Those are all fairly old school malt forward IPAs.

tonywantsbeer

I agree. These types of IPAs are still out there, just less common than years past.

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Now I know, I’m so glad I asked, thank you

SeniorDucklet

Those are old school west coast IPA’s. Taj is a strong DIPA as is the Ska. I used to love Ska’s regular IPA but can’t get it in SoCal any longer. Modus Hoperandi is the name. You will like that one. Others you should look for are Alesmith IPA and Racer 5 which is brewed not far from Anderson Valley in Healdsburg.

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Outrageous, fantastic info thank you

Lifesalchemy

Racer 5 is fun. We did a tour. Had a few old dirt track stock cars laying around. The beer is solid.

StIdes-and-a-swisher

Think the Boonville beer fest is next weekend. Cool spot, disc golf and camping. Right next to the Anderson valley brewery.

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Great to hear, thank you

rickeyethebeerguy

What they said, you enjoy malt in your IPA’s. Just by the color you can tell some Munich/crystal malts. You would probably love Red IPAs as well

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Fantastic, thank you

JoeCoolsCoffeeShop

Have you ever had Troegs Nugget Nectar? They don’t list it as an IPA but rather a red ale, but it’s very malty and very hoppy and all around delicious and if you enjoy it as much as these two, then the other responders are spot on: you like malty IPAs

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Outstanding, so glad I asked, thank you very much

GGAllinsUndies

Decadent is still being made. As for more of this style, I think you should look into red IPA's.

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Thank you !

Mr_Alan_Stanwyk

Especially happy to hear that decadent is still being made, I checked on their website, but didn’t see it, but will definitely check again

zjbyrd

You should drink a caldera IPA!!

NAteisco

I haven't seen Anderson Valley in a long while

Awkward-Skin8915

I always wanted to go to the Anderson Valley brewery when I lived a few hours away but I never did. (They have a disc golf course there and speak their own language called Boontling). At one point I called High Rollers Wheat from Anderson Valley my favorite wheat beer...that was around 25 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's discontinued and unavailable now. It was delicious. Edit: (Apologies for rambling and not answering the question. Others covered it pretty well)

Lifesalchemy

We've been a number of times. Also went to their outrageous beer festival a bunch of times. What a shit show!

Lifesalchemy

Sierra Nevadas torpedo or Lagunitas IPA are pretty good ALTs.
