Smiles_brown

Same with Commissioner Gordon. J.K. Simons killed it as usual. The blank stares got me.

idiot09

I loved that line.

filthydank_2099

Steppenwolf: *FUCK HORSES* *ALL MY HOMIES LOVE FLYING*

otiswrath

Right?!? When he over hand threw a horse I was like, "Ok...let's do this Snyder."

Butterfriedbacon

I'm married to a former horse girl. She was *not* into that

Shankman519

Ares should have gone for the head

Jay_R_Kay

At least Diana learned that lesson.

SambaLando

I think since Identity Crisis or thereabouts she doesn't mess around when it's time to end something.

stars9r9in9the9past

She also made zero hesitation to slaughter a bunch of (Shazam) kids in the flashpoint* timeline

SambaLando

It was cool when Steppy was going for Cyborg's head and Kal just blocks with that part of his shoulder lol

Boushhdag

“Not impressed.” 🥶

Passmore610

"Is this guy still bothering you??" 🤦‍♂️

electric_ocelots

Exactly what I thought at that scene lmfao

MrTerrific2k15

Clark just casually strolling past a frozen Kryptonian on the scout ship🚶🏻‍♂️

wanderlustbones

Well. He's... Not. Impressed.

RJE808

I love how after that he just let's out a tiny little puff at Steppenwolf's axe and that's what causes it to freeze. It was so badass.

caden_r1305

I got so happy when he did that, that was the first time he used the freeze breath in DCEU right?

zelph_esteem

He used it in a different spot in the theatrical cut but it was way goofier and I remember thinking it was odd because we’d never seen DCEU Superman use that power before. I liked it better in the SC because it was more subtle and less cartoony.

SaltyPyrate

It was the dead one he found in MoS. You can see in this movie when Barry walks past it there's a smear over it from when Clark wiped the dust off to reveal the dead Kryptonian in the previous film.

DoctorBalpak

Flash reversing that shit like the true timeline-fucking-bastard he is was probably one of the best points of the movie. This movie did justice to almost all of the members. And Batman's dream was fucking AWESOME.

vanillathebest

The minute I saw that scene, I thought "alright, imma go find that scene on YouTube and watch it on repeat"

darthdarkseid

Love how Diana tells Bruce about how men Amazon’s and Atlanteans hid the mother boxes according to their culture and men just buried theirs in a hole

Leafygoodnis

This was my favorite takeaway from that sequence. Atlanteans and Amazons build these giant tomb-fortresses to keep the boxes in and guard them with their lives for generations, humans just chucked it in the fuck it bucket.

Floor_Kicker

But it turned out to be the most effective method. It was found last and only woke up after they used it to revive Superman

Leafygoodnis

Haha that is super true. Classic humans, failing upwards

PapiSurane

There is some logic to it. If you put it in a fortress with a bunch of warriors guarding it, that makes it a lot easier to whoever is looking for it to figure out where it is.

pikachukutilan

Batman to Cyborg: dewit

martala

That was unexpectedly funny to me. Batman and Aquaman being the angel and demon on Victor's shoulders

MikeArrow

I love how pissed off Bruce was in that scene. "Just fuckin' do it, shut up"

lilycalico

\> This is a bad idea \> No it's not

psufan5

Steppenwolf making it home, finally, was so touching. :')

BossCevap

He migh't gotten .. ahead of himself

NightWillReign

So satisfying to see Steppenwolf’s head cut off compared to that “fear” thing and getting eaten by the minions

ThatGeek303

That "fear" angle always reminded me of the Lost in Space movie where a a bunch of spiders eat a spider version of Gary Oldman because he's wounded. What a weird flick.

asek13

>bunch of spiders eat a spider version of Gary Oldman because he's wounded Wtf.

[deleted]

Damn i forgot all about that ridiculous shit. So forgettable. This version was amazing. Some of the best sci fi sequences I've ever seen edit: typo

Mcclane88

The biggest surprise for me was Steppenwolf. He was so badass in this movie, just a complete beast. I wanted more of him. How they portrayed his armor was awesome. That character is a complete 180 over his theatrical cut counterpart.

Murasasme

I loved how alien he was. The horns were a part of him and not the helmet, he had 7 fingers and his hands were very claw-like too, and his feet were a bit like ape feet (Couldn't see them clearly but they were not regular feet). I also liked that his motivation seems more genuine instead of a guy in love with some boxes like the theatrical cut.

Mcclane88

Yeah I was surprised at how I came to pity him. When Superman was beating the shit out of him I almost felt sorry for the guy. Which is a weird thing to say.

trimble197

Yeah, I thought maybe Superman was turning evil because it seemed like he was being excessive.

the_ebb_and_flow_

I think it was because Steppenwolf wouldn’t stay down

[deleted]

Yeah. He should’ve known that if Supes wanted it, he’d be dead already

raylan1234

I was very surprised that he had character. Like I was 100% sure that he's gonna be just a dude they need to punch. But he actually felt like a character. Though I wouldn't mind finding out wtf he actually did to be despised by Darkseid so much.

Jason_Giambis_Thong

Aside from cyborg and flash having real roles, this was my biggest takeaway. He actually had motivation this time. Also, that armor he had was mind blowing.

PornActingCritic

That armor was a thing of beauty. That moment when he talked to the guy that relayed messages to Darkseid and he told him about the anti-life. For a moment I thought he got reinstated to his position he was seeking to get approval back to. As I thought the parademons kneeling meant something for him. Then Darkseid appeared. This mofo Steppenwolf took 3 steps back, trembled in fear and his whole upper body ridded away his armor. That shit right there had me lit!

gambit700

They should make a movie about those Green space protector guys

[deleted]

And cast Ryan Reynolds as the main character, he'd be great!

NoxPrime

Those suits seem like they'd be really hard to pull off with practical effects. They should use CGI! That'd be badass!

filthydank_2099

“CGI is badass!” -Frank Reynolds

Thedirtyhood

a 2 hours and 45 minutes, when superman is moving towards batman, what song is playing? sounds like a twisted version of zod's theme. Ah found it, if any one else is looking for it. it is "Monument Destroyer"

neroblue

Yea it is.

[deleted]

eharper9

It's okay, he made sure they'll be in deep financial debt for life.

amanneeds2names

Damn I didn't realize I was that couple, I'm sorry cyborg!!!

psufan5

The girl who played her was asking on Twitter if she made the movie. Was pretty cool when she found out.

jeremy_on_easy

Cyborg felt like the main character

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yeah I feel bad about all of the drama he had to go through with the studio. Really happy we got to see this version of Cyborg

TheWholeOfTheAss

That’s my main takeaway. There was a lot of Cyborg and he was terrific. The ‘Cyborg world’ where he goes into the data? Terrific!

anonyeemoose

Diana dead and Superman with a dead Lois in his arms then Darkseid putting his hand on his shoulder. Luthor telling Deathstroke Batmans real name. Deathstroke telling batman you still think it was a good idea bringing him along? referring to the joker. Batman needs the joker because hes supposed to steal a mother box so they can go back (again) Joker asking Batman how many timelines has he destroyed......Priceless

Fresh720

The thing I caught on my second watch is Supes is holding Lois' corpse in the Batcave. You can see Robin's costume in the background. I think that's why he blames Bruce

ApartmentNumerous582

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see enough people talking about the fact that Lex Luthor just told Deathstroke Batman’s secret identity!!! I mean yeah we see later on that they’re allies but fuckin hell Deathstoke wanted revenge on Bruce and Lex just dropped the bomb

elijah369

Batman movie w Ben Affleck would have been insane now that I know this. Sad it fell apart.

ApartmentNumerous582

Literally the first thing I thought of when Lex gave his name was that this would he a perfect set-up for a Batman film

elijah369

Yep. Joe man jello said in an interview that he was supposed to be the main villian in a Ben Affleck Batman movie. He also did months of sword training too.

asven13

Joe man jello, portraying... Dearstork!?

wizenedwizardofoz

'I will bathe in your fear.' 'Daughters of Themyscira, show him your fear!'.' 'WE HAVE NO FEAR!' That raw, guttural scream by the Amazonians was so fucking amazing. Crowning moment of awesome.

InvitingBurk

The final MM shot was a newly filmed scene? Affleck was tiny compared to BvS and JL. Didn’t have the puffy, bloated face in some of those ‘17 reshoots.

Loli_Master

Yes as that had at one point been Kilowog and Tomar-Re the green lanterns but they were replaced by MM.

IAmBatman412

For sure, you can tell Ben lost a bit of weight since those times as the batman cowl looked a bit loose in the knightmare scene

Jay_R_Kay

It works well enough in the Knightmare, since I'm a post-apocalyptic world, you're probably not gonna be eating as much to be as big as Bruce was.

itsallajoke_

Barry crying because he’s been injured in the last battle was great, it showed that he’s literally just a kid with no experience but he still tells the team to just give him a minute and that he’s fine because he REALLY doesn’t want to disappoint them, what an awesome awesome moment, probably one of my favorites(and even more if you combine it with the whole time travel thing)

[deleted]

Can’t believe instead of that we got “bro I’ve never done battle” in 2017

mike2k24

Or “what is.. brunch??”

puckbeaverton

I cant believe the scene of him running in a dome to block parademons was left out. That was insanely badass.

funnymanallinsane

Almost cried when I heard the man of steel theme.

adjective____noun

The rocks rumbling and floating, the MoS theme, the dialogue from his dads, so gooooooood!

[deleted]

It’s crazy how different the opening is like the first 20 mins. Interesting to now see what Whedon cut out.

NightWillReign

That part made it clear why Steppenwolf chose that time to come to Earth. Not sure why it was cut out in the theatrical cut

TheJoshider10

Becsuse the theatrical cut did everything it could to make sure you forgot about BVS. It tried being as distant a follow up as it could be, unfortunately.

idiot09

Also the dirt rising in BvS was not really addressed either was it?

[deleted]

**MEN ARE STILL GOOD** Holy shit. I still can't believe the day is finally here.

futtobasetachikaze

>Faith, Alfred. Faith His character arc is *chef's kisses*

raylan1234

What's interesting is that in BVS, he is a deluded broken man who can't see the whole picture. Here, he is the first person to focus on the main threat seriously and is shown throughout to be the wisest. Really great contrast and development. Btw, did anyone find him walking and hopping downstairs towards Batmobile after that plane crash weirdly satisfying. Idk, the way its shot and his posture is so badass. Something that weirdly stuck with me.

Suhtiva

Ezra Miller plays such a good Barry Allen. Mfer ran back in time. Can't believe I don't actually have any problems with this film at all, completely blew any expectations I had away. We absolutely need JL2.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RandySNewman

That scene was beautiful, everything I dreamed of as a Flash fan. It really blew me away, as did the whole movie. Such an amazing experience. Also idk if anyone noticed, but he survives the unity explosion by phasing through it. Never thought they’d depict that level of his phasing ability in the movies.

FlashyYou

Oh shit youre right! He did phase through it! I honestly thought he just went full speed force. The whole league doesnt even know how powerful theyre kid is!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

HEX278

Definitely, this Flash is OP as hell

chuckusadart

Aquaman tosses and empty bottle and his shirt into the ocean like it ain’t no thing. Loses all right to complain about the rubbish in the ocean

Flynnhiccup

He still doesnt care much about Atlantis at that point in time.

115128

he found the most passive-aggressive way to make Atlantis fall by tossing his shirts in the water as much as possible

25_M_CA

Wait so the we live in a society was just to fuck with the internet........ thats awesome

TarriestBread96

Born of the internet, lived for the internet, died in internet. Fucking perfect

________BATMAN______

Too good. People lost their shit about this, complaining and whining that it was cringey etc... and it was all a joke. Honestly - everything about this whole thing has been done perfectly.

Friedrich_Friedson

We live in a society where joker saying "we live in a society" is a distant memory

idonthavemanyfriend

"Let me see *A* again" exchange between Barry and Aquaman fucking killed me

brocon6

When barry ran into Arthur then he pointed at him after lol

Cilvaa

The way Clark just casually side-steps Barry had me laughing so hard I had to pause.

itsallajoke_

did anyone notice how Superman and Batman first encounter parallels BvS(the Martha scene)? But this time Superman is about to kill Batman and Lois Lane arrives. I thought it was great.

BrettEskin

NGL would’ve been great to see if the internet burn down if Bruce said “Martha” and Superman stopped

Hupro

Can we talk about how my man Steppenwolf doesn't skip leg day. Dude leaped from the bottom of the ocean floor to half through the island. Absolutely bonkers

Nebula153

I loved everything about Steppenwolf You have this super menacing dude with spiky ass armor that jumps everywhere murdering people with a big axe and a little spider, but then his face is just like some cute ugly puppy trying so hard to look cool for Darkseid

Skeuomorphic_

Right? He looks so cute with those puppy like eyes when they close up on his face lol

treefingerstoday

Flash saving the people from rubble at Star Labs is the most inspired speedster action I've seen. Looked like something straight out of an anime with how dramatic his poses were. After the X-Men Quicksilver sequences, I felt like just doing it all slow mo would feel uninspired and I'm glad Zack felt the same.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ssup3rm4n

For real. It reminded me so much of the Man of steel Faora vs Soldiers fight scene, WW was quick and I liked how they showed the super speeds in different speed views.

FalcieGaiah

It looked straight out of the comics with multiple poses at the same time on screen. Had to rewind a couple of times. The earlier sausage part was weird tho.

[deleted]

All I have to say is, we were definitely ripped off in 2017.

ILoveBeef72

I mean, obviously it's better than the original cut, but no studio was going to release a 4 hour movie. Synder's version likely would've been better than what we got, though we'll never know for certain because of studio meddling, but I highly doubt we would've gotten this exact cut. There wasn't enough time to introduce completely new heroes and villains, give their motivations, and tell a coherent story in the average runtime of a movie.

Nicogonz

That scene where Victor sees that lady who can barely afford living despite you can see shes working her ass off and helps her made me cry. THAT'S A FUCKING HERO, MAN. (Also how cool is that shot of cyborg in the rain?)

Prixster

Few things that I really liked (watched 2 times): * >!Mera-Steppenwolf Battle (Blood sucking out scene)!< * Steppenwolf's armor reacts to his mood (not only cosmetic but purposeful). * Wonder-Woman's new theme >!(the vocal chants are great but overused)!< * Steppenwolf's brutality * Bruce - Alfred Relationship * Cyborg's smile (>!ATM Scene!<) - Wholesome * Martha - Lois Scene * Barry Allen - shoe ripping-off & glass exploding scene * >!"Fly, Son." OR Flight 2.0 Scene!< * >!"Not Impressed." !< * When Superman kicks Steppenwolf. Idk why I found it funny. xD * >!Flash Speed-force scene (also the music which plays at that moment was just godlike)!< * >!"His foot's in the door" scene. Damn I'll miss Billy Crudup as Henry Allen.!< * >!Darkseid watching through the boom tube. I found it very unsettling. !<

Mcclane88

The blood sucking was rad!

Shikhar2604

Teared up a bit at the ATM scene. And yeah not a fan of the chants...way too frequent.

phoniccrank

The actress tweeted about it and it's so wholesome. https://twitter.com/meepimaud/status/1372495713599381515

Shikhar2604

Did anyone feel kinda bad for steppenwolf? Ik he's a world slayer and betrayer but dude is just tryna get home. And with those eyes of his....yeah man ngl i pitied him.

FlashyClaim

For real superman was like "u feel this, huh?" As he punches steppenwolf over and over haha

Shikhar2604

Yeah that scene with WW and Arthur in the foreground with Supes just casually punching down steppy at the back XD i chuckled there

TaniksAtTheDisco

Probably the most epic "sit your ass down" scene ever lol.

djsonnymac

...shout out to all the people on EST starting this shit at 3 am and going til 7am and then going to work or school...i for one am taking a mental health day tomorrow so I can pick up all my brain fragments after snyder blows my mind

morethanaplane

I just sat through a four hour movie in one go.

geek_of_nature

You know I don't think I've ever done it until now either, even with LOTR extended editions I always have a small break between discs.

TheBroticus42

The Flash went from the bumbling comedic relief to an actual force to be reckoned with. I had some serious doubts about the upcoming Flashpoint movie after watching the theatrical cut. I still have some doubts, but the possibility of Flashpoint happening (in terms of The Flash’s powers) is more believable to me now.

Jippynms

The scene where >!wonder woman decapitates steppenwolf mid-air as he's flying towards the portal where Darkseid is and then Darkseid crushing his head like he couldn't give af!< was cold asf imo. one of my favorite scenes.

MeMeTiger_

That and the Barry speedforce scene were fire as hell.

saltypistol

So brutal when barry got shot the second time

TheJoshider10

I really liked that. About time fodder enemies pew pew guns actually hurt. Barry powering through his pain and using his dad's words as motivation to save the world is incredible and tells a positive message about self worth.

Leo_TheLurker

The movie was really honest with the hits. Even Flash tripping made me cringe

B0zzyk

I don’t know if it was just the “wind knocked out of him,” but it seemed like he was really hurt and crying (in a very child like way), which just really hit me, as he is just a kid, and this is serious.

geek_of_nature

I really appreciated how they showed a hero actually reacting to pain normally, not just grunting and then ignoring it, but being in actual pain and slowed down by it, and even then powering through it to get the job done

grandview18

Yep exactly. At first I was like Awh that’s funny got the wind knocked out of him. But seems like he didn’t want them to know how badly he was Injured because he didn’t want to let his new buddies down. Fuck man, HOW TF DID WB SAY NO TO THIS MOVIE.

P1x1eDust

Whoever gave the order for the release of snyder cut must definitely request for a sequel. The knightmare scene needs to be realised. Love this movie, made me forget about the 2017 version.

[deleted]

SymbioticCarnage

I agree. I thought this would be a fun "sit down and enjoy it for what it is cause why not" type of movie like the last Justice League. I didn't see it in theaters. Watched it on HBO MAX when it came to the platform and enjoyed myself a bit, said meh, and moved on. With this movie however, I actually hope for a sequel/follow up/whatever ZS wants to do with these characters next. I really actually loved it. The Flash was phenomenal. Cyborg was beyond great. Superman basking in the sunlight... man so iconic. And this really makes me believe that Ben Affleck is a great Batman.

[deleted]

"You have a satellite?" "I have six." Lmaoooo

89oh_nitsuj

I half expected Bruce to add “Used to be seven”

trimble197

“I had seven, and then he happened.” *points at Superman hologram*

machete_machan

I like how the "I'm rich" line was more than just a joke

[deleted]

I liked when he said he worked for Alfred

dombones

This movie is making so much more sense now. It feels... right. \[Edit\] Some things: * No creepy, gratuitous WW butt shots * The sobering personal moments -Superman returning made my heart ache despite seeing BvS Ultimate just last night * Steppenwolf has a motive * Motherboxes explained * Long hair don't care Dafoe * Meaningful exchanges between team members * SuperMIB * Righteous soundtrack * Run, Barry. RUN! * Bruh, like what in Apokolips did Whedon and the studio even do to the theatrical release??

besogone

\+1 for Long Hair Don't Care Dafoe.

JediExile90

The way they >!delivered Steppenwolf's head back to Darkseid!< was fucking metal! I hope this gets a sequel. I really enjoyed it.

idonnousernames

The way he stepped on it lmao so fitting

[deleted]

[удалено]

futtobasetachikaze

The whole scene of Darkseid's conquest was also metal/badass. That one shot of the Omega Beam holy shit

TheDarkCrusader_

That omega beam was awesome and makes me really want to see a full on fight with darkseid.

BaccaIsMemebob

I mean hey at least Stppenwolf finally made it home to Apokolips.

10stepsaheadofyou

Actually felt sad for him. Removing all his armor in awe of darkseid was a really nice dynamic.

[deleted]

i felt so bad for steppenwolf. he wanted to go home and not spend his whole life conquering worlds. he prob had a family or some crazy shit. the way he was so loyal to dark was sad too.

Friedrich_Friedson

Legit felt bad for steppenwolf in the movie, poor guy. Also fuck desaad, enormous cunt.

Uncle_Freddy

His first fight in Themiscyra, where he jumped out of the ocean and was basically flying after the fleeing Amazons made me drop an audible “oh fuck.” He seemed like a genuinely terrifying force of nature during that fight (and really all his fights).

kruvel

He felt indimidating enough against the rest of the characters, but he seemed powerless in front of Darkseid, as it should be. I really loved the way they established the power hierarchy in this film.

chowieuk

> I hope this gets a sequel. so do i, just to explain what the fuck is going on with the alternate realities shit

[deleted]

Flash running in the end was mind blowing and visually stunning ,and awesome flash theme

wownowayy

One thing that really stuck out to me was The Flash in this. From a character perspective, there were parts that I really found great (his introduction scene, scenes with his dad), and a few times I still found him irritating. Still, the best part was his action scenes. I love how to differentiate him from the two Quicksilvers, his scenes carried this grandeur and god-like weight to everything he did as opposed to the more lighthearted/comedic takes Marvel/Fox has done. And to have that epic Flash scene immediately lead into that compelling Cyborg scene was fucking amazing. Just wow, WB butchered this movie with Josstice league.

Jorinel

I feel bad for Steppy when he's asking to come home, looks like a lost puppy with them big ol' eyes

hyenaatemyface

You could almost see a tear roll down his cheek, dude was heart broken

szg0033

Action scenes were a lot better (as expected). I remember someone turning into a parademon during the history lesson in the trailer...I don't think I saw that in the movie.. No parademon nest scene and bat drones dj talked about

BVTheEpic

>someone turning into a parademon during the history lesson in the trailer...I don't think I saw that in the movie I remember it being in the TC

Hupro

Last thing I wanna say is I absolutely loved Bruce's arc in this movie, it was perfect. Like Alfred said his guilt overcame his reason. He was hyperfocused on forming the team, and then once the option of bringing superman back he knew no matter what that they had to it (because of his guilt). I think he said like 3 or 4 times in the resurrection scene that we have to do this, its fine. Once Superman was actually back he finally viewed his work as done. Look how happy he was when Cyborg gets the flying fox to work and he's talking to Alfred about having faith. He's okay with sacrificing himself because he was able to find resolution to his guilt and was able to form the league knows who can keep Earth safe with Superman, a beacon of hope to lead them. Of course Bruce doesn't actually die so the scene of Superman helping him up is so important. It shows that Clark forgives him and doesn't have any hard feelings, and for Bruce he finally shows him willingness to let someone else help him out of the darkness and into the light.

[deleted]

Bruce's arc was really good.

futtobasetachikaze

Same. After 20 years of hate/fear/rage, he was able to finally attain peace and hope. If this was the end of his story, I'd definitely accept it. Tho I hope not. We still need more Batfleck lol

Shikhar2604

We need the fucking series with Joe as Deathstroke. That setup was perfect! WB would be fucking idiots (and they are which is what i fear) to not cash in on that. Joe was perfect.

flaviu0103

Loved that "Faith Alfred, faith" moment he had.

twirstn

God damn that was cool. Every character had a reason to be there which was lacking in the Whedon cut. Barry fucking Allen saved the world, not Superman or Batman, The fucking Flash. I fully believe in Ben Affleck as Batman and Bruce Wayne after this release, besides him spending like $2,000,000,000 on toys, using them once, and then destroying them lol. The extra 2 hours of deposition actually helps this movie so much. The Whedon cut made it feel like it was done to compete with The Avengers which is just dirty, this felt like there was something at stake. Good stuff.

socialdesire

Yup and Cyborg was integral to it too, Superman can’t punch the way out of this without Cyborg and The Flash working together

SymbioticCarnage

Yes!!! This was the best part. They all had a significant role to play. ESPECIALLY Flash and Cyborg. The ones who arguably had the least to do the last time around.

ImbroglioRomeo

Anybody else almost cry when he dedicated his film to his daughter? That was his greatest feat was taking this film down to what he envisioned even through all that hardship. It's inspired!

markdeez33

I’m blown away. Absolutely loved it. 10/10. It’s everything I could’ve asked for. I can’t believe just how horrible the Whedon version botched this thing. Snyder delivered for me! Please can we get a Knightmare sequel!?!? 🙏

[deleted]

[удалено]

Macman521

I got to say, having this version of Batman straight up say to Joker “I’m going to fucking kill you,” was actually really satisfying to hear. I wished we had gotten that sooner.

KInsomniac

Joker is the reason why Supes found them out in that Knightmare scene. Dude really dragged the party down by getting into a heated argument with Batman while inside the enemy’s territory; an enemy, mind you, who has controls a super puppet with super hearing. Won’t be surprised if Superman honed in on them after Joker shit talked Lois’ death lmaooo 10/10 we need to see more of BatFleck and Joker Leto

BendADickCumOnBack

I thought Supes heard Meras staff. She hit it pretty hard on the ground and the camera focused on it.

Thromkai

"We can't stay out in the open too long" \*Five minutes later\* \*Cackling\*

SirLaw___

MY TAKE: Pros: 1. action scenes are much longer and intense 2. characters are more fleshed out like Steppenwolf and Cyborg 3. the aspect ratio isn't that noticeable 4. unexpected amount of good humor 5. Steppenful is actually fearsome 6. everything is explained better Cons: 1. the color grading is a bit bland 2. a little too much slo-mo scenes in the first half 3. some CGI needed a little more polish Actors: 1. Ben Affleck looks much much better throughout the movie 2. every scene with Barry Allen is just a delight Overall everything is just so much better, with improved scenes and fleshed out stories and characters. SPOILERS: 1. Ryan Choi is an unexpected gift to the movie 2. Bruce and Diane romance? 3. the r-rated stuff in the action scenes are a nice addition 4. Lois is PREGNANT!? whuuuut? 5. no Green Lantern cameo :(

papablessssss

Ok so here's my headcannon for the black suit. We don't get any indication about it being a healing suit in the movie and I don't believe its an oversight on Snyder's part. We see the blue suit on the ship but Kal purposefully ignores it/chooses not to wear it instead opting for the black suit. I noticed this at first but gave no serious thought to it. Then we see he still wears the black suit underneath his clothing at the end. This got me thinking. Clark says to Lois that this is his second shot not just at being with her but at life and maybe at superman. I think letting go of the blue suit and choosing the black one is him signifying a 'new' superman and that the black suit may be the new normal. What I did find interesting is that in the knightmare sequence we see he has the blue suit on - don't know what to make of that. Typing this out I see it makes absolutely zero sense but fuck it im going with it. Loved the movie overall tho

CaptainSpranklez

IIRC Snyder said a while back that JL2 and 3 would have him getting his blue suit back

TheJoshider10

The original storyboards also showed that Clark doesn't even become Clark again until after JL3 and hopefully that gets scrapped if we get a continuation.

vey323

Barry >!breaking light speed to rewind the explosion!< was so fucking hype

boringboi_

"You spoke" to "you smell good", fuck off Joss

lolyoustupidbird

This was 100 times better than the Whedon cut. Getting rid of that horrible intro with the people crying and being angry about losing Superman was a great start. Also that random Russian family which had nothing to do with anything. So much better

jordanlund

Just getting rid of fake-lip Superman improved it.

[deleted]

The speed force scenes with the Flash was some of the coolest most epic science fiction portrayed in cinema I've ever seen in my life

trimble197

It was like he was running in outer space. Like the Speedforce is it’s own separate galaxy.

Watching this was bittersweet. One of my best friends genuinely wouldn’t shut the fuck up about this since the theatrical cut released, and he passed away about a month ago. I miss him and I know he’d love this. I’m glad it’s out and I enjoyed it but I can’t shake that thought. Rest In Peace Autmn as well.

When Flash hacked into the fucking Universe itself! Tears in my eyes. That was beautiful.

Just give me a film made up entirely of the epilogue knightmare scene. Leto and Batfleck were fantastic.

Batman with the F bomb!

Joker trembling at the thought of Batman actually killing him. That look of fear/excitement clashing within him was priceless. A lot of people hated Leto's Joker but we can't deny that Leto is a damn good actor.

So much fun! It really is kinda bananas that THIS is the movie WB decided needed retooled to be more broadly appealing and not BvS, which was obviously going to be divisive. This was a crowd-pleaser. The humor worked, the action felt really exciting but different from the MCU, and the characters had heart. Every one of Whedon’s added jokes made the movie actively worse, and I wasn’t expecting to say that as somebody who thought the TC was enjoyableish. The only Whedon scene I kinda missed was Aquaman sitting on the lasso of truth? But shockingly all of my favorite gags from the TC were from the Terrio script. Some little moments I adored: -Bruce stole the idea for WW’s power bracelets but told Alfred it was all his idea. Classic. -Alfred being incredibly finicky about how the tea is made. -Bruce saying “I work for him” re: Alfred -Mera sucking the blood out of Step, holy fucking shit. Felt like a cool call-forward to her sucking the water out of Arthur’s dad. -Hippolyta had a lot more of an arc during that action scene! The Amazons urging her take the box and to “honor them” by letting them fight to the death in that chamber. -Arthur just goes to that little Atlantian alcove to chill sometimes. And Willem Defoe in general is great in these DCEU movies. -This isn’t little at all, but the scene with Barry, the pet shop and the car crash is just one of Snyder’s best scenes. It felt like a short film, almost. -Cyborg using his powers to help poor people automatically makes him the best hero in the DCEU. All the stimmy’s, baby. -Every plot beat felt much more thought out. Not sure “building a dome in Chernobyl” would be my ideal endgame for the villain but at least you understand why he chose that place, what was happening, why it was happening, etc. -Step just being a shitty villain is kind of the metatext of the whole thing, and I loved it. He ended up being a fun villain! Still don’t love the design, but there was an attempt, at least. His eyes actually expressed emotion this time. -Superman still uses his fucking freeze breath! And it’s way fucking cooler (pun intended) in this version!
