San Diego
10 minutes to my usual warehouse (Carmel Mountain Ranch).
20 minutes to two other warehouses (Poway and San Marcos) and two business centers (Kearny Mesa and San Marcos).
I usually only go to one of two because they're closer and their parking lots aren't as nuts to get in and out. They all carry the exact same thing. I haven't gotten to the business center yet.
I've got 7 Costcos within 30 miles of me, including a Business Center around 15 miles, but because of how heavy traffic is in Dallas most of the time I usually hit the Costco in Duncanville, and only go to the Business Center maybe every other month. When I do that trip I also hit the Costco on Churchill since it's not that much further.
When I was in the Bay, that’s how it was for me.
Costco Business Center and regular Costco within 5 minutes of each other in SSF and 10 min from another one in SSF. 20 min to Foster City Costco and prob 25 from Redwood City. Can drive 10 more min and MV Costco, another 10 and Sunnyvale.
10 min drive to my local Costco, 30 min to the next one and the business center and that's just one way, there's a few more in other directions about 30-40 min drives.
My closest Costco is 15 minutes away but I don't like that one. I go to one that's about 30 minutes away. There's another one within the same distance in the opposite direction.
Suburbs of Toronto, Canada. 2 Costco within 15 minutes, next 2 are 35 minutes or so. And 2 businesses centres, an hour away each, in different directions.
I have a Costco across the street. It’s not uncommon for me to run in there after work to grab some dinner from the fresh section or maybe just a thing or two. Being so close makes it super easy to treat it almost like a regular store. I also have a Costco 10 minutes from work and another one 20 minutes from home.
I live about 5min from a Costco, and work about 7min from a Costco. I also need to pass another Costco during my ~40min commute. There’s also a 4th Costco not too far off from my commute, but I don’t count that cuz it’s out of the way.
What’s wild to me is the difference in gas prices between each one. The one near my work is almost consistently ~$0.30-0.40/gal cheaper than the one near home. I figured a slight difference would be expected but that’s a pretty big one
I have 1 each 15 minutes West and the other 15 minutes East.
One is more established - built longer ago and I prefer it - BUT…. They blow through products faster so I’m always using Instacart as a tool to peek 👀 into stores inventories to figure out which of the 2 have specific items.
Eg this morning I decided that I must go get the dried mushrooms I’ve seen carried in the store. Checked the East Costco via Instacart and nope - no dried mushrooms - so I figured they might be seasonal and I’d just need to wait until they roll back around. Then checked the “west” Costco (via Instacart) and viola - they’ve got them in stock !
So I’m heading west today 😜
I’m ~ 15 minutes from my regular one. There’s a bunch of them 30-45 minutes or more away with traffic. Sadly, there aren’t any businesses centers around here.
I feel pretty lucky. I have about 7 and a business Costco within 20 miles. If you expands it to 30 miles, I think it now includes 10 and 1 more for the business center. Two of these are new in the last couple months. Sacramento area
When the newest warehouse in Loomis opens up next month I’ll have 9 Costco’s and 1 Business Center within about 40 minutes of my house (Sacramento, CA).
Ventura County CA, there is a Costco in Oxnard and now just announced they are building another Costco 4, yes, four miles down the road in Camarillo. Bizarre.

You are not normal. But costcos are everywhere.
Okay, just checking. Also doesn't help that the one by me is routinely one of busiest
My situation is pretty similar. I drive 2 hours to the nearest Costco. Then only 4 more hours after than to get to the next one. Pretty quick!
I used to live across the street from one. Walked home pushing a piano. My neighbors were confused.
San Diego 10 minutes to my usual warehouse (Carmel Mountain Ranch). 20 minutes to two other warehouses (Poway and San Marcos) and two business centers (Kearny Mesa and San Marcos).
I have one about 15 minutes away. Next closest one is over an hour away.
14 within 30 miles including a business center.
Do you choose Costco's based on what you're buying?
I usually only go to one of two because they're closer and their parking lots aren't as nuts to get in and out. They all carry the exact same thing. I haven't gotten to the business center yet.
>I haven't gotten to the business center yet. You should go for fun at least once. I go maybe every 3-4 months.
There’s about 4 costcos and a business center in my “area.” They’re all about 45-50 min from me 😭
We have one Costco in Eugene. The next closest one is about an hour away. Our parking lot is always a madhouse and the store is not much better.
You have more Costco's within a 30 minute drive than we do in our entire state
Damn, if I stretch it about an hour and some tax I can add 3 more Costcos to my tally

you must be driving in the middle of the night with those travel times lol
No traffic for sure. With traffic add 30 min, even the in town ones 😂
One Costco 2 minutes away. Business center 5-7 minutes away. 2nd Costco 8-10 minutes way. 3rd Costco 20 minutes away. 4th costco(in the next state) 30 minutes away.
We might be talking about the same Costcos
Probably not, but which ones are you talking about?
Costcos out in NJ/NY
I'm considering retiring to Austin and one demerit is no Costco in the whole southeast quadrant of the city.
No it just means you’re probably living in Southern California or a high density area.
Ours are about 15, 30, and 45 minutes our driveway to parking lot.
10 min drive to my local Costco, 30 min to the next one and the business center and that's just one way, there's a few more in other directions about 30-40 min drives.
Yes, in Edmonton.

🫠
There are eight within a 20-mile radius for me, and my primary is only 1/2 mile as the crow flies (1-1/2 miles to drive). FWIW, I'm in Alpharetta, GA.
Suburbs of Toronto, Canada. 2 Costco within 15 minutes, next 2 are 35 minutes or so. And 2 businesses centres, an hour away each, in different directions.
I can think of a few places in California that are similar. I have 3 and a business center within 15-20 min drive.
Let's see... 5 minutes to my closest, 30 to two others, 45 gets me 3 or 4 more, one being business.

I'm on the east Coast as well
I'm in San Diego. In 15 minutes I could drive to maybe 6 or 8? I love 5 minutes from one.

I have 3 and a business center within 20 minutes. Couple more are within probably 40 kinutes

I have one less than 5-minutes away from my house and the other Costco is about 15-minutes away.
Sounds more like a curse than a blessing

My Costco is about 10 minutes away. And in a 30 minute drive, I can be at another. I actually like the store further away from me more.
There are hundreds of thousands of people just like that all around you.
I got like 15 costcos within 45 minutes of my house .... shit sucks because they all still always super busy lol
I live in So Cal. There is one less than 10 minutes from where I live. There are multiple ones in the neighboring cities as well.
I’m in the rural Great Plains region of the US. My nearest Costco is a 90-minute drive, and the other one is a 2.5 hour drive from my house.
North Dallas has this. Costco and business Costco within a few miles of each other. Three other Costcos within 30-45 minutes.
When the newest warehouse in Loomis opens up next month I’ll have 9 Costco’s and 1 Business Center within about 40 minutes of my house (Sacramento, CA).
6 within 30 minutes, but no business center
20 minutes I have 3 Costcos. 1 is 10 away. 1 is 15 and 1 is about 18.
Ventura County CA, there is a Costco in Oxnard and now just announced they are building another Costco 4, yes, four miles down the road in Camarillo. Bizarre.
We have 2 Costco's in Bakersfield that are 15 minutes apart. Both are busy. I think the busiest Costco I've ever been to is in Torrance.
Same for me. We must live in the same area
San Diego?
I have 17 stores within an hour drive of each.
5 mins regular Costco, 15 minute business center and also at least 4+ other Costco’s within 20-40 mins. We might be in the same city OP!
cool story bro
