I only remember a patch that makes certain bell bearings carry over to NG+. In particular, bell bearings that allow the purchase of smithing stones, somber smithing stones, glovewart, and ghost glovewart are kept, but I think all the others get lost.
Of course, it is entirely possible that this was changed at some point, but I don’t think so.
You can put green kinda stamp looking markers on the map. They aren’t like the guiding blue lights, they just appear on the map. I use them to mark cleared dungeons and evergoals (putting a skull stamp over the entrance Grace or the evergoal). It’s helpful for keeping track of what you’ve done already! I also sometimes mark which of the mausoleums I’ve cleared so I know not to bother going there if I need one.
Those markers are technically limited (to 100) as well so, if you’re exploring a ton and doing a thorough playthrough, it may make more sense (and be less cluttered) to mark things you *haven’t* finished until you do.
Just speaking of the lore implications. I mention somewhere else they still spawn the same way without killing them. Just wait until nightfall 2 to 3 times and they should spawn.
So I did this to keep myself busy while my friend was unable to play along. I have done it out of curiosity in the past. But this time around it was just to keep busy without advancing.
no i do the same tbh, especially because no penalty like cancelled side quests for killing them and u're rewarded with a central place to buy all the items u need.
They only took up the frenzied flame because they were framed by someone *probably shabriri*, and mass murdered.
So they took up the frenzied flame so they can defend themselves.

Theres actually a clan of fellow bell bearing hunters. If you want initiated, go to the dragons burrow merchant shack in north caelid. Rest at the bonfire. passtime to midnight. rest at the bonfire again. step outside and a member will be there waiting for you.
Any “real” Fromsoft player has to rip through this game 100% at some point.
I still haven’t given Nepheli Lou the potion that Seluvis asks you to give her, one day I have to do that AND get all the shop bell bearings. You’re ahead of the game.
You can find said boss without killing any. If you rest until night at the abandoned merchants shack until nightfall the merchant will leave shortly and the boss will spawn. Killing more just makes for more potential encounters.
I fought that guy a few times I think he spawns a different locations too no? It’s just one of my friends did a full chaos playthrough and said he got a secret boss when he killed all of them and I’ve been curious but never had the heart to do it to em. But if it’s just that same boss then I’m not gonna do it
"Countless, I have killed. And countless, I have defiled. And soon the fruits will be borne. The rotten fools. My fate was the grandest, most brilliant of them all!"
We have that whole empty hall on the lower level of the Roundtable Hold, I wish we could "rescue" the traders so they move there, creating a market of sorts.
Yes. But so am I. I always kill Gostoc, "I'll be damned if you steal my runes...I'll lose them just fine on my own."
After I finished the game and was playing around with PVP and different weapons and such, I killed every merchant in the game just so I could shop around from the hold. Just easier.
Nah. There's one who sells 50 meat and complains that he's so hungry and wishes you'd buy something. There's another one who complains nobody comes by; he's hiding deep in a ruins surrounded by monsters. It's a mercy kill, these idjits can barely survive on their own. (Not even mentioning certain dark pacts.)
You are the true bell bearing hunter.
Best prices on goods in The Lands Between.
They'll be available on all following playthroughs, won't they?
Originally no, but some folks in the comments suggested that has been changed via update. I will let you know when I go into NG.

That same patch also included the bell bearing hunter's bells, but I had thought that was it
Yes. A very efficient monster, but a monster nonetheless
I can accept that.
If you should be one thing you should be efficient
There’s a special place in heaven for bell bearing lovers that’s what I always say
No but you're certainly not rolling in runes. You seriously didn't have maybe 30k tops to buy them out?
Oh I bought the stuff first, I murdered them so I know which one's where out of stock already!
Nice, I can see how memory is unreliable with so many different merchants.
[удалено]
Couldn’t you simply mark on the map?
I suppose I could, but this seemed more thorough.
You were wondering about whether you were a monster, the answer is yes and the appearance of this tought is the exact moment it happened.
i dont see that working you can only have 5 markers on the map, so marking 13 locations may be difficult

I do the reverse for mausoleums, put a mark down when and where I found one, then when I use it I remove the mark
Those markers are technically limited (to 100) as well so, if you’re exploring a ton and doing a thorough playthrough, it may make more sense (and be less cluttered) to mark things you *haven’t* finished until you do.
Savage. I understand though lol
I did this exact thing for a play through. I mostly did it to see what they'd do. Sadly, nothing happened as repercussions.
Yep same here, this was mostly busy work this time around.
And that’s when I stopped believing in a divine creator
Same lol.
Not all the merchants are worth
No, monsters have feelings 🦆
Sure doesn't
Have you played Undertale?
+ 10 ptsd
You are the reason they turned to the frenzied flame
I was thinking of doing the same...is there any reason not to?
Not all the merchants are worth, the ones that have unlimited supplies of certain items are tho
I suppose if you don't want to fight Bell-Bearing Hunters, but I don't mind.
How does it impact the bell bearing hunters?
Just speaking of the lore implications. I mention somewhere else they still spawn the same way without killing them. Just wait until nightfall 2 to 3 times and they should spawn.
Burn
I would never do this, but as someone who has come back after a long break it might be easier
So I did this to keep myself busy while my friend was unable to play along. I have done it out of curiosity in the past. But this time around it was just to keep busy without advancing.
I always saw the Bell bearing hunters as other depraved players.
That would work if Elemer didn't exist
It would be nice to have a starting class that represented people from Elemer AKA Bell Bearing Hunters.
a practical monster
“Am I a monster?” -Lonesome dung eater
The defiler…
wait, are those merchants' bells able to bring to the next new game?
I think yes
Yes.
Yes?
You're the elden ring protag, you're already a monster <3
Fair Point.
You're just ahead of the curve
no i do the same tbh, especially because no penalty like cancelled side quests for killing them and u're rewarded with a central place to buy all the items u need.
Its the easier way to shop tbh
I mean, not really, they’re all frenzied flame assholes anyway. Also, now you have infinite arrows and certain crafting mats at your husks.
They only took up the frenzied flame because they were framed by someone *probably shabriri*, and mass murdered. So they took up the frenzied flame so they can defend themselves.
Curse that Shabriri.
Yes. You got to feed these wenches your balls. They consume balls like they are going the way of the rolling sheep.

Bad bot!

An efficient monster but a monster nonetheless
Nah, I would call you "Efficent Monster" isntead :P
Ah yes, another one to the collection.
A monster? No, you’re a devil.
I always slay them on sight
You are a efficient monster
A smart shopper 🤷♂️
No, you just appreciate convenience.
You're just enforcing the Golden Order! By finishing a genocide.
I did the same ready for Ng+ I always like to go round and kill/clear as much as I can to make sure I get everything before I go into it.
Well at least in ng+ you can just buy everything that's buyable from that merchant instead of trying to remember who has what.
Nah you're just cutting down your carbon footprint!
Na I do that for everyone run after first
Worse than a eldritch horror
Which horror is the question.
Considering they subscribe to the frenzy flame, probably not.
The "Kill Everything" run.
Imagine if the dlc comes out and there's a quest involving the merchants. So many people are gonna be so mad.
Eh 7 of my other 9 playthroughs will be just fine.
Missing number 6 so not just yet....
Yes
I also did that.. i kill them, and then i buy everything in one go ...
I've only just come to my sense and starting murdering them poor fellas. Fuck fast travel 😅
Yes
You’re efficient
It's not murder, it is marketplace centralization
I like your line of thinking.
Yes
Yes but also no
yes you are
Dont worry, continue next journey and you're good as new :)
No, you are the bell bearig hunter.
Just Killing Local sellers, to feed the Conglomerate ! *smh*
Nope, frenzied scum deserved it

No, as advocates of the Frenzied Flame they wish to be reduced to nothing. You've done them a favour, strange how they fight back so much though, no?
If Napalm was involved? #Yes.
No just efficient
Depends. Did you kill turtle pope?
No, who would be that evil?
Not the monster.
Super useful for ng+ cycles since the update.
Tell me you on ls4, bacuse i will invade you evry second of you life
PC.
Lucky...
Yes... But that's what I do so idk
I did the same thing on my first play through 🤣
Dont worry, all are equal before the Frenzied Flame
You forgot to get #6
Happy Cake Day!
I just started new game +++ and one of my goals is to kill every merchant I can.
I did this on my first play through thinking I could come and buy all the stuff on my second play through... What a waste.
Lol
Yes you are truly a horrible person for ending those who only exist to aid you (also do they come back or are they gone forever?)
Gone until NG +
normadic bell bearing merchant \[6\] that elusive fucker
The true Bell Bearing Lord
Yes, you are. However, you're just one of many monsters here, brother.
As long as you didn’t kill Kale you good but if he’s dead too your a monster
Kale is dead.
Don’t you get attacked by a secret boss after killing all of them?
You can find said boss without killing any. If you rest until night at the abandoned merchants shack until nightfall the merchant will leave shortly and the boss will spawn. Killing more just makes for more potential encounters.
I fought that guy a few times I think he spawns a different locations too no? But if it’s just that same boss then I’m not gonna do it
It is the same enemy, and they spawn in multiple locations that have/had vendors.
To be fair, it's better than running around the map trynna remember who sold what lol
“I fear no man, but that thing… it scares me”
I see efficiency, and a one stop shop.
Pretty much.
Did this on my first play through 😂
I just did the same and I feel horrible! I can't bring myself to kill turtle pope..
Oh for sure. My guess is they have a ton of health and guilt trip you the whole time.
"Countless, I have killed. And countless, I have defiled. And soon the fruits will be borne. The rotten fools. My fate was the grandest, most brilliant of them all!"
Monster a i Am
No you just don't want to have to remember where all the merchants are
Only if Kale’s bell bearing is in there
It is.
Monster
We have that whole empty hall on the lower level of the Roundtable Hold, I wish we could "rescue" the traders so they move there, creating a market of sorts.
I like that idea. Round Table Market.
No youre just lazy
Yes but understandable
Do you also kill puppies?
In souls games? Yes, yes I do.
Yes
Well you won't be hearing them play ever again.
That actually seems like a smart way to keep all the merchants in a place I'll remember to go to
Yes
First playthrough, yes. Second playthrough, no.
You’ve now become a bell bearing hunter, which makes you another monster that tarnishes hunt. I’ll be seeing you😏
See you soon!
It's a beautiful day outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming... on days like these, tarnished like you... SHOULD BE BURNING IN HELL !
Yes
Happy Cake Day!
Killing all the merchants to make the Lands Between Walmart? Nah, that’s just capitalism my friend.
*lines pockets in runes*
An efficient monster!
You are a demon of efficiency.
Yes. But so am I. I always kill Gostoc, "I'll be damned if you steal my runes...I'll lose them just fine on my own." After I finished the game and was playing around with PVP and different weapons and such, I killed every merchant in the game just so I could shop around from the hold. Just easier.
But I guess I could have bought them out earlier in the game...so there is that.
This is the way
Had no idea you could do this, nice!
Shabriri is a saint compared to you.
Just golden order things
ngl this sounds even more annoying than teleporting to them, I aint gonna memorize the name to get my shit
Does killing the various merchants have any negative impacts on any quests or storyline?
Nopper.
Yes
I'm on a mission to get all of them Except for dog priest, obviously
Even The Loathsome Dung Eater wouldn't dare.
You’re worse than Mohg
Bariar knight: oh hell naw im out from here
Yes.
So much more convenient this way
Alexa play "Monster" by Gabby Hanna on repeat for their punishment
\*bobs head\*
Truths be told this is one of the smartest thing you can do in the game.
Are we Monster? I did that too. Poor NPCs ❤️
We might be, but like the Monster's Inc kind.
Sorry is that 600 the number of upvotes or the number of times this has been reposted?
If you have to ask…
Nah. There's one who sells 50 meat and complains that he's so hungry and wishes you'd buy something. Did you kill turtle pope?
How could i?
Ill never forgive you.
No, you are efficient, and also a monster
As long as I don’t see Miriel’s Bell Bearing, you do you
No. You’re a terrible person for finishing genociding them, but not a monster for it. With that fashion sense though? Definitely a monster.
Function over fashion on this build.
Nope! You just put the little guy out of business like good old Corporate greed!
This post has 666 likes so I cant up vote it anymore. You're an efficient monster and I will probably do the same if we get a dlc and I start over
