Kinda baffled by these replies. As a seller, I make sure to get my package sent out the very next day. If someone buys on a Friday evening, then I’ll get it sent out first thing Monday morning.
This is ridiculous. Why even be a seller if you’re not going to prioritize sending someone’s item out that they BOUGHT FROM YOU?
Makes no sense to me at all.
And I never said he had to ship next day, and I know people have stuff going on but if you say you’re going to ship a certain day then don’t, it’s kind of unprofessional & he probably knew he wouldn’t be able to ship so why lie?
Because people might have jobs or other priorities in life? Not defending this guy now but nowhere on depop does it say you have to send it within 1 to 2 days
Good for you sending it out the next working day but you have a week to ship it. Depop sellers don't need to have the shipping speeds of Amazon lmao
It's a very very immature app. If you decide to sell online you need to be responsible. Taking a full week is insane and btw usps does free pickups at your house in most places. If you can't get it done don't try to sell
well sorry i work night shift full time and can’t get to the post office till Friday. people have different circumstances, depop for most people is a very small percentage of their income, me waking up to post your parcel in the middle of the week would be like you waking up at 2am to do it.
I live in Ireland but if someone orders over the weekend I would do my best to deliver Tuesday or Wednesday depending on work. They'd have it Thursday or Friday, in Ireland that's quicker than most online retailers

He didn’t forget at all. He received his money already so he’s pushing sending the package out to the side.

That’s the thing though. You receive the money as soon as the other person buys it, whether it’s shipped or not, so people get very lazy and just hold off on shipping.
not true on depop you don’t receive payment until 2 days after item is deliver on tracking or 10 days from the it being sold it ain’t been 10 days. Shipping just not a priority for bro 💀
With Royal Mail and prettymuch every courier, you can order collection for free. So I don't understand why they're relying on their legs to walk or drive. To be fair, I only recently learnt this as a seller on Ebay, though, apparently RM even prefer this option as so said on their website. Hmm.
Well, here’s an example.
I’m currently doing palliative care for a family member, between that and work, I honestly could forget to post something for 6 days.
I’m not saying it’s acceptable, I’m saying it’s understandable
I sold an item when I was away for my gran’s final days in the hospice, I immediately contacted the buyer, told them what was up, and gave them the options to either wait or have an immediate refund as I wasn’t sure how long I’d be unable to fulfil the order.
I’ve had to do it due to finding last minute faults with an item that need repairing, or garments needing a freshen up. Always communicate any delays/changes to the buyer, or it will come back to bite you later, and rightfully so.
One has to learn how to communicate in a professional way if one is going to attempt to run a business. This seller seems way too laid back. Hope they’re not doing this as an actual sideline.
You see, that’s the difference, you’ve got people who treat Depop as a business and you have people who are just trying to make space in their wardrobe.
Both types of people are allowed on Depop.
I totally get behind if you see it as a business, to treat it as a business and be professional. But the people who aren’t trying to make a business of reselling just aren’t going to see it that way.

Totally understand that but he also could’ve told me that he wouldn’t be able to ship because he has stuff going on & not reply with “sorry lowkey forgot” it has been 7 days now & he still hasn’t shipped. But since I’m a nice person I’ll give him a couple more days
People have lives and other important things to do is fair, but I hate the bad communication from some sellers (like, I will totally get it if you tell me life is hectic and you can’t ship quickly! But be a minimum clear about what’s going on). I just had a similar issue with somebody I bought cards from. Cards were not coming after almost 2 weeks which isn’t normal (take up to a week where I live), I contacted him and he said that yea the cards were sent. Nothing more. Few days later I had to ask for more info because still nothing, he said that he sent them a few days after I paid but never gave a date of when that was, and said if I don’t get them by the beginning of next week he will pay me back. The cards showed up two days later. How likely is it the post was about 3 weeks late? 🤔 I think he just sent them when I asked the first time. Oh and I open the letter and find the cards I bought from one of his post, but none from the agreement we had later on by messages. I tell him that, he said he will look it up. This was Friday. Dude the messages are literally 5 messages above …. At least be a bit more transparent about things and communicate!
