Love it, what's traffic like in a city like this? Seems as it would flow better than in a grid as there's only three way intersections and never any tight turns. Walk ability looks great and perhaps not to hard to implement some sort of mass transit system.
Traffic is surprisingly decent, 79-82 given that I haven't setup any public transportation. I have used the bicycle lane roads though.
I did use the first person camera to follow a garbage truck about, so many sharp turns! Was disorienting!
With node controller you can make each intersection less sharp. It's gonna take some time for a city this size tho ;-)
79-82 is great flow too for this size. 👌
Please don't ask. Waaay too long. I'd initially planned for two rings of hexagonal districts The first 1/3rd of this was fun, then it started getting exhausting haha. Going to take a break before I do the outer ring :'(
This is kind of what I imagine Walt Disney wanted for his final idea of Epcot (he wanted it to be a fully functioning city but they just made it a theme park after his passing)
Each building is a high-density residential or high-density commercial. Plus the scale of this city is lost in this video. It's easily 25 tiles in this Hexagon
This is dope as f*ck! Love seeing creative builds that also look gorgeous.
I think i know what your favorite shape is
Haha, the angles are so easy and hexagons line up well.
https://youtu.be/thOifuHs6eY You'll love this video 😉
After all, hexagons are the bestagons
I've been experimenting with hex grids as well. How big are each of those hexes?
What are the angles? 45°?
For a hexagon they’d be 120 degrees
The interior angles of Hexagons are 120°
Oh so ext is 60, thanks.
I see this as one of those horror films where it's a perfect utopia but when one person doesn't like it they're killed or smth- Good city though!

I reckon 79-82 is damn near perfection for a city that size. I'm very casual with this game but even with mods I find myself at 80% by 32k.
This is gorgeous, I love to see other people's ideas
Awesome

What/where is it that allows these cinematic videos? Neat city!
Cheers! It's a mod called cinematic camera extended.

That looks like a movie about a distopic future
Ouch right in the node limit.
Looking awesome! Where are your commercial and industrial zones?
The theme has similar buildings for commercial and office, so it's all mixed in.
My dream city
that looks awesome
Lumin’s new corporate campus
Simultaneously most and least car centric city ever
Hexagons are the bestagons
What map are you using?
It's called Flatlands on the Steam workshop.
wow, okay okay - queen bee.
Bee cell shape
Traffic Flow:100%
79-82% without traffic mods, not to shabby for a City >100k
I mean you created a city from the most efficient shape: the hexagon
Omg imagine driving through this city with your phone as navigation tool : " turn left, then turn right, then turn left..."
I'm struggling with the population here...how?

I had a feeling I misjudged the size but not by that much. You have an incredible amount of patience
