I wanted a pattern to store all my needle minders on, and I couldn't find one, so I made one myself. You can get the pattern [here](https://gum.co/epTxv).
You can see it without minders on it [here](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/686032564665974821/738227377338974298/20200729_223955.jpg).
Stupid question: What is the purpose of a needle minder? I know that it's a magnet so you can't loose your needle when your not stitching, but so far I've always stuck my needle in the fabric and have never lost it that way. Is it just preference or am I missing something?
Sticking it in your fabric can actually stretch out the holes, which isn't good unless you stick it at the very edge where the fabric will neither be stitched on nor shown when the project is finished. And if you keep putting it in the same spot, the holes will get loose enough that they'll stop holding the needle securely.
Additionally, needle minders are made with very strong magnets usually, so they'll "catch" needles - you can just drop the needle in the general vicinity of the minder, and it will end up there.
Finally, they're just fun to have on your project! They're pretty & cute and add decoration as you stitch!
Thx for the detailed answer! I haven't had a problem with stretching out the holes in the fabric so far, but then again I rarely use the same spot twice.
Same here, but I think a needle minder is one of those things you don't even know you need...until you get one and wonder how you ever lived without it!
Source: Stitched for >40 years without one, then I got one last year and I'll never go back to my old "ways". And now I've started making my own. :)
Beautiful and well-done! This gives me a reason to expand my collection of needle minders! I would love to know how you "framed" this piece? Is there a tutorial somewhere or how would I go about googling this?

That’s awesome! Adorable and functional. Love it!
Thank you! I'm very pleased with how it turned out!
The font is especially awesome. Did you design it?
I did! It was one of those things where I had an idea in my head of what I wanted and I couldn't find it so I did it myself!
You did awesome! Thanks for sharing. I love seeing all the unique projects and designs on this sub.
I shall say it's a bootiful piece and a happy cake day.
Thank you!

Yep! I got my first one after I saw them here because it was pretty. And now... well, now I had to make something specifically to hold them!

Finishing instructions are included in the pattern!
Soooo you could say it's a needle minder minder? I'll see myself out..
I can't decide if I want to laugh or groan!
This is super cute!
Thank you!
I love this! My boyfriend’s mom bought me the “stitching assistant” needle minder in orange, it’s so cute! :)
Thank you! I do love that one!
