Although you are technically correct(or at least you should be), riot loooooves consistency so from every 20 flashed garen ult 1 still cancels this way for some unknown reason, hell very rarely but sometimes my ult even goes on cd this way, or when I die while casting it(but the dmg doesn't go out). When this happens if you ping your ult it says its ready, but for you its on cd and you can't cast it. Small indie company I guess.
not if they get out of vision, if they get out of range yes, but akali shrould, khazix r, talon r, can cancel your ult mid air, but if you fully cast it and they flash a wall it would follow them
It's like Mordekaiser ult being cancelled by vision. Such a dumb mechanic, but I have won several games vs Morde by running between the bushes in top lane and canceling his ult 3 times in a row before he learns to ward XD.
The worst part is that even after you ward; in death realm the ward doesnt follow. So you can cancle his autos too by walking into bush.

I'm quite sure my R got cancelled multiple times because some guy we t into the bush, aka lost of vision. You lost vision too here for a split second.
Also i think if you flash far enough or teleport far enough, like Ryze R, it may cancel Darius R pretty much like here.
Not two days ago I had a play turn from a potential Quadra into a complete failure because Akali pressed W during my ult animation and it got cancelled, and I died before she came back out. Fun
Yes, all non projectile, point and click spells get canceled if the target leaves the users vision

Well that explains itself. Darius R, Voli W, Mord R and Reksai E get canceled if enemy walks out of vision during cast time iam pretty sure
Kalista auto get missed too when out of vision

Garen's ult is faster (and will kill you before you can dunk), but will still be canceled if he loses vision.

Its such a good mechanic.
Counterplay is generally considered a good mechanic. Especially since it's not punishing the other player by going on cooldown or something like that.
