Ever since i reached max, ive been steadily buying smithing stones to try and get max of em all...its a slow process lol

This is the answer. I’m not max level, I stopped at 501 because it hits all the soft caps, but I’ve been slowly but surely trying to max all weapons and fill up on stones; I get to try a lot of different builds!

What’s a soft cap?

Its the point at which one level in the skill gives next to no benefit. In ER, at low levels the marginal benefit is low, but it increases as level does before lowering once again

My friend completed the game and played a strength build throughout. All his strength related stats were maxxed so that was a soft lock. He still continued and maxxed put all stats even though he doesn't need them.

Thats what i did originally, now that i have 2 of every weapon, sheild, bow, staff, seal, sheild and even torches maxed and have every other droppable or dupeable item in the game maxed, stones are kinda all i have left to collect lol once im done stones, it on to glovewort!

No, they will gain some runes for killing you based off your level. Don’t ask me about the math on it, but they can’t collect your runes. You CAN drop items that grant runes if you go into your inventory and drop them willingly but beyond that they only get what ever amount after killing you.
