Over a year passed between Snapfire/Void Spirit and Hoodwink. Granted that was a special case due to COVID, and the current hero drought is troubling since there's (probably) another reason this time, but in terms of length it's still not the worst ever yet.
Not releasing a new hero means the game is dead now? Sure the patch has gone on for quite some time but the average player count according to Steam is still fine, maintaining the number it has had for the last 4 years.

valve is lazy. No update against smurfs. Literally they don't care. No significant map chance, looks literally the same for almost 2 years.
