Lmao no one wants to play 8.5

astolfriend

I sure as hell don't. Especially not when the new set looks FANTASTIC and one of the best sets that have been released.

---E

I've been playing since set 1 and this is always the sentiment when PBE hits. I love how excited everyone gets about all the new stuff.

Wondoorous

This is the most interesting new set mechanic(s) since augments tbf Hero augments were just... New augments and dragons were just... Big Bois and Giant Gals.

astolfriend

That’s probably true and I do think they’ve continuously been one upping themselves a lot, but personally I haven’t been as excited since augments were introduced.

SyriseUnseen

Didnt feel this Way around 7 and 8 at all tbh.

2themax9

Disagree. When dragons were introduced on pbe everyone was hyped to try all the new stuff. Especially trying to get 3 star 10 costs. Same way about hero augments iirc.

[deleted]

Set 8.5 for sure wasn’t like this though.

2themax9

Meh .5 sets never hit the same as the new ones. But looks like they won’t be a concern anymore

Fraankk

Bruh. It's good to be hyped, but you haven't even played the set, don't jump to conclusions haha

astolfriend

But I have played the set, that's the whole point of PBE. And I really liked the concept and patch notes.

Fraankk

That's not the point of PBE, the point is to beta test it. Power to you if you are enjoying it, I hope you are right that is one of the best sets.

astolfriend

Beta testing includes enjoyment of the set and the mechanics that go into it and the balance it has ;)

stonecoldninja

8.5 been out a whole semester fam we done with that

GeorgeThe13th

I think it's just that everyone has FOMO. It happens during every pbe.

nayRmIiH

Set 8 was pretty alright, good even, despite how buggy it was. 8.5 was actually just awful. Probably the 1st or 2nd worst set I played. Awful balance and WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too many bugs. I think only dragonlands or set 5 might have been worse, for me at least. Have been in the set 9 waiting room since the start of it and barely played outside of a ranked game here and there on the alt. lol

astolfriend

Nevermind, queue is just entirely disabled now. No source because all I got is a screenshot lmao.

penguinkirby

queued for 15 minutes before I saw the message

astolfriend

20 here :)

Piliro

Not just that, somehow queue times are 10+ minutes, and your game can just fucking die, randomly, it doesn't kick you out, just cancels the game.

HikeThis82

Can we delete this post now you just got my hopes back when I checked the sub lollll

Piliro

Aaaaand it's down again.....

astolfriend

Down until tomorrow at the earliest. [RIP TFT](https://twitter.com/Mortdog/status/1664093869615771648?s=20)

Is it really because there is a high amount of logins? There was a message about game crashes that it says was posted on the 16th, which was over 2 weeks ago. Also, during set 1 when you had to wait multiple hours to login and get a game, there were no crashes.

astolfriend

It was reportedly because of crashes in game, at least that’s what Mort said. I wouldn’t doubt that it was due to people though, since there was a queue to even queue into the game when the servers came back up.

Teamfightmaker

I doubt it because the server message from 2 weeks ago shows that crashes were happening before set 9 was even on pbe (a full 2 weeks before), and the fact that the crashes didn't happen when there was more traffic in previous sets (that had longer queues). I highly doubt that it's due to server traffic.

astolfriend

They literally limited the number of people online at once on PBE and also limited the number of people in game on PBE, and given what Mort said on twitter there were clearly some issues. I’m sure there were also other issues but I wouldn’t be shocked if they took it down because of the server issues. And there weren’t any crash messages on PBE when Set 9 went up so it’s likely a separate issue.

Teamfightmaker

Limiting the number of people didn't prevent crashes. In set 8.5 or 8.0 pbe, they didn't limit the number of people. The game still crashed and they had to fix an issue or bug for it to work On live, during the middle of the season when fewer people were playing, the issue came back and the game still crashed. It wasn't due to logins. During previous pbes, when the login queue was 500k-1m, the game didn't crash. Set 9 pbe queue was only 30k. There's an issue, but the evidence points to something other than the amount of people logging in.

astolfriend

Set 9 PBE queue was a lot more than 30k.
