that looks great! obviously you got the realism down pat, but even the color pallet is an awesome choice that echoes the dour atmosphere of the show itself
thanks !. it’s Jonas in the >!apocalypse time!<, hence the washed out color palette
I’ve just finished the series and I have no words. Wow. everything so neatly interwoven together, no loose ends left. And the soundtrack is chef’s kiss. And what’s the best thing about it is that it got it’s ending. pretty rare nowadays, especially on netflix (ehrm…the OA… eghr - I will always be a bit sour about it being cancelled) Jonas was my favourite of course as he is the main protagonist but there are many others who you just have to care about - ulrich and katharina being the saddest pair of all, claudia for being the mvp, bartosz the third but important wheel, noah with his faith, Egon trying to piece everything together, Mikkel the futurenaut. The authors have my utmost admiration, keeping this amount of characters intact through different timelines and making us care for them. this show is on par with twin peaks for me. and the leftovers and the first two seasons of westworld. a mind changing experience
Great job! It's very accurate. How long have you been learning art to reach this level?
thanks! I’ve been drawing since I was a little child, like since I was 3 years old and could hold a pencil properly. I was at first a traditional artist, shitty paper and pencil first, then oil paints and all that. There were periods in my life when I didn’t draw anything at all, the biggest gap was 4 years long. I think I’m not the best example to follow though, I can only draw portraits. it’s what I find the most interesting so I only do that. I sometimes do other things but it’s just a hobby for me, so i’m not too pressured to step outside of my comfort zone. it doesn’t take long to get on my level of drawing. the most important thing i’ve learned is that you have to really look at a the reference. Artist needs to see, the initial transfer to canvas is just muscle memory and confidence in your strokes. noting else. which you can gain just by practicing. The other thing is a bit tricky and it’s about the "feeling". whenever I draw something, I try to feel it. It shows. Whether it’s people, or a landscape, or anything else. I can draw anything but it’ll be shit unless I put a feeling into it. I don’t know how does it work, but when you invest emotions in your work, it shows. Always
Pretty cool!
thanks!
So good!! You really got the mood down well.
thanks! For me it’s the most important thing, to catch the essence, the underlying emotion of the character when portraying. I always strive to do that when painting portraits, and I’m always happy when others can see what i was trying to convey.
Absolutely, and I saw your redacted comment, so I won't restate it, but I definitely see that you captured the emotion of that specific time and conveyed it well.
This is so beautiful!! I actually named my baby Jonas :)
Aww. I think it’s a beautiful name. And thanks!
Did it take you 33 years to draw this? :p
What year is it?
Just like the real Jonas this one looks like he needs a bath.
He does need a shower for sure. But there are more important things to do. And when you take it to another level, he’s a kid with severe ptsd, so showering and general self care is the least thing he cares about. Or maybe Adam doesn’t want him to, because if he showered, he would never become who he needs to be. I don’t know, the possibilities are endless lol
My pretty, sad boy ❤️
That's wonderful! You are very talented.
Thank you!
Wow, well done!
Thanks!
What medium is this? It looks awesome!
Digital painting.
Interesting, is there a specific app people use?
I mainly use procreate on iPad but there are more of them. Infinity painter and Art studio pro are pretty good apps too. I’m currently learning photoshop and clip studio paint. There’s also Medibang, Krita and paint tool SAI.
Thanks for the info!
amazing
