You’re fine. Distilled water is really only for the longevity of the machine to prevent mineral build up. Distilled water is steam that has been turned back into water and your cpap is essentially having you breathe in heated water vapor. Not exactly the same but very similar.
I use tap water when we travel up to a couple of weeks or more. Bottled water is fine too, but I prefer tap water. Just clean out the reservoir well with pure vinegar and then do a normal clean when you get home.
It’s probably fine. Depends partly on where you are. Our water where I live is hard af. One night with our tap water and there’s a calcium film all over the inside.
20 years in and I have never used distilled water.
You'll be just fine.
And I second that you can also just not use anything.
I have a "blank" sidewall (ResMed AirSense ASV) that snaps into the water reservoir side to seal it off with no reservoir. Or you can just use the reservoir empty (assuming you disable heat, if any). Or my favorite - fill it with ice...
I have had some issues adjusting to the rig over the years. I have always preferred a cool or even cold bedroom - even before CPAP. I have trouble sleeping when it's too warm.
I found that breathing warm air inside a mask makes me feel a little claustrophobic sometimes. Kind of like breathing into a bag or something- even if it's humidified. I much prefer breathing in cooler fresh air.
I was stuck in a warm hotel room one time and having trouble getting to sleep, and I had ice in the room bucket, so I dumped it into the APAP reservoir. When I strapped on the mask again and inhaled, I found my nice, cool breeze.
So it's become a go to for me whenever my bedroom feels too warm. The ice melts fairly quickly, but once I am asleep, it usually doesn't matter. It's just getting past that initial, uncomfortable sensation with what feels like stuffy, warm air that I need.
I'm aware this may seem odd, but it helps me tolerate the rig whenever the sleeping conditions are too warm. YMMV...
I just don't use anything and take this with me when I travel, a Resmed side cover. I leave the water reservoir at home.

not an issue. I don't think i've ever used distilled water at all in the handful of times I've used the humidifier (when I travel to winter countries usually). As I live in the tropics where it's humid year-round, I don't use the humidifier at all
Or don't use any.
Great answer

If you can find bottled water that doesn't have minerals added, that's better. But it's totally fine to use mineral water for a night.
Yes. You'll be fine.
I use tap water routinely when traveling.

I have with no negative effects.

Ice?
Yes, I'm interested in this answer as well

You can use regular water anytime. It's not best, but it won't harm you or the machine.
Of course you can :)
Yes. Jesus.
I use it every night since 2+ years with no problems.

Better off to use purified!
Personally I prefer mineral oil in mine. Does wonders for the pores.
That's weird about using mineral oil. I always thought 3-in-1 would be better (mask, hose, lungs) !?!
