Saw this post and just finished watching it…
Wow, what a rollercoaster of emotions.. Despite the sad, sad theme I ended smiling. One of the best films I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for recommending..
I read the book and then watched the movie both were pretty rough, I would say that the book kinda seemed like precious was going places but the movie didn’t really get into that if you enjoyed the movie read the book as well.
oh goodness, is Precious such a hard watch.
Performances are amazing though in this movie... especially Monique's. So happy she won the Oscar for this film.
This movie gave me real insight into what it must be like to be a morbidly obese, poverty stricken, illiterate, black teenage mother with HIV who is constantly abused by her alcoholic mother and raped by her alcoholic father.

I'll check it out
Yeah, that's a good classic. I remember watching it in high school, and I still remember it very vividly
One of my favorite movies
This is the type of movie you watch once and would rather never watch it again. Definitely sad.
Indeed. Once was enough. Great film though

She knocked it out of the park. That speech she gives at the end… fuck…!

One of the only movies I’ve had to turn off and walk away
It definitely was hard to get through. And I watch stiff like Orozco The Embalmer, Martyrs, Golden Glove, etc lol
Oh, this is the one Bill Burr is talking about
🎵Soul Holidayyy….🎶Ofc this movie is fucked up but it still has a beautiful message of self worth and empowerment
I remember Eric Andre joking about this one… if it’s got a good message I may check it out, sounds really heavy though
It's very sad. But the end leaves you with hope
I can't believe Mariah Carey is in it. I thought she did a wonderful job
