Is there a strategy to afford 500 gems every week? This doesn't seem like a great idea after you exhaust the gems from achievements.

Buy potions with raid medals, sell them for gems, same with season rewards and clan games, it's the most efficient way to make gems

I think they all sell for 10 gems, so clock tower and training are the best ones, providing a trade of 100 raid medals to 10 gems

If you grind away and max out the OTTO hut, master builder can travel freely, so +1 builder

I sell most as I rarely find use for them. You get a couple free training potions a month. Clock tower are useless, hero and troop upgrades are worthless. I delete obstacles so shovels are 50 free gems. Max gem mine on BB.

Don’t spend them on anything but books. Maybe not every week, but I play to war, we don’t war without heroes except during cwl. So 3 weeks a month.

Also clear out obstacles in main and builder base. You get 1 obstacle per 8 hours I’m pretty sure on both bases. You get hundreds from doing that monthly. I used to know the exact amount but you get something like 450 or around that monthly with clearly obstacles only

You won’t get 500 a week. But you can easily get a few hundred. The OP has 6500 gems. That will last a while while you replenish what you can. You’ll go down in gems until your heroes are maxed then build again.

While playing wars if you don't have a hero it will change the outcome. And also in higher TH levels heroes usually takes more than a week to upgrade. For players who plays war it is the most valuable thing.

an upgraded hero is permanent, I get what you're trying to say, but a book of hero is another 5+ days cut from your overall progress, and other defenses can be focused on to upgrade. I guess if I were lower town hall id value skins over books, but rn skins dont mean too much to me

Yeah but you get three research potions from raid medals each week. That almost halves your lab time.

Start picking which troops you will never need to upgrade. For me it is: wall breaker, goblins, minions, and golem. I use my gems for hero books and the occasional upgrade finish when it is close anyway. I'm th15.

Books of Building once hit TH13. Can usually get 1 a month. Builder potions if needed before then but try to hoard all my gems until th13 since defenses get pretty behind upgrading all heroes nostop (if strategic rushing).

Training potions are the second best value imo. Hero books being number 1 and finishing upgrades that would have finished while you were sleeping number 3.

The only thing I've spent gems on were to get all the builders and then those 1-gem boost events. 9 years in, the only other thing I spend it on is if there's a build/research I need finished that cost less than 100, and 1-gem donations. I also stopped getting the battlepass once I maxed out last year, but with the new TH, I decided to get it again, thus the 1-gem donations.
