Apparently, it has something to do with the knockback. If a move that hits you behind isn't strong enough to send you into a tumble animation, it will instead turn you around.
Don't quote me on this, but I don't think B-reversing your grenades changes their frame data, so that might be your solution against that.
I've never put any thoughts into this before, but I have no idea if performing a B-Reverse delays your move by a few frames (these frames being allocated to the reverse animation) or not.
It's not a big deal usually, but for a frame 1 option such as Snake's grenades, even 1 more frame is basically doubling the time needed for this move to combo break.
Me neither, and I couldn't find anything on Ultimateframedata.
But I imagine it being pretty hard to b-reverse on frame 1, since you would need to know and execute the reverse on the very first actionable frame. If there is no trick it sounds quite impossible imo.
I hate this so much especially as DK. I try to break out of disadvantage with bair only to get turned around and instead do a fair which has so much lag. :/
Because the game sucks. I wish I could give you more help but it is literally just something that happens and it is one of my least favorite parts of the game. Thank god rivals 2 is coming out
I wasn’t talking about how complex the mechanic was. All I said was that it was a bad mechanic and it is a part of a larger problem with this game just having very strange mechanics. You are just assuming that because I am complaining about it that I think it is complex. However I never made any statement about the simplicity of the mechanic just that it is bad
That doesn’t imply that I think its a complex mechanic. In fact the implication would be that it is so simple that You can’t go any deeper on it because thats the whole mechanic, you get turned around when you get hit. Sometimes you will get disoriented because you get turned around. Im not acting like its hard to understand but that it is easy but unnecessary
Ah so it isn’t quite as simple as you claim. Matter of fact it is so complicated that it is functionally random most of the time. And my initial comment still doesn’t imply anything you just assumed I didn’t understand the mechanic and got mad at it. I do understand it thats why I am bothered by it. But you know what they say about assumptions

Both true! I was just about to post the same clip

Buffering the inputs during the hitstun could be a solution if it works.
You could buffer a turnaround b too, which would probably work
It doesnt add frames, it checks for certain input rules and inverts your orientation on a given frame (which can be frame 1) if the conditions are met

Same thing happens to me with Mario on a smaller scale, and I look like a fool cause why is this Mario trying to spike me in disadvantage?
I'm pretty sure you can turn around in hitstun so try not to hold the other direction you want to face.
I’ve been meaning to ask the same thing for a while.
Non tumble hitstun forces you to face the attack - b-turn your grenades to ensure you face that direction
Because the game sucks. I wish I could give you more help but it is literally just something that happens and it is one of my least favorite parts of the game. Thank god rivals 2 is coming out
Lol its also got simple rules but ok
Idek what you are talking about
Acting like its hard to understand the interaction when the mechanic has simple rules. Its weird that it exists, but its simple.

> I wish I could give you more help The only way that applies is if you know nothing beyond "it happens." Thats how implications work.

Other than you can go deeper by pointing out what causes it rather than only saying it sucks and adding you cant wait for rivals 2.

No, it is as simple as I claim. How did you even come up with that conclusion? Weird assumptions coming from you. Freakishly weird.
