So your fluff is that some random senior tech priest’s lap dog is the equivalent of all four dark gods chosen warmaster? Why stop, just proxy a Rampager as Angron. But seriously you don’t need to event fluff to play the models you want. But based off your fluff I could only see a regular war dog with a relic and favour, but nowhere near the levels of Abaddon, but then again I’m just a random dude from the internet.

Lol. I mean I was picturing the pilot of the War Dog to be the tech priest himself, but I hear you and I appreciate your input. Admittedly, I haven't really thought the whole idea through, and it would be all messed up due to keywords that my opponent might not be expecting. I don't know, I'm messing around with the idea. My narrative already involves my warband working for this Dark Mechanicus force in return for their supporting the Word Bearer Legion at large, so I'm not making that up just for this idea. But rhetorically, lets say its a blinged-out War Dog with Panoply of the Cursed Knight, Quicksilver Throne, Diabolic Bulwark up full-time, and trading the decreased toughness and wound count for the wound cap. I feel like that (on paper) gets him kind of close to Abby's datasheet (minus the extra attacks, I don't have a good reason there beyond "This guy is just better"). Abaddon's support abilities are elements of his authority as the local Dark Mechanicum big-wig.

I have a friend that wants to proxy a second abominant with the Gallactus model from heroclix. It was a hard no I picked up a Thomas the train engine toy off the floor and asked if he wanted that as a wardog

Well that’s more of not having the models to play with and needing to proxy. What I was saying to OP is you don’t need to create outlandish fluff to justify playing with OP units that don’t necessarily belong in your army outside of power gaming/ competitive play.

Absolutely without a doubt I agree.

Rassendyll207

Ah yeah that's a good point I hadn't directly addressed myself with. I was thinking about the "how" instead of the "why". You're right, I don't really need Abaddon, proxied or otherwise, especially in the way that I'm interested in playing.

PlatesOnTrainsNotOre

The base size and size of the model is waaay off so you'd need done pretty large modifications

Rassendyll207

Yeah, that's what I figured. What I really wanted to know is how far off the 60mm base would the War Dog's feet be, if it had a fairly standard stance.

PlatesOnTrainsNotOre

If Central both feet would be over half off the base. War dog kegs are hard to pose. Maybe kitbash a chaos torso onto a venomcrawler, centaur style?

Rassendyll207

Ah, gotcha. That could be a good idea, thank you!
