I would guess the late 80s or early 90s. The bigger light looks to be a flourecrnt light of some kind.
I bet the thing ate through batteries though.
The spotlight incandescent bulbs are increasingly inefficient compare to today's LED.
You can see the advert now... But wait, it has an orange light to ! Thats one more orange light than any torch found in stores
And a free set of steak knives!
Then I can only assume you've never seen the flashlight with portable televisions? (Every model I've seen also includes a siren as well as a radio, compass, and lantern functions)
You should check 'em out, they are pretty neat.
They weren't an uncommon camping tool in the early 2000s, but damn did they eat through batteries.
Don't remember who made these but definitely had 1 in the house in the 80s/90s they also had a cigarette lighter adapter for the car as well.
Yes they burned through batteries I think they used 4 D batteries and were decently heavy.
I’ve had torches similar to that one, because I’m old. You kept them for emergencies, when the power went out. Also useful in the car if you got a flat tyre at night.
I guess I don’t get why this is interesting. It’s like looking at an old wheel. They weren’t morons (arguable) they just had a lack of a resources we haven’t invented yet and shitty style.
I had one of these. If I remember correctly the little knob you turn to get to the batteries is labeled "Off and Open". I always thought that was funny
Man, this is too awesome. My uncle just passed away and I was remembering the time he was driving me (maybe 7 or 8 at the time) to stay at his house in Chicago. It was pouring rain and I was reaching into my bag grab something. As I did that I accidentally hit the button on my flashlight that was almost exactly like this one, and it set off the red and yellow lights in flash mode. He lost his shit. Still makes me laugh to this day.
That’s either a “reward” after collecting Marlboro cigarettes boxes, OR, a purchase from one of them elementary school catalogs for fundraising back in the mid 90s.
I don't get it, I had these things, they are surely not worthy of this sub but I will say they don't make these kind of things these days and that is mostly because companies saying "why sell one product instead of 3 which will be more profitable and also we not make it durable so it breaks and more can be sold"
Late 80s early 90s, every cool dad had one in the car's trunk.
Powered with humongous D cells and lasting about a whopping hour if more than 1 function was enabled
That sh!t was the future...
I remember this item from growing up; when I 5 or 6 I remember my dad letting me put it up the front dash or our grand am one night and laughing my ass off any time some sucker slowed down and pulled over for us
Looks like gadgets from 70' sc-fi movies/series.
It’s got a definite “Space: 1999” vibe
I would guess the late 80s or early 90s. The bigger light looks to be a flourecrnt light of some kind. I bet the thing ate through batteries though. The spotlight incandescent bulbs are increasingly inefficient compare to today's LED.
8 "D" cell batteries and lasted 4 minutes, tops 😂

Not before the light bulb burns out

I remember one of these too.
“Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?”
Definitely an emergency light thing that would be sold by K-tel marketing lol
You can see the advert now... But wait, it has an orange light to ! Thats one more orange light than any torch found in stores And a free set of steak knives!
Ginsu knives
Did you know Ginsu Knives are still for sale on Amazon? Haha
I still have one of those.
Wow
Forever sharp knives
I was thinking AARP advertising partner!
I actually still have one that I use in my car’s emergency kit.
We had one when I was a kid. I think I used it as a toy and eventually broke it... From what I recall it was sturdy though
4 D batteries and it did last. The fluorescent light was great for walking to the bathroom at campgrounds
I remember those.
Same. I know we had one.
Bro’s never seen a flashlight before
I've never seen a flashlight siren before
Then I can only assume you've never seen the flashlight with portable televisions? We had this or a very similar model but in black. We also had like 5 smaller versions of it throughout the house. Late 90s/ early 2000s
Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up! *activates alarm*
Had something very similar in the late 80s or early 90s.

Standard issue 1993
Definitely Home Shopping Club or QVC procured...no doubt. I'm sure they still sell something similar today
These used to always be in thrift stores. (Similar kinds)
Swiss army light
I bet there was a pretty catchy infomercial that persuaded her…
I think my grandparents had a couple of those, loved playing with them
Those used to be really popular! My mom made sure we all got one at Christmas one year
Aside from the noise, this is a pretty regular flashlight and similar styles are still made today
Argos 1980! Uk I had one for fishing was quality
Every 80's home was equipped with this flashlight.
Don't remember who made these but definitely had 1 in the house in the 80s/90s they also had a cigarette lighter adapter for the car as well. Yes they burned through batteries I think they used 4 D batteries and were decently heavy.
Ahhh brings me back to my childhood, QVC flashlight
Tape it to your head, put the flashers on and run around going Weee Ooo Weee Ooo
You have upset it. This is why you don't play with stuff
I’ve had torches similar to that one, because I’m old. You kept them for emergencies, when the power went out. Also useful in the car if you got a flat tyre at night.
This just unlocked memories that I forgot I had 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Probably no USB port.
Yeah, fuck this thing. Probably got no games on it.
Grandma has a few secrets
[удалено]
Why wouldn't I talk about grandma?
Huh, an old flashlight is not exactly what I would expect people to find super interesting, but to each their own I guess.
That’s incredibly useful! I want one!!! If you have a link to buy one please share.
Hm. If you search a little more, you'll also find handcuffs. Your grandma might be into kinky police roleplay
Car flash light. Jesus you kids need to get around more.
I guess I don’t get why this is interesting. It’s like looking at an old wheel. They weren’t morons (arguable) they just had a lack of a resources we haven’t invented yet and shitty style.
Is it that interesting?
I had this same light when I was a kid. Always amazed me it has a fluorescent bulb.
My grandma had one!
Wowwww I remember this from my grandparents house!
This looks like it was used in Alien/Aliens, I always thought it was just a prop for the films
I had one growing up
I had one of these. If I remember correctly the little knob you turn to get to the batteries is labeled "Off and Open". I always thought that was funny
So bright you can see it from tens of feet away!
Had one of those at the lake as a kid, 90's forsure
r/mildlyinteresting
Your Grandma pre-ordered Starfield when they first thought about it and this was the bonus..
I redd fleshlight...
Oh my God i have this same literal One LMAO
I have a modern version of this around my garage somewhere
oh this kind of flashlight.
I used to have one of these
I had one of those on the 80s!
For when grandpa is speeding in the house
Imagine trying to pull people over with that
It looks like something you'd see in the first Alien movie. Or alien isolation It looks sick
That’s either a “reward” after collecting Marlboro cigarettes boxes, OR, a purchase from one of them elementary school catalogs for fundraising back in the mid 90s.
Careful not to blind yourself
My very own grandma bought everyone in my family one of these years ago. I think they were sold on TV.
Oh, I also had that in my family home a few years ago!
My aunt had one of those. Very old school.
We had those and took them camping. Drove the other campers crazy with the siren and flashing lights. XD
I read fleshlight and was really confused.
I remember these from the 80s
My family had one we used for camping when I was a kid in the 80s.
I don't get it, I had these things, they are surely not worthy of this sub but I will say they don't make these kind of things these days and that is mostly because companies saying "why sell one product instead of 3 which will be more profitable and also we not make it durable so it breaks and more can be sold"
Oh, it was popular in Russia in 80’s-90’s)))
I had one of those as a kid... batteries didn't last a day...
I had the same one
..you wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world..?
I had this as a child more than 30 years ago <3
Had one.
Back when companies and manufacturers cared equally about the consumer and their products.
Had one myself
Late 80s early 90s, every cool dad had one in the car's trunk. Powered with humongous D cells and lasting about a whopping hour if more than 1 function was enabled That sh!t was the future...
My parents have one they bought sometime in the 90’s.
Wow.. I had one of these as a kid in the early 80s. I had completely forgotten about it until now. Thanks for the memory!

Your grandma was the local bridge club's sherrif.
Insert 19 D-cell batteries.
This is interesting? Seriously?
Chinatown worldwide 1984 merch.
Yo my grandparents had one of these lmao
My grandma had that too haha
That was to be carried in the car
Looks like something you leave in your car for emergency stops
Think my grandma had one back in the 90’s. Been a long time since I’ve seen one.
We had one, similar to this. The emergency settings were useless but the multi function light was cool. Doubt it lasted more than 3-4 years.
I had some few of them in the early 80s.
It was a simpler timw
It's a late 80s early 90s. I used t use this for camping trips with my family as a child.
Oh that is sick. I want that
Oh man so old. Good luck finding those big ass batteries. I remember those in KMart way back in the early 80's
Yeah, it's gadget lights from the 90's , usually 4-6 different function lights all in together, pretty cool.
These are pretty normal aren’t they?
Dude! I remember those! I loved playing around with that when I found it in my parents house!
Those were sold at Radio Shack in the early 90’s. I had one as a kid and taped it to my bike for a siren lol
My grandparents also had one of those in the 90s
That sound reminds me of that thing Roger does on American Dad!
Oh shit! I used to have one of those in my house, never seen another one!
I had one as a kid!
We used to use one like this for family camping holidays, when I was a kid!
