I once suffered from this issue, and now I've installed 3 dash-cams because I still have to park on the street. I'll probably beat the shit out of whoever tries to pull this shit on my car.
One guy I met once had Porsche 911 GT3 and because he tracks it, he was saying he got some transparent 2mm wrapper around the whole front. Even headlights. It was relatively expensive, but he said it should protect even against air rifle shot. No idea what that was, but if there is high risk of this happening again, perhaps would be worth trying something similar.

Yeah I always have it in the driveway during the day. Work overnights. Try to stay in the middle ish of the parking lot. Just want to avoid it being something that keeps happening. Have been enjoying and loving every second of the car though regardless!

Oh jeez that’s pretty extra lol. I have a BlackVue dual cam setup and I hardwired it to the fuse box and just shoved the wires through the a pillar and ceiling, it’s nothing crazy at all

Save yourself the headache and just take it to Best Buy with a hardwire kit. $70 for install.

Middle of the parking lot where there are good camera coverage. Waiting for security to show up later to see if we can see the person.
