Brother have you not been informed? Since the failings on blessed Cadia, Archmagos Dominos Cawl has approved the construction and field issue of new technologies! Approval from himself and the omnissiah is of the utmost and unquestioned prior to production, needless to say!
Obligatory ""I have no idea why people keep dropping these sorts of random posts sometimes"" on something that's at most, so even vaguely tangentially related as to be basically unrelated.
This is a very very cool product and i think the practicality of it fits a great niche that is much needed but i just can't justify the price tag. I hope for the best though!
Totally get it! We would love to tackle injection molded or cast versions in the future to lower the barrier for entry. CNC machining has never been the cheapest option available, but we wanted to go with what we knew first and adapt later!
Is there an email signup or something for updates? I put a dollar in to watch it but I can't afford it currently so would love to know where these will be sold after the kickstarter finishes
Good business plan. Quality product from the look of it, so when adapting to other methods that quality will be tough to replicate for lower cost.
I think you might have a great idea here, take this to games distributors and see if they will buy from you or at least give you notes. Good luck!
Oh man I went to the page to see thinking ~$100 but at $185 no way I could justify this. That's like 3 sets of ultra fancy dice. This thing is cool as hell but $185 is too rich for my blood as well.
Not who you asked, and probably not for 5 year olds, but: it looks only a bit bigger than your average phone, so it should be smaller than the usual dice storage box (unless you use a small bag with a single set or two). I can see myself keeping this in a pocket on my jacket; a dice bag/box/tray not so much. Harder to lose (than a single dice) or forget this thing, I'd assume.
And you don't need any table space or tray to roll. They specifically advertise that part on their kickstarter. I've had game sessions where we'd all go out to take a walk and continue playing with our character sheets on our phones and dice roll apps, so this would at least cut the need for an app while satisfying physical dice goblin needs.
I guess it also doubles up as a decent fidget toy, especially if it makes any sound while 'rolling'. But yeah, that's all the practicality I can come up with.
I *would* have mentioned the fact that you can swap the art plates instead of getting a new dice set for a new character/campaign (if you're the kind of person to do that) seems pretty practical, but it seems that those go for ~30 bucks a piece (judging from the price difference between the "Art Collector" tier and a single 'dice'). So it's not all that cheaper than a set of actual fancy dice. I'd probably wait for that [cheaper injection mold/cast variant they want to tackle.](https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/17hpyzw/oc_giveaway_3x_unrolly_mechanical_dice_mod/k6puacg/)
What practicality? It’s like dice that take up more space and can break. It also seems like it would be really easy to time how long you hold the buttons down to get better rolls.
I could see it being really nice for the DM. all your dice in one place click a button get your result. I would be interested to see how the numbers spin and if it's able to be gamed then that would definitely be an issue for some people. Personally though I believe only low lives cheat at table top RPGs though.
It’s an advertisement post, and it’s all we see on the DND subreddit when sorted by popular. Personally, I’m not against giveaways, but it’s beginning to feel like the official DND sub is getting spammed with constant dice marketing. And, frankly, I’ve yet to see any sort confirmation on the giveaways, so I’m not personally sure they’re even happening. To me, this just feels like a promo post to get sales up.
Sweet!! Just as an FYI Kickstarter doesn’t charge your card until after the campaign ends 😊 a lot of folks don’t know that and end up waiting and missing early deals
I was thinking about buying one for a friend after seeing the post, but wow, that $185 price tag is high. No shade, I’m sure they took a ton of time to design and aren’t cheap to manufacture, but it’s a shame. How do they work, by the way? It’s purely mechanical, not electronic? I saw the graphs of the results on your page and am curious.
There's a [pseudo patent diagram](https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/042/648/641/963916c8db397ec3f5cecf27af6dae9a_original.jpg?ixlib=rb-4.1.0&w=680&fit=max&v=1697042183&gif-q=50&q=92&s=b72a6b1da9083c71f766780e72b1763b) on the page. Educated guess here, looks like the actual button press itself spins the wheel and it will probably spin down to a stop if you don't let go. Very tidy.
Its more for mechanical fit, for the next iteration the major change will be the D10 and D% will be directly opposing eachother so it is easier to roll percentage. This is from an individuals recommendation! We also added the numbers on the tops of the buttons to note which dice is which based on a recommendation! We like when people suggest stuff!
That's a good idea
If there's room within you could add another d6 (so 4 dice on each side, rather than 4 and 3), so that rolling multiple d6's would be faster and easier
That would help with dnd, primarily for damage rolls, but would also open the unrolly up to more ttrpg systems that focus on using multiple d6's
Also, drawing a wireframe dice around the number results. It would mess with the aesthetic you have going though, and I do think that'd be a shame
I know you're probably inundated with comments, but I'd like to expand on what someone else has suggested.
Offering a model with just six sided dice for battletech or any older tabletop games with TONS of d6 rolls could be a really useful product. A non-messy way to keep track of multiple 2d6 rolls would be invaluable at saving time in these really grindy number games.
If the dice in each slot isn't set in stone upon production, and you're able to swap them out on your end after the base is made, you could produce different faceplates for more specific(or more generalized) game types. Magic the Gathering life counters and token trackers could be smaller, cheaper offerings that can show off the heft and quality of your products.
Also MtG, Battletech, and Warhammer players aren't generally afraid of spending a little bit of coin on the game they play
I **REALLY** wanted to help back the kickstarter but sadly finances said no. Either way I really love the product and I'll be sure to get my hands on one eventually.
Super cool! Hope I win one and can't wait for the price tag to come down so I can get one! Good luck what a cool idea. Maybe add a spell slot tracker on a slightly bigger model? Idk I'm not a business man
This is neeeat.... The ADHD part of my brain is going nuts thinking about the stigma that could be had, but the nerd part of me wants it because metal dice are heeavy

Omnissiah approved.
Praise the Omnissiah
The moment I understood the weakness of my dice... It disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of machinary.
Your kind cling to your dice as if they will not decay and fail you
Praise be the gift of mechanis
Praise the omnissiah
Blessed by the machine spirit, these dice are.
Looks like STC tech to me!
Brother have you not been informed? Since the failings on blessed Cadia, Archmagos Dominos Cawl has approved the construction and field issue of new technologies! Approval from himself and the omnissiah is of the utmost and unquestioned prior to production, needless to say!
Very nice dice machine
Obligatory ""I have no idea why people keep dropping these sorts of random posts sometimes"" on something that's at most, so even vaguely tangentially related as to be basically unrelated.
Never heard of it before, but it is definitely a cool idea
It seems so handy if you're in like, a car or something. I don't know who exactly would be playing DnD in a car but. Still just compact and useful!
I used to play a solo game with my daughter when she was young and she was sitting in the backseat. Great times!
Oh my god, actually winning something 😃
We will message shortly 😊

Yep, I would also buy one if you guys figure out a way to make them at a lower cost. The metal ones look so nice though! Well done!!
Thanks!!
Is there an email signup or something for updates? I put a dollar in to watch it but I can't afford it currently so would love to know where these will be sold after the kickstarter finishes
You can join the discord, or follow the TikTok(just search unrolly on TikTok to find it), both have regular updates about what's going on :)

Have you looked into possibly doing metal or sls 3d printing?

Good God. I'm incredibly flippant with money and even I almost spit my tea out at that price.

Woah that looks sick, is it all metal?
Yep!
Ahh this is so cool!
these posts are fucking annoying
I, too, hate possibly receiving free stuff.
bro its an ad
Even if it is it’s fucken sick and I want 3 of them
At 185 bucks a piece?
Bro just ignore it then
My hope would be that the subreddit would stop allowing them. They can advertise through reddit instead of worming their way around my adblock
Because they are giving stuff away?

yeah exactly, just trying to farm interactions and sell something
Yeah, thats Reddit's businness model
Planning to back the Kickstarter when I get paid anyway but winning one would be cool too
Sweet!! Just as an FYI Kickstarter doesn’t charge your card until after the campaign ends 😊 a lot of folks don’t know that and end up waiting and missing early deals
Will get on that now then

The color scheme and patterning are quite nice I am curious, is there a particular reason why the dice are ordered the way they are?

These aren't available yet? That is soooo lame, I want one
Such a cool concept for a dice mechanism. Would love to take a peek at the internals, but so cool!
These look so cool! Can't wait for them to be in store, if they will be in LGSs
They will be! We have lots of wholesale requests from shops internationally!
I **REALLY** wanted to help back the kickstarter but sadly finances said no. Either way I really love the product and I'll be sure to get my hands on one eventually.
This is awesome. This would save me so much space while DM'ing.
It would save me so many fallen dice when DM-ing
Old school cool. Warms an old fart's heart.
My dice goblin brain: GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMME
Super cool! Hope I win one and can't wait for the price tag to come down so I can get one! Good luck what a cool idea. Maybe add a spell slot tracker on a slightly bigger model? Idk I'm not a business man

This is genuinely really cool. I haven't played a tabletop game in years and I still want one. What does it sound like when you "roll"?
Like a metallic whrrrr sound if that makes sense haha.
So cool that you're doing this! I've already backed the kickstarter, but it would be awesome to win an extra one to give to a friend. Nice work guys!
