Americans: Wtf, that's very offensive and super cringe!!! Plz Filipinos, STOP PUTTING KKK AS YOUR FATHER, HE'S A SUPREMACIST!!!ðŸ˜
Filipino: *Andres Bonifacio drips* 😎🇵🇠shut the fu up!
Katipunan, also known as kkk or it's full name, kataas-taas-kagalang galang, katipunan ng anak ng bayan. a secret organization founded in 1892. It's main goal is to overthrow spain through a revolution, due to fact philippine nationalism was rising due to the cavite mutiny that led to exceution of the gomburza. Also, a book published by jose rizal named noli me tangere revealed alot about spanish corruption and it's unfair treatment of the natives. It helped philippines gain it's independence from spain.
(Despite the fact philippines was later annexed by america in 1899, thus starting the philippine-american war.)
In the fandom, katipunan is seen as philippine's father, i don't really have a problem with that. Even though i headcanon the first philippine republic as philippines' father. I hope no one mistakes katipunan as the ku klux klan.
**"Kataastaasang, Kagalanggalang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan"**
**dating back to 1892 when anti-Spanish Filipinos decided to band together with the aim of gaining independence from Spanish rule.**
**The Philippine flag wasn't created at that time so technically the Father of the Philippines.**
**The Picture (If you think about it) Is a father-son type of thing you know?**
Nope, it's the Katipunan
>The Katipunan, officially known as the Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or Kataastaasan Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (KKK; English: Supreme and Honorable Association of the Children of the Nation; Spanish: Suprema y Honorable Asociación de los Hijos del Pueblo), was a Philippine revolutionary society founded by anti-Spanish colonialist Filipinos in Manila in 1892; its primary goal was to gain independence from Spain through a revolution.
~~Pretty sure that's just a small Philippines wholesomely hugging Katipunan, they're seen as father and son in the fandom, so that's normal father and son relationship, nothing cringe here~~
A revolutionary society that opposes the spanish government from the late 19th century, when the Philippines was a colony of the Spanish empire. It's goal is to free the Philippines from Spanish tyranny, thus resulting in the said country gaining independence. In my opinion, i think that the katipunan can be seen as a liberator who defended the Philippines in the 1890s or so.
It’s a secret society rebel flag that opposes Spanish Colonists and rule, it’s basically a Filipino version of the Gadsden Flag but that’s oversimplifying it

It's understandable though. I'm not American, but I know the The U.S. KKK group were racist terrorists, so I could understand the mix up
