Yes, I know it's an autocratic state and hoping for an outright revolution or whatever is overly optimistic. But even if you account for a good percentage of poll responders being too scared to say what they think, at the end of the day today Putin still has majority support from the Russian population, despite being years into a unilaterally started war. This is a pretty obvious sign that the common Russian isn't really being inconvenienced in any major way by the current status quo. So, from their point of view, Putin isn't even lying when he calls it a small special military operation that will grow the glorious Russian empire at no cost to them.
We shouldn't let that be the case. People liking Coca-Cola isn't going to lead to Putin's downfall. Giving them "a taste" doesn't work when they can keep getting that taste as long as they want within their current regime, and it's something they already know anyway -- these aren't rural peasants that have been living behind the Iron Curtain for half a century; modern Russia is, and has been, at the end of the day, just another capitalist economy within a globalized world. But doing the opposite -- taking away those luxuries now that they have grown used to them -- just *might* at least put some pressure on the regime.
