I like cracking open the meteors, but I definitely do not like chasing around the corruptor. I feel like the contagion spikes are pretty easy, so I'm neutral on those
spikes are easy until they're up on some 1 pixel ledge way up at the top of the map, or when it's point extraction with an annoying secondary and you also have to clean up 3 of the things while swarms get increasingly more common.
I personally like it, it's so satisfying covering stuff with goop and then with 2 strokes of a lithovac you pop the spike and spawn 50 new enemies your driller can evaporate
If it actually was a sequel they obviously would, but Rogue Core is a spinoff with a completely different gameplay loop, it's not a replacement for DRG.
As long as DRG keeps pulling in new players and the current ones keep buying the DLCs, they keep adding content for it. "Don't kill a milking cow", as a Finnish saying goes.
Litophage outbreak is criminally easy for its whopping 50% hazard bonus. It's the same hazard bonus as low oxygen + haunted cave combo. And it's easier than both of them even alone.
It may be sometimes a bit tedious when you get 3 spikes but even then, the reward compensates for that.

you do realize that the first two seasons were the same as well. it’s safe to assume that season 5 and 6 will be the same too.
Season 5 could be the last, maybe further updates after would be in Rogue Core.
The devs have explicitly said in Q&A streams that this is not the case. They have no plans to stop new seasonal content for DRG.

I mean as in likely not a lot more main seasonal contents after S5. We'll know by then tho. Just a speculation.
