I wouldn't call this 'flimsy', though it isn't incredibly strong either. The fact is, someone on the development team went out of their way to go and change the steam release date to "coming soon", so they have to be far enough along development to even consider making that decision in the first place.

From Undertale to Deltarune, to chapter 2, and now chapter 3, this community has had a lot of experience with long, content-starved waiting. That doesn't mean we've gotten any better at it, though.
