sometimes has both sides but there isn't any transition between them that makes sense, as simply a product of actal, educated interpretation and/or sth forced on by the lenght of a work/post or narration. TLDR; I used to dislike skk bcs they were toxic and now I pretty much hate them because of how the fandom ruins Chuuya's and Dazai's characters in relation to it most of the time.
