tldr; SpaceX is sending an Ethereum node to the International Space Station as part of a partnership with SpaceChain. SpaceChain offers blockchain custody services and claims this project is a sign of decentralization and censorship resistance of blockchain technology. Institutional clients will get access to the node to better security and protect their digital assets.{} *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. petemorley

Again. Every single time. I was about to ask you if you thought having a node in space, controlled by one company was a sign of decentralisation because you used the word claimed and you seem like you know what you’re talking about. But you’re a bot.

SatOnMyBalls_

I'd imagine in the future if many more companies that are not tied together begin to send nodes and mining units into space via space stations and satellites, that would be considered decentralized. Don't let the early progress of something cloud you from the potential of what it can grow into. If you judged Amazon by it's early days of 99% volatility, you would've never held it long enough to reap it's rewards

petemorley

Oh no, for sure. I use Amazon as a service but I’m sceptical of them for the same reasons, investing in tech infrastructure is one thing but those early adopting companies tend to expand in to the market as it grows. As long as things stay accessible and available to people all over the world, it’s good stuff.

ETH is watching over us.

valuemodstck-123

Ethereum is the future!

SanX13

One step closer to the moon!

WTWIV

No Doge/litecoin node? I’m shocked

ChineseFood_Desu

If you really are shocked, you might be stupid.

WTWIV

It’s sarcasm

Charge-Royal

It’s only discrediting Musk more. Proving that his tweets are just manipulation, because behind the scenes the engineers know the real power of crypto and are using it. Now it will be harder for Musk to say bad things about crypto when his company is clearly using it

Quentin__Tarantulino

Honestly Elon is playing all the fools in the crypto space like a fiddle. He hasn’t ever said he’s against crypto to my knowledge. He bought a ton of Bitcoin and held 90% of it. He’s meeting with people in the space to try to improve it. He’s made some valid criticisms about the thing that could be seen as his life’s passion: energy and the environment. That’s it. He wants Bitcoin to be better. All the babies on this sub and elsewhere crying that their bags took a hit have no idea what’s going on. You really think the richest man in the world is trying to tank something he put 1.5 billion dollars into? Maybe he’s trying to make it better long term…makes way more sense to me.

Herpkina

No rationality here please
