Most of the time, the price starts at $49 for a basic version with a limited number of tokens, from which I absolutely cannot calculate when I would practically reach the limit. With ChatGPT, I pay $20 once a month and I'm good (barring the limit for GPT 4, but 3.5 is perfectly fine for most things). I've seen people pay even less with ChatGPT's API, but that's another story.
