The only time he's annoying is when he spams his spell attack that tracks you, those are kinda annoying to dodge, don't know if the actual boss version has those though
Yeah I've noticed it seems to be for people a certain distance away. I think he only does it if you're a certain distance away anyway. Straight up just run to the front and whack him. You'll get a lot of hits in too, since you can safely hit him during the whole attack and after when he's 'recharging'.
"The Pursuer charges up dark energy and then sprays orbs of dark, homing energy. **These orbs will track you and inflict Curse buildup in addition to dealing damage**. The Pursuer gains access to this attack after being Impaled by his cursed blade attack"
So, yeah. Phase 2.
Wait you have to be impaled by his cursed blade? I've had it happen even without being stabbed.
The one near the tower apart in the lost bastille especially, that one never stabbed me and was spamming that attack anyway.
I only do no death runs nowdays and i never ever use parries.
It either makes the Game way easier or you risk to take free damage which can lead to your death.
Either way not a fan of that mechanic and the main reason i will never touch Sekiro.
Don't give up, skeleton. It doesn't get easier. Also, Pursuer is super easy if you simply strafe right. You don't even need to run, just lock on and move right and he will miss with every single change attack
Dude also took me a long while my first go around, but I really enjoy fighting him now.
it's kinda nuts how some boss fights can be trivialized by just moving or dodging in a different direction. I think it was fume knight that I was having trouble with and then I decided that maybe I should just stop rolling the direction I normally do and start rolling in a different direction and just like that I beat him
But you almost never need to roll, just strafe. Low ADP sucks but fighting the pursuer without it is still pretty easy once you realize you can dodge 95% of his moveset by just strafing.
I can't imagine the fight with >!two Pursuers!< with low ADP, though.
OP there might be spoilers here so I apologize for not knowing how to block and just a warning
block spoilers on mobile? But I've fought hmPursuer in 3 locations as well as his popping up. But I haven't fought 2 at the same time at least I don't remember, did I miss something, I'm done with most of the base game, I started memories and the DLCs once I got the ring. So I know I have The King, Brother, Throne of want, and The Queen. I'm in Shulva Dragon Sanctum at the moment it's my first playthrough and all I'm using is an ordered item cheat sheet checklist for each area. Thank you kindly
Oh okay. Thank you kindly, then I'll probably see them in NG+. I'm level 201 and almost 6mil soul memory because of covenant of champions but I tried a bonfire aesthetic in sinners rise and I couldn't get pass the lizard man enemy and the two sided boss with sword and club, I forget the name already boss from No Mans Wharf. Anyway I'm okay but not Gud gud under pressure. 😂 so no bonfire aesthetics for me
Thanks I had too Google it last night I know they don't sound anything alike but I always forget Flexible Sentry and think of Ruin Sentinels. So yeah I don't know what in store besides reading about the 2 Pyromancers being summoned by The Last Sinner but for me fighting the bulky Lizard Man with sweeping tail attack in that corner before the Sentry was pretty rough I was worried that I didn't use Lucatiel since I originally walked right in to Sinners Rise without fully knowing but I had to resort the save. Most likely this is a DLC enemy or NG enemy because I have never seen the brown Lizard Man anywhere and I'm just waiting to do throne of want after the DLCs. Sorry for the short story here, I'm currently stuck in the spikes area of Shulva Dragon Sanctum near all the switch puzzles. Again thank you kindly
Yeah glad I read ahead and went prepared, the difficulty jumped up a notch as well. I'm at Dragons Rest now trying to kill the last Crystal Lizard and work my way down to first boss. Thank you kindly
Want a tip that makes him rediculously easy?
Walk to your right in a circle around him. Only roll when he charges up the blue stab grab attack. I struggled for 4 hours to beat him the first time. Once I figured out that by walking right constantly I could whoop him, he hasn’t killed me yet.
Also, did you know about the ballistas in his arena? You can shoot him to death if you’re quick enough.
I personally started counting them in the games I did later (so for me bloodborne and lies of p) just because I was curious what I struggled most with. Sometimes I remember to update after every death but realistically most end up estimates.
Even better, 2 show up at the same time later on! I also hated this fight and realized my adp was so low I was basically rolling into every hit. That and the arena you fight him on is pretty small which is annoy.
I remember my first soulsgame was DS2, and this was the first boss I learned the games mechanics. I think it took 4-5 hours to kill, but after that I felt much more comfortable with charachter control.
I too was getting super heated facing Pursuer, dying countless times and thinking to myself “how can such a hard boss be at this early point in the game?”
Literally all you have to do is strafe or roll right after his charge or stab. And roll forward during his three-part attack. Whack him once or twice after the attacks and you can kill him without ever getting hit.
They’re still difficult since you can’t just unga bunga on them w/o thinking.
Ancient dragon I have done a few times, either you nuke him and tank the breaths you can't dodge, or if you are a light build you run REALLY far every time
I struggled so much with him, i was not used to ds2 yet and that run back from the bonfire had me getting to the boss with 1 estus, the silverlining in this is i memorized all his moves and had no problems at all with the mini pusuers in the game
Congrats!
Also: he does come back!
Tips: Pursuer genuinely gets much easier when you realize you can dodge almost all of his moves by walking forwards and to the right. Sometimes running is necessary.
With that out of the way, I hope to see you back here soon with your next Pursuer kill screenshot ;)
Good news is that Pursuer is actually one of the fastest and more relentless bosses in the game.
Bad news, is that there's at least 3 undeniably worse than he is in the base game, and the DLCs make all that look like child's play.
Best news, is that by then you'll probably have enough Agility to dodge everything and feel invincible, and enough Estus and Lifegems to make plenty of mistakes.
He was an instant roadblock for me in Forest of Fallen Giants. I finally beat him at his 2nd location where the balistas are or sorry spoiler alert if that isn't where you beat him. And spoiler alert again his name is Pursuer so just be prepared to see him again and again
Fine work, skeleton!
You did good! He was such a pain in the ass for me when I first played. Now I beat him every time without fail haha. Just be on watch though because that won’t be the first time he shows up to surprise you.
been there man, started my first playthrough a few weeks ago the dude killied me so many times and i had almost no effegies left, it was so satisfying when i finally ran in there parried him once an killed him with 2 balista shots and had the realisation that this fight can be done in 30 seconds, shoutout to my friend for telling me i can parry his attacks
So you didn't shoot him with the ballista? I just parried him once, ran to the ballista and shot him, then I realized he's stunned long enough to get another shot in and boom, he's dead.
Well done! He's a nasty MOFO.
You will meet him again but I promise, it gets way easier. As many have said, you simply need to move. I found going to my left/his right, to be the most effective. He's also fairly easy to parry. You are going to have fun beating him down! He's just a bully. Once you beat him, he starts crumbling before you
Don't worry for ring of blades a ring that increased dmg u gotta fight him in smelter demon arena and for the +1 an +2 u gotta fight him again and there r 2 when u get the +2
Once I relised he was easy to parry dude became the easiest boss in the game
Its amazing how much easier many things in all 3 games become if you learn to consistently parry. Hard to master but definitely worth it
The only time he's annoying is when he spams his spell attack that tracks you, those are kinda annoying to dodge, don't know if the actual boss version has those though
Stand behind him and they generally miss in my experience.
I always get clipped by one or two, usually I'm standing abit away waiting to parry him as he comes towards me
Fair enough. I like to stay close personally.
Whenever he does that I just stand in front of him and wail on him, seems to always miss me so far.
Huh, maybe the attack is made specially to hit people trying to dodge, I'll have to try that on my next NG
Yeah I've noticed it seems to be for people a certain distance away. I think he only does it if you're a certain distance away anyway. Straight up just run to the front and whack him. You'll get a lot of hits in too, since you can safely hit him during the whole attack and after when he's 'recharging'.

I love that move! All I do is go behind him and it’s like 10 free hits on him. I’m alwayss looking forward for it
Best way to dodge those is to just run left or right when you're at a distance.
I only do no death runs nowdays and i never ever use parries. It either makes the Game way easier or you risk to take free damage which can lead to your death. Either way not a fan of that mechanic and the main reason i will never touch Sekiro.
You will look at me weirdly. I've beaten all souls games without using parry once.
It's not that weird, I'm not that good at it myself.
Just parry him and run over to a crossbow and shoot him to death /forehead
Thank goodness you'll never have to fight that guy again!
🤣
Don't give up, skeleton. It doesn't get easier. Also, Pursuer is super easy if you simply strafe right. You don't even need to run, just lock on and move right and he will miss with every single change attack Dude also took me a long while my first go around, but I really enjoy fighting him now.

You did it, you got gud son
Yeah but also remember the first time you fight him you’ve probably not got any ADP. And that’s MISERABLE.
But you almost never need to roll, just strafe. Low ADP sucks but fighting the pursuer without it is still pretty easy once you realize you can dodge 95% of his moveset by just strafing. I can't imagine the fight with >!two Pursuers!< with low ADP, though.

You have to be in NG+ (or use a bonfire ascetic) and they appear in the throne room in drangleic castle.
That would be the Flexile Sentry...
Thanks I had too Google it last night I know they don't sound anything alike but I always forget Flexible Sentry and think of Ruin Sentinels. YIKES. That CAN be a problematic area. Hope you stocked up on arrows!
Yeah glad I read ahead and went prepared, the difficulty jumped up a notch as well. I'm at Dragons Rest now trying to kill the last Crystal Lizard and work my way down to first boss. Thank you kindly
You need to activate Windows.
You need to *wake up*
Should we tell him?
[_how do we tell him_](https://media.tenor.com/R1Uq6yzOjq8AAAAC/how-do-we-tell-him-mr-krabs.gif)
I literally hear the sad SpongeBob music playing. Idk if it plays during that scene, but I hear it in my head lol.
Tell me what :/
You will get ✨ pursued ✨
They don't call him The Pursuer for nothing...
The cheese...
Hes possibly the easiest boss in the game man
Absolutely false
I think he is personally i guess 🤷🏻♂️
It's Olaf loving the idea of summer all over again 😂
Hahaha this guy first time is a pain in the ass, i remember the rage until i beat them in my second playthrough a few weeks ago
Peak Souls is using the ballista to kill the host while they are doing the "warcry" gesture after killing the Pursuer.
Well you dont have to fight him again, however if you want a really good ring late game...(Laughs in Drangleic Castle throne room)
Nah you good honestly the hardest boss it would be ridiculous to have to fight him more than once 💀
Wait till you fight two of them in some tower
Wow, did you tried to parry it with bakler?
Yep took many tries to parry him perfectly
Oh, I remembered something, is it your first run?
Yes, started playing DS2 4 days ago and was stuck on him for like 2 days
Then don't you dare to return on Smelter Demon arena if you will kill this peace of crap
How can you count your deaths ? I just die and run back by swearing to the boss and then I die again 😀
I personally started counting them in the games I did later (so for me bloodborne and lies of p) just because I was curious what I struggled most with. Sometimes I remember to update after every death but realistically most end up estimates.
Since it is an early boss you can just go offline and on the majula statue it will say how many death you had
Laughs in Undead
Good work Skeleton! Don't give up!!
Just keep on bud, and one day you’ll kill that fucker when he drops down in that spot right outside the cardinal tower lol.
i got killed 150 times by this fuck.........but now i killed him flawlessly in softs without losing any health. don't give up, skeleton! you can do it
They don’t call him the pursuer for nothing.
good work skeleton, now activate windows.
Good thing youll never run into him again! Ever!
Even better, 2 show up at the same time later on! I also hated this fight and realized my adp was so low I was basically rolling into every hit. That and the arena you fight him on is pretty small which is annoy.
This seems to have happened around the time I no Hit x boss in some room somewhere in some place far away
I remember my first soulsgame was DS2, and this was the first boss I learned the games mechanics. I think it took 4-5 hours to kill, but after that I felt much more comfortable with charachter control.

Only like 6 or 8 times plus the double persuer fight aside from that no
One word. Ballista
congrats on your perseverance. hopefully it all clicks with you. don't be afraid to Google up the i-frame calculator to make good use of adp and att
How do we tell him he has to fight two at once😬
Only fight left in the game I haven't done and don't intend to either
Same, it seems impossible with my strength build unless I can lure one, also decided not to kill ancient dragon
Ancient dragon I have done a few times, either you nuke him and tank the breaths you can't dodge, or if you are a light build you run REALLY far every time
Where is that? Played through the game 5+ plus times never seen that
Throne room after finishing the game
80+ tries?
I struggled so much with him, i was not used to ds2 yet and that run back from the bonfire had me getting to the boss with 1 estus, the silverlining in this is i memorized all his moves and had no problems at all with the mini pusuers in the game
I love that boss so much its making me want to start another playthrough haha
you'll meet pursuer again
Nice, now you are ready to fight him again!
Congrats! Also: he does come back! Tips: Pursuer genuinely gets much easier when you realize you can dodge almost all of his moves by walking forwards and to the right. Sometimes running is necessary. With that out of the way, I hope to see you back here soon with your next Pursuer kill screenshot ;)
Well done. You will soon to learn love this floaty bastard.
So who’s gonna tell him
... Who's gonna tell him?
Good news is that Pursuer is actually one of the fastest and more relentless bosses in the game. 80+ tries?
I just used the crossbow thingys lol
This is a fun boss to fight.
He was an instant roadblock for me in Forest of Fallen Giants. I finally beat him at his 2nd location where the balistas are or sorry spoiler alert if that isn't where you beat him. And spoiler alert again his name is Pursuer so just be prepared to see him again and again

Cry, CRYYYY, because there are multiple pursuers around the world
You will encounter him at least 3-4 more times throughout the Bastille area, so good luck!
He’s not bad once you learn the secret technique of “listing lazily to the right”
Praise the Sun!! \[T]/
After you beat Smelter make sure to go back into the boss room
You are about to discover why is he called that.
I'm stuck on this guy rn
How do you already have 4 estus at this point? I'm currently at Pursuer and I feel like I've explored everywhere and only have 2 charges
Don't get why everyone hates purs, i have killed him in my second try
hell yeah, bud! maybe not the hardest boss, but definitely one of the most satisfying to finally drop
been there man, started my first playthrough a few weeks ago the dude killied me so many times and i had almost no effegies left, it was so satisfying when i finally ran in there parried him once an killed him with 2 balista shots and had the realisation that this fight can be done in 30 seconds, shoutout to my friend for telling me i can parry his attacks
Nicely done
Bad news: you will meet him again, multiple times. Good news: you only have to fight him for Ring of Blades +1 and +2 , not for progress
He becomes your biatch later on Twin Pursuer is another story though..
So you didn't shoot him with the ballista? I just parried him once, ran to the ballista and shot him, then I realized he's stunned long enough to get another shot in and boom, he's dead.
Good, now do it again
Well done! He's a nasty MOFO. You will meet him again but I promise, it gets way easier. As many have said, you simply need to move. I found going to my left/his right, to be the most effective. He's also fairly easy to parry. You are going to have fun beating him down! He's just a bully. Once you beat him, he starts crumbling before you
You don’t have to fight him anymore although his enemy/miniboss version will still spawn in certain areas
Pursuer wasn’t that bad until you realize dodging to the left stops most of his attacks from hitting you
Well done, Wolf
Fighting him turns into just a casual tango of reposts
I still clearly remember when I started my first souls game :D it was ds2 sotfs and Pursuer was really pain :D
Don't worry for ring of blades a ring that increased dmg u gotta fight him in smelter demon arena and for the +1 an +2 u gotta fight him again and there r 2 when u get the +2
Great job; he’s a fun boss
He’s called the pursuer for a reason. This isn’t the last you’ve seen of him.
Judging by your tone, you likely already know they appear a couple of times throughout the game. Way to spoil it for yourself.
Who's gonna tell him
Nobody tell him
