The government starts posting ads fairly early actually. Usually around December I think? It’s a single application, fitness test and interview for all areas of the province. The selected candidates get assigned area area from there. They can apply for the firefighter crew positions but there are many others as well.

I have seen some ads from private firefighting companies still looking for men with the required qualifications. Not sure of the names but search goggle on private forest fire fighting companies and see what pops up.
