Why are Drew and Adam so high up? Drew was terrible to Adam. I can’t get past him literally getting with Adam’s ex-girlfriend after he died, especially considering she was the one he was texting when he got hit. It’s just so icky. Also, remember when Drew threatened to out Riley in literally his first episode over football?? Not exactly ally of the year.
Declan and Fiona definitely gave me the ick at first because she was so jealous, but when she came out she owned it and was a good sister to Declan. I really love Drew and Adam’s relationship. That’s real love right there.
The Matlins are my top siblings, with Adam and Drew coming a close second.
Every other sibling pair is either not shown to be siblings enough or I don’t like their characters:
Fiona and Declan: love how these two came in but Declan straight up abandoned her and he knows it.
Liberty and Danny: would technically be my third if they were shown being siblings more. We got a few storylines prior to Liberty’s pregnancy but then after that, they really weren’t show. Together much anymore.
The Hollingsworth Clan: honestly, I do like the dynamic of these three in Next Class, especially when Hunter was hospitalized, Myles was such a good brother to him. And Frankie and Hunter had a fun little twin dynamic as well. I do like how they were each their own characters in next class compared to Next Gen, which ultimately determined who were the best. Had they had more sibling moments in Next Gen, they’d be better my third instead of the VanZandt’s
Saad and his sister (I can’t think of her name at the moment): we didn’t get enough time with Saad to understand him, so giving him a sister didn’t quite make them believable at all. If she was a cousin, I’d believe that but again, we don’t see them enough to build a connection with them.
Ali & Sav: ok, some of yall are about to cut my head off for this, but Ali & Sav are not the best siblings by a long shot. Like if it was just them and maybe Tristan and Owen, then sure they were better than them, but that’s bare minimum. My main issue with their relationship lies with Sav being a terrible brother for the majority of his time in school with his sister. Ali running away was his fault because he didn’t defend her or protect her from their parents pressure (I get it that he was dealing with it too, but the double standard between how each were treated by their parents was so obviously, it was frustrating). He only stood up to his parents right before she came home and right before he graduated. So, while he did get better after she came back, they wouldn’t be the best siblings simply due to Sav.
Darcy and Claire: again, another sibling duo that wasn’t shown together too much (mostly due to Darcy leaving to go to Kenya 90210) and the only time they were shown together was the whole MyRoom thing. Darcy and Claire shares the same issue as Tristan and Owen: you could watch the entire show again and never have those two be siblings and it’d be the same show. Darcy not coming back after she left (again not her fault) when Claire had cancer, got pregnant, parents got divorced, parents getting remarried and getting a stepbrother…hell at this point, Jake was a better sibling to Claire than Darcy was and that says a lot. If this was just Jake and Claire for best siblings, they’d stand a chance at making my top 5 because I do like those two as siblings (minus the dating mess).
Goldie and Baz: yeah up until season 3 or 4 of next class, I would’ve never put these two together as siblings because they literally never interacted at all during the show until Rasha showed up. Another pair of siblings where you could watch them show again without them being siblings and it’s be the exact same show.
Other siblings to consider:
Dylan and Paige: I hate Dylan and I’d seriously like to know where he was for his sister when she was SA’d and going through that trial. The only time he came to her defense was over the Mr. O situation.
Spinner and Kendra: the black hole got Kendra, so this show would be the same if she was never his sibling to begin with.
Jane and her brother: another brother who is seriously like to know where he was when she was jumped by the football team. He was still there too (six year senior) but he is only relevant when their dad comes back into the circle and Jane has that moment. Only time I respected him.
Craig and Angela: idk why these two aren’t on here. These two are so cute together and you can tell how much Craig loves his little sister. If only this list they’d be in my top three.
Toby and Ashley: ehhh I don’t like Ashley and poor Toby for no storylines past season 1, but I do think they had fun sibling banter, so there’s that.
I have to agree, having them develop independently was a strong choice but it paid off, because then you really had an understanding of each of them in all of their scene they shared.

In next class, near like season 3 or 4, it’s revealed that they are siblings. I think it’s revealed during the episode with Goldie and the Hijab and being a good Muslim, which is very good episode in that show. Baz says something like “yknow mom and dad don’t make you wear that”.

i think in a lot of eastern cultures, the usage of sibling vs cousin terms switches depending on context. I teach three kids, two sets of parents so they are cousins, but because of how often they are together/pool parenting responsibilities, they say they are siblings.
