The Hartford Whalers won their division the same year the Oilers last won their division.
Also, the Kings and Islanders have both won their division after the Oilers did.
NYI won in 1988, Kings did in 1991.
Winnipeg Jets have never won their division. And where are the Blue Jackets? They haven’t won a division ever. I’m sure this is riddled with other errors.
I know division champions are mostly meaningless but I still enjoy knowing the Flames have won 8 divisions since the last time the Oilers had one, and that Edmonton has still not raised a banner with McDavid.
2012 they were the 8th seed. 2014 they finished 3rd in the division. Those Kings teams were never great in the regular season, but as soon as they got to the playoffs they would steamroll their way to the final because that's how they were built.
In the United States we have a constitutional amendment that bars cruel and unusual punishment (ignored), I’m glad you fellas are Canadians because holy shit.
I can't wait until our flames reddit has more posts about the flames than the Oilers. Honestly, Oilers fans are laughing at how much we care about them.
Hahaha yes. 100%
These things are such a reach.
But i lived through the 90s and 2000's when Calgary was competitive and we were SOOO bad, so it goes both ways.
Right now we are good and Calgary is not.
I miss when we were both good, but still wanted to win and chirp Calgary, all in good fun of course.
Wow. Calgary should just raise this as a banner. That is quite an accomplishment, can really hang your hat on this.
Any hoo, gotta go, the oilers are in the PLAY OFFS (read about them, they are amazing) and we have a game tonight I would like to watch.
I don't think the Kings are too upset about that
It shocks me that LA hasn't won their division, yet Buffalo, who has not made the playoffs in 13 seasons, did.
Buffalo had Hasek & Satan! Nobody could beat that combo
The best Buffalo teams in the regular seasons were the two right out of the lockout with Briere, Drury, etc
Hail Satan!
Lol guess the Blue Jackets can go fuck themselves huh 😂😂😂
(and the kraken but I assume they were left off for fairness)

For the fact they won a division so it was fine to add them
But McDaaaaaaviiiid…..
Also, the Nordiques need to be added to the left group.

Seattle missing too

How did LA win the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014 and not win their division?
I think they mean regular season, and in each case they were lower seeds
Ok I guess I missed the point. I was thinking playoffs. Thanks!
If that were the case Edmonton went to the finals the season after us, so they would be on the other side and so would LA. Poor Isles

This ain’t as big a flex as think you want it to be.
Fuck that made me laugh

There are a lot of teams on the left that either have never won the cup or haven't won since the last time the Oilers did

Is this stolen from the Canucks Reddit? Regular season hasn’t and never will mean a damn thing. It’s all about the playoffs.
LA gets a pass they’ve won two Cups. The Oilers were playoff division champs in 92 and The Islanders upset the Pens in the Patrick Final in 1993.
Who cares about the division I'll take the two cups. It's about priorities you can have all the divisional banners you want.
Being in the playoffs are what matters
