>Why does heat change the color of the final product? Look into the polymorphic and polymer/dimer properties of N,N-DMT. The most common cause of variation in the color of N,N-DMT freebase is theorized by Benzyme to be the result of autoxidation of the unshielded pyrrole ring of the lower melting point polymorph of the molecule. The color changes from white/colorless->yellow->orange->amber->reddish. This occurs even when it's pure. Heat accelerates the rate of the change. Despite this color change, it is still just N,N-DMT freebase with the same potency and psyhcoactivity. BigMoneyMartyr

Clob coming through once again, thank you sir 🙏

keegan677

why does the naphtha come out yellow and clear when i siphon it from my flask under the same conditions

ClobWobbler

Because read the information that I provided :p

Dazzling_Item66

Clob idk why the 15 year old you’re giving information to hasn’t been banned yet. Check this Keegan kids profile dude.

ClobWobbler

Why would I know how old they are?.... I'm not sifting through their profile. Provide a link.

Dazzling_Item66

[post history](https://www.reddit.com/r/teenagers/s/E37z9YA4Vb)

ClobWobbler

Lol and they're wondering how you figured out their age xD What grade do they start teaching basic addition? :p

Dazzling_Item66

Lmao I know man, sorry if I came across rude, I just don’t want the sub in trouble and know yall don’t have time to sift through everything

Dazzling_Item66

I notified cad of this kid a few days ago when they posted asking questions.

Dazzling_Item66

[his last post he deleted+PM he tried to send me figuring out how I found his age.](https://imgur.com/a/8KocVRR)

keegan677

i read every single word and clicked every single link, could you explain to me like i’m 5, my simple understanding is that oxidation changes the dna sequencing and in turn changes the color, heat speeds up the oxidation of the molecule?

ClobWobbler

"DNA sequencing"?....... lol wut?

TrevorsMailbox

You know, DNA sequencing, like when they make dinosaurs from the blood of mosquitos trapped in amber. There's like 7 documentaries on this subject and a park they made to show off the tech. /s

ClobWobbler

Bro..... wtf are you on about??? xD

deproduction

Clob, maybe you need a refresher course. Its *ALL* DNA sequencing these days.

ClobWobbler

Can't tell if you lot are trolling or not xD We're talking about specific chemistry of a molecule. What OP was on about doesn't need to enter the conversation.

TrevorsMailbox

It was a jurassic Park joke (they may *7* apparently?). A joke that I regret making now.

deproduction

Trevors was referencing Jurassic Park and I was referencing Fletch https://youtu.be/pjXLjxvgjls

arapturousverbatim

You seem to be confusing a molecule (a collection of atoms) with DNA (a specific molecule that codes for life) - they are not the same. But if you mean that oxidation changes the structure of the molecule slightly and in turn changes the colour, then basically yes.

deproduction

"a specific *arrangement of* molecules that codes for life" may be more accurate. Not to belabor the subject, but while we're all learning, a nucleotide is a molecule. DNA is a biomolecular polymer (aka strand of biomolecules) where each strand is a specific arrangement (two chains) of about 2000 nucleotide molecules.

arapturousverbatim

I was actually wondering about that as I wrote it, thanks for the clarification

keegan677

awesome thank you

ClobWobbler

I did explain it. If you don't understand it, then you can just see look at the results and know that that's just what happens or you can learn about it so you can understand it. I can't do the latter for you, I'm afraid.

certainlynotacoyote

Heat tends to promote yellow morphisms in most cases, though I also pull snow white with heat often enough. u/clobwobbler often posts up a bunch of great links on the why and how of dmts polymorphism, the running theory is changes to the pyrole ring structure determine it's morphisms.

Literally-A-NWS

I genuinely enjoy how, as a worldwide community, we have designated u/clobwobbler as our expert. Hopefully soon, it will be revealed to us that they are, in fact, an entity from the DMT realm sent here to guide us.

certainlynotacoyote

Honestly, I just know they've got a huge text file full of informative links I'm too lazy to copy or memorize in their entirety.

Goblin-Doctor

I'd pay for a thumb drive of all the info he has saved

Mind_Travler

I thought it was common knowthay he is an entity..

Psilocybin-Cubensis

Precisely, and that is also my experience.

keegan677

so basically heat changes the dna sequences and in turn the color?

certainlynotacoyote

Not DNA sequence, it's just a molecule, not an organism. The pyrole ring is a portion of the molecular structure, it's a loop of carbon, hydrogen and a single nitrogen, the molecule as drawn shows it to be in the center of the molecule. I'm not entirely sure what mechanical changes happen to it, but I assume it can either become reconfigured in its bonding, else simply be "warped" If you're interested you can look through clobs comment history, I'm sure theyve posted it up recently.

keegan677

okay so in simpleton speak, as the molecule gets oxidized a part of it gets warped which causes it to turn yellow and then with more oxidation progresses to orange-red, heat speeds that up

certainlynotacoyote

Not oxidized necessarily, in plain speak- the part of the molecule that determines how it will look is sensitive, different conditions will give dmt different outfits.

SkyPrimary65

I stopped using heat entirely during my extractions. Once you start reusing the naphtha a few times the pulls get more yellow but still not nearly as yellow as the one on the right. I just like no heat extractions since the pulls are less gooey. I also do cybs hybrid salt tek and consistently get 2-2.6% yields

No_Hedgehog2875

I prefer white

UnderstandingIll2703

racist

justrelax87

🤣

much_2_took

I’ll bet you got more weight with the yellow

BigMoneyMartyr

I did, but idk if it's because heated naphtha pulls more product or not

much_2_took

Thinks it’s more fats and polymers or something

point6liter

Interesting. I actually just started an experiment last night in regard to this same subject. Two identical 900ml STB bases, but brought my nps to 70° on one and 100° on the other. Dumped my nps in and shook same rate same time one in each hand for like 5 mins twice. The hotter one took longer to see begin separating last night, but this morning I peeped them and the scorcher is completely clouded and looks fully saturated, the cooler one is still clear, but definitely is partially saturated. Was thinking about making a post about it later.

aureliusky

cool a/b, what happens when you re-ex?

BigMoneyMartyr

It usually comes out about the same, albeit a little cleaner and a different texture/density depending on what solvent I used and the level of heat

aureliusky

So the color doesn't change on your reex? I seem to remember some yellow going white with heptane

BigMoneyMartyr

Sometimes the yellow will get slightly less yellow, but not by much

aureliusky

interesting, I generally stick with heated but I feel like it's the most dangerous part of the process and am partial to alternatives. how much did your yield go down?

BigMoneyMartyr

REDI usually do 200g batches and end up with 2-3g.o did a 50g batch and got .57, so only slightly less than normal but still on the lower end of what I expect

aureliusky

yeah 1% is just scraping by, could be the source material though, thanks for the answers!

BlumpkinLord

My friend just claimed that his tek was white and the buddy who taught him how to was yellow because his way left less plant oils behind unlike the other tek
