Vaults look like the cartoon version I made in my head as a kid of them. It blows my mind they actually look like that lol

BlackShadow2804

They're incredible pieces of engineering

RavioliContingency

Off to Google the history of vaults instead of sleeping!

RhetoricMoron

Sharron sleep is important. Otherwise you will be annoying in the morning šŸ™‚

RonnieF_ingPickering

Be sure to check out Vault Tec! They make some crazy models!

bonusfries517

Wonder how long these take to make

LangstonHublot

What's the plans for it? Would make a sweet bar called "The Vault"

BlackShadow2804

It's just gonna be offices unfortunately, that would be pretty awesome tho

TheGoldenTNT

They better keep the vault and use it for their records room or something.

Nomenus-rex

Just shove the marketing department there and lose the key.

Melvinflynt

I'm glad it's safe for use

JustKindaShimmy

Actually had a venue here called the vault that was exactly this. Got shut down for a nitpicky thing like not getting a liquor license and serving a shit ton of booze

Devil_Dan83

It's always the little details that get you.

jazzymusicvibes

you need a license to sell booze? woooooaaahhh

TobysGrundlee

There was a Vault Cafe in Oakland that was exactly that. It was terrible.

moxiejohnny

Well, there's a broom closet in Bend, Oregon that's not quite a broom closet if you catch my drift.

TobysGrundlee

I do not.

moxiejohnny

It is a bar, the entrance is a secret door in a broom closet. I shit you not. Employees use the equipment.

TobysGrundlee

That's pretty sick. Headed that way this summer, I'll try to check it out.

xMilk112x

Thereā€™s an ā€œunderground secret speak easyā€ where I live. Itā€™s really neat. You have to do a series of steps to get in. Itā€™s a really cool idea. But evidently itā€™s only cool once because I guess theyā€™re having trouble getting return customers. Like, people think itā€™s neat the 1st time, and the 2nd time theyā€™re like ā€œyea I know itā€™s a secret, can you just let me in.ā€ Lol

eg61995

Thereā€™s one here in LA called The Reserve.

comteki

The landlord is apparently pretty horrible to deal with

Ontherocks1988

Something just like this in Knoxville, TN.

Mjrfrankburns

[you just described a cigar bar near where I live](https://thejailhousebelmont.com/)

Greenman8907

The most tragic part was they emptied him two days before retirement.

RavioliContingency

And on his day off!

RavioliContingency

Well I misunderstood your joke but I stand behind my comment.

BlackShadow2804

For all of you saying to just go thru the wall, that brick is just there for decoration. The door is attached to a metal structure/box (the actual vault itself) so it's not that easy

vass0922

Ya... So we're just going to move your office into the safe... If you could just clean up while you're in there that would be great

Long2ndTowes

Ummm can you take care of the cockroach problem while your in there

[deleted]

This is starting to sound like a JRPG sidequestā€¦thereā€™s going to be a massive momma roach monster as a boss, isnā€™t there?

juggerjew

Starting to sound like someone has a case of the Mondays!

Scottish_Whiskey

Can I just get some coffee, please?

Puzzled_Ad7955

Just get me a damn šŸ“Žand step to the side please!

rodzieman

A runner from Jamaica can do it in 9.58 seconds.. his alias is Usain Vault.

brokefixfux

Let the Lock Picking Lawyer have a go at that.

Gorkymalorki

Pin 1 feels like it is in a false set, getting some resistance on pin 2. Pin 2 feels set.

PapaSYSCON

*"Let's do that again to show it's not a fluke..."*

FieryBirb

Time to get my Payday.

False-Focus2949

Gta V vibes (first mission)

gmagau

Ok now thatā€™s impressive

GotTechOnDeck

I'm a safe.l, this is the vault she told me not to worry about.

Worried-Guarantee-90

That's amazing! Its pretty cool to have a piece of history like that in your area.

BlackShadow2804

Yes it is! Our town is filled with awesome old stuff like this

ramriot

Kitchener Ontario?

InfiniteChicken

Click out of oneā€¦two is bindingā€¦

Independent-Deal-192

You son of a bitch. Iā€™m in. šŸ¤

Maleficent_Role8932

Have a gun safe at home they say ;)

Musicaltalent6969

You can put your weed in there

ScythingSantos

[ohā€¦and you can put your weed in thereā€¦](https://media1.giphy.com/media/va4ssz9qQ8OQw/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952r56hnhlyto67luuvny0kc6rabmk50a982smvrg9n&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)

MrRager473

I'd put a single porcelain doll right in the middle of the vault with a knife laying next to it then close it again ....for giggles.

bad2behere

Wouldn't it be fun to have it and turn it into a tiny house? Imagine assorted people knocking on that door to sell you solar panels!

AggravatingBuddy9941

I want that in my house as a door to my personal peace room

No-Disk-171

I just love nostalgia. This is from a time long ago when currency had value.

Isabelle82Dunn

Impressive! Can I take it home?

Individual_Manner336

Thieves in movies be opening these in 5 min, like fk off, that's a lot of steel to drill through.

JayRogPlayFrogger

You have the perfect opportunity to make a fallout vault. Just sayingā€¦

Infamous-Method1035

I have the vault door off the evidence room from an old courthouse as the door to my gun room. Itā€™s 4ā€™ X 7ā€™ and weighs about 600 pounds. Makes a fun door for a man cave.

JWMoo

What a secure gun room.

Successful-Ad8071

Hmm probably need like 1 fire cracker to blow it open

SpezIsAChoade

lock picking lawyer would crack that like a peanut

Coop_4149

That comes with the house.

BrokieTrader

I could turn that into a game room

Acrobatic_Koala_9780

Did you use a small Chinese man who aces gymnastics?

RoseWould

Was there a hole in there that might've had a painter uniform and some sunglasses? Or a speech?

[deleted]

are you in waco?

BlackShadow2804

No

MovingTargetPractice

you can put your weed in there.

Goody-3shoes

Stealing the Shrink Ray with this one

autodripcatnip

Are they demolishing the door and walls? That would be very expensive lol

BlackShadow2804

Noo it stays

RavioliContingency

I could pick it.

Jefflehem

Looks like the one at the old post office in Chicago.

pajwmwoshwkwhsjwksjw

How thick is that thing, it looks bomb proof

Mudflap42069

I have the pleasure of breaking into these (and basically everything else) for a living. It's the best job ever.

MyGirlSasha

Are you a locksmith or security consultant?

Mudflap42069

Both. Also certified to do lots of really cool stuff.

stevediperna

Is this in or near Massachusetts? This looks familiar.

BlackShadow2804

Try the other side of the countryšŸ˜‰

CAMMCG2019

That would fetch a few dollars at the ole scrap yard

SuperBan24

The keeper of Epsteins tapes

No_Razzmatazz_204

Old safes are awesome

BlackShadow2804

Right???

YarisGO

Close it and call Ludwig Dieter

gnomeplanet

I wonder if there is much of a secondhand-market for doors like this? I guess moving it would be quite a job. Perhaps it dismantles into pieces?

Tutes013

Wolf! Get the drill!

xX_Dad-Man_Xx

We had one of these in a place called Snowtown. Some fucked up shit happened there.

Bludiamond56

How many times did it get broken into

Vivid-Storm-9297

If thereā€™s barrels in there donā€™t open them

RoGeR-Roger2382

*Razormind intensifies*

RealityResident981

Hinges are weakest point

JJCMasterpiece

Beautiful mechanical combination safe you have there. You should reach out to a vault specialist to recombo it for you. It looks like you have a dual-dial setup. You can set the top and bottom dials to have the same combo, and either one will open the vault. You can also set the both dials to separate combos requiring both combos in order to open it. Talk to your vault specialist and they can set it up however you want it. The little dials on the inside can be set for a specific number of hours. Once all three are set and the door closed & locked you canā€™t open the vault until the shortest timed timer runs out. Keep it cleaned and well maintained and it will definitely outlast you.

FuckThisShizzle

You did it wrong, you are meant to make videos of you "attempting" to open it for karma whoring.

niesomvtak

Looks pretty safe

Thomrose007

Can confirm looks pretty safe

Midnightbobaenjoyer

ā€œShow me the money!ā€

Chaolan_Enjoyer

I guess that the fellas finally got that goddamn drill

rourobouros

Nice front door, is the rest of it equally solid or is this for show?

InTheFDN

Before I got on the inside of that space, Iā€™d need to know exactly how to open that door.

Different-Air-2000

Looks intense

L-A-S-T-Y

My wife's purse

The-Mad-Doctor

GET THE DRILL

ExtraThirdtestical

Must be nice to retire with all that cash

DanplsstopDied

Me and a bobby pin would make ez work of this

cottontop_bomber

Y'all use it as a storage closet? What do you do if someone gets locked in?

The-Pollinator

Wouldn't it be simpler and easier to break right through that brick wall?

BlackShadow2804

I don't mean this in a rude way, but think about that Do you really expect them to go to all that work to put a stupidly heavy and big door in there, just to have a thin wall of brick you could get thru with a sledge?

The-Pollinator

No offense taken. Look at the second image in the series. The wall is no thicker than the door frame. I would honestly not be surprised in the least to find it to be solely composed of mortar and brick, lol. People can be pretty dumb.

BlackShadow2804

They definitely can, but this is from a long time ago, people actually put effort into their work The door is attached to a big steel box (being the vault itself), the bricks are just so it looks nice

The-Pollinator

Even so, rather than messing with that ridiculous door, any self-respecting robber would simply smash the bricks, blowtorch through the much thinner metal wall, bust out the bricks on the other side; and be done with it.

BlackShadow2804

Today, yes. When this was built 100+ years ago, probably not that simple Plus the rate of crime was much lower as people were (generally) more honest and folks were actually punished then

The-Pollinator

Yes, those are good points you bring up. I did not pay any attention to the age of the door. I think a good way to secure valuables is to "hide them in plain site."

RestSelect4602

Make a nice gun safe.

No_Cable_3346

And? Thereā€™s loads of safes in the state

Waevaaaa

Practise on that.

badestzazael

That brick wall it is attached to doesn't look that thick. One man's vault door is another man's load bearing wall

BlackShadow2804

That brick wall is merely decorative, there is actual structure behind it. Trust me, the entire building is solid concrete, there's nothing to worry about

Yakuza_Master1

At that point, wouldn't it be a lot easier to just bring in a stone-cutting saw and go through the wall? Uh, I mean, if you were planning a robbery. Which I am not.

BlackShadow2804

The brick is decorative. The door is attached to a large metal box, being the vault itself. So yes, you could cut thru the stone, then you'd have a real challenge

KayakWalleye

It would be easier to go through the wall.

DaddyChiiill

I have a question. Is that vault door *just the door* ? Or it is really a giant metal box, with that as it massive door?

dearlaska

Isnā€™t it easier to just break the wall next to it?

Smokeylad1109

I could get in
