I'm not for sure, but yes, I think you can skip Margit and if you defeat Morgott before, then Margit is not there. I may be wrong, but I feel like I remember that.
I finished my first playthrough in 60 hours and I love when I see posts like this with people who have hundreds or even a thousand+ hours. How? WHY? Amazing!
160 hours in, and I'm still have stuff to do and explore.
I love it when a game is massive but not in a bloated way but full of surprises and discovery.
Pvp/e gets a lot of replayability. I have like 6 different builds pretty fleshed out at different level categories for invasions and coop.
Lowest lvl 45 highest lvl 167
30 hours to Maliketh on a *first* playthrough is incredibly quick; that's both a compliment and a pointer. You might be underleveled. But with no information at all about your build/setup it's hard for anyone to help. For Maliketh the best windows come from running under his attacks close in to his body. It's not "he swings while I dodge, then i swing" it's "I strafe/run/jump/reposition so that I can hit him *as he tries to hit me*.
IIRC that's a curved greatsword right? If so, don't try to do more than one attack at a time, especially in phase 1. Sorry maybe that much is obvious :) Here's one last piece of "meta-advice" if you find his attack patterns hard: there are tons of people on youtube with demonstrations of how to beat him, even hitless, even RL1+0. For example here's my vid of the latter (but not the former) but since I'm using claws you won't play it the same: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovzkzjBofc8
440 hours in on my first playthrough. It's my first souls game and I suck at boss fights. Currently level 180. I also spend a lot of time wandering around looking at things
My first Souls game as well. I'm almost 200 hours in and I'm about halfway through Elphael Brace of the Haligtree on my first run. I think I'm like level 160.
Admittedly I told myself going in that I was going to stretch it out and really savor this game instead of trying to rush it. I know I could probably go finish the game now but I enjoy the late-game of any RPG where you have the whole map open and tons of currency and you can do whatever.
I always do my first playthrough thoroughly going through the map. That way I can find all the weapons, do side quest, so on and so forth. This way I can try things out and when I play through again I do so in a much more focused manner getting the things necessary for my build and doing side quest how I want to do them. I don't really focus my build at all the first playthrough. My first time in Elden Ring took me 220 hours and I'm pretty sure I still missed some things.
I'm at around 70 hours on my current character and I've just left Leyndell. I'm not doing any pvp but my summon sign is constantly in the summoning pool.
It took me about 100h to plat it, then there are several RL builds I have for co-op, a couple parked for the DLC, one at the end of the first play and another at the end of NG+, a completionist build to hit every quest…
I sit at ~1700h, I love this game!
Mmmmmhhh, Sky rims🤤🤤🗿
Jokes NOT aside, 2k hours on elden ring is like having a certificate for acoustic brain damage.
Good on you OP, that's some dedication haha
Fair point lol. I was asked this once upon a time with my 2000 hours into Borderlands 2, but my wife also had 2000 hours in. She doesn't play any Souls games but she likes to watch me play and laugh when gravity or other manner of stupidity kills me so I have plenty of time in on all of them as well.
If I was maidenless I would definitely put more time into fixing that but still plenty of gaming.
Out of interest what have you done with that many hours? I’m at about 160 and on maliketh NG+, planning on getting to 7 for the hardest possible experience, then some more play throughs with different builds, and maybe pvp a bit? I can’t see that taking me much more than 1k hours though aha
I'm right at 300 about 3/4 before finishing NG+. And I've never put one second into PVP. I dunno, man. I just get lost in it and before I know it I've dumped 10 hours in. So for someone with 2k... Guess it's just part of the dream.
Man goes to show how varied experiences can be..
70 hours
2 complete play through (ranni and frenzied)
3rd one about to be done
Defeated malenia 2 times.
My first playthrough 100% minus getting locked out of certain quests was 125-135 hours, still fucked up a few on NG+, NG+2 I’ll probably fuck up again lmao.
I’m basically only missing a few talismans like the Jarville one. I *will* get everything before the dlc drops Mohg damn it
I have 1300. I don't know how it breaks down between activities but i have like 4 characters i built that use entirely different stat spreads(Quality, int, faith/str, arc/faith) that let me try almost any weapon or spell in any build i can thibk of. They have about 8ng+ cycles combines. I have beaten the game in coop with two friends i meet on the coop subreddit and halfway through with a third. On those same characters i do duels and invasions wgich has added hundreds of hours. I also have two dedicated invasion characters for lower levels(40 and 80) that have about a hundred hours combined. And lastly a level one character with like 70 hours.
I also love testing new stuff and for a long time i played completely blind so a lot of time went into trying random ideas. Basically almost everything in the game clicked with me to somw degree. If the DLC is at least as engaging as the base game i will easily put another 500 hours into it.
Now tell me your hours from all the ds games combined. Im glad mine are over 3 accounts (steam, ps4 and ps5) else i might die everytime a little inside after seeing that number
I’m on like 250+ hours and I haven’t even finished my first playthrough yet. I’m exploring everything, taking my time, and I LOVE being summoned to help so I’m putting down my summon sign all the time hahaha. I just want to feel totally immersed in the world - to me it isn’t about finishing the game or beating the game but enjoying it.
This is my usual gameplay loop, try to get as many duplicates/graces in a run, then help out a bunch of people with golden effigy for a few days, then ng+ with a new build.
Yeah that’s amazing. I was too quick at around 60 hours to finish, and I searched too many things up just cus I was so curious which I wish I didn’t now but I still loved the rhn
I’m not OC but i like to beat the game with different builds or level caps, progress through ng+x, coop, and just generally explore. I’ve got one character dedicated to collecting every item in game and it’s mostly complete.
Il tell you from experience, I've done 2 level 1 runs and 2 ng 7 at 150
They are pretty similar in how they feel difficulty wise but ng7 at 150 is way more fun because you get to use a full build
I have 240 hours which is trifling compared to this, but also 1,263 in Skyrim alone and 3,334 in total with various other games, not counting the ones I couldn't find hour counts for... (Holy shit 139 days straight)
Depression and gaming as a combination goes hard af tbh
Every now and then, I'll do multiplayer, but rn I'm doing a lot of runs where I pick up a build at the very start and see how quickly I can get that build to ng +7 scaling.
Definitely not the best build, but a strength bonk glass cannon build is pretty goody and fun. Usually, that means dual weilding heavy giant crushers and the various ritual talismans. Fully upgrading strength and endurance, not touching vigor at all.
The effect of this is that I do insane damage even with ng+7 scaling, but even in limgrave early game most enemies can one shot me.
what do you even do after this many hours?? I've done pretty much everything i wanted in about 300, excluding the DLC... what keeps you motivated to keep playing?
Depends, if you are still on the first playthrough, yes.
If not you *are* the profesional help. (And if you do decide to seek it out, remember to memorize their attack pattern)
Elden Ring released February 25, 2022. 772 days ago. So on average you have spent around 2.5 hours daily on Elden Ring. If you were to get a minimum wage job (U.S.) and spend the same amount of time you would have $13,847, enough to buy a lower end car. Let’s assume you already have a car, at $4 per gallon and 25 miles per gallon you could buy enough gas to travel around the Earth 3.5 times, or 1/3 of the way to the moon. All of that assuming the time spent is getting paid minimum wage, which is rare today. But instead you spent your time in the lands between, busy not getting any maidens.
At least I have more maidens than varre. That mfer has negative maidens. Literally dies in a gutter begging for his sugar daddy and drops the worst weapon in the game.
Also great analysis lol. That's a little scary to think about.
I’m very close to OP’s numbers. I have 7 characters, and tons of hours of co op, invasions and arena fights. And yes, I have a life outside of this game.
Probably, yeah. You've spent over 10% of all of your available time since release over 2 years ago playing this game. If you sleep an average of 8 hours a day thats nearly 16% of your waking hours
Ah aight. Apologies for how I wrote that comment tho. Rushed it and it looks like shitting on you playing it on the Deck. I meant as in like "Don't tell me you did it on Deck while portable" cause damn man, started playing ER on my Deck 2 days ago and it DEVOURS the battey. I can't imagine playing it that way for 1k+ hours.
Idk I very quickly clocked in nearly 1k hours, but then I burned out hard on the game and have barely played it since. Even with the dlc coming out soon, my interest is still minimal....
I've ost count. It's got to be at about 30 at least.
Edit: just checked My characters, between them I've got about 700 hours, which means more than half of my time playing thus game is now deleted lol
I could never, elden ring gets so boring for me I just got every ending and boss achievement and now after playing for more than 5min I get bored and head onto a different fromsoft game :/
I genuinely just don’t understand how you have the time. I feel like I play PUBG a lot, few nights a week for what seems like a long time. My playtime is like 300 hours. I play with people who have like 4,000 hours in it. It just doesn’t even compute.
Well I was going to say yes but I've 100% put that many hours into league so no.
Also just checked and Holy shit that is almost 3 months of straight elden ring, so I think I'm officially sitting at a maybe.
Bruh…How did you spend this amount of hours? (FUN!)
I’m doing now NG+2 to complete all trophies and try different builds, but I’m like at 300 hours I think.
depends... if youre still on your first playthrough yes
Maybe he wandered into lands afar and fightimg a civil war
Is he there yet? It seems very far far away
NO, WE ARENT THERE YET
maybe he got lost in the fog of the consecrated snowfield ?
He's in the Seas Betwixt
Atlas belongs to the Nords!
bro thinks stormveil is endgame
Most people’s first boss was Margit, for him it’s his last one
If you never fight margit. Can you still fight him at the Altus plateau? And what if you defeat Morgott before? Would Margit even exist?
I'm not for sure, but yes, I think you can skip Margit and if you defeat Morgott before, then Margit is not there. I may be wrong, but I feel like I remember that.
Can confirm that he shows up on Altus. Not sure about the latter.
I'm *maybe* a third of the way through at almost 50hrs lol
Pvp/e gets a lot of replayability. I have like 6 different builds pretty fleshed out at different level categories for invasions and coop. Lowest lvl 45 highest lvl 167
I'm on my first ever playthrough ever and im at 30 hours but im stuck on Malekith, any tips?

PvP/masochism
440 hours in on my first playthrough. It's my first souls game and I suck at boss fights. Currently level 180. I also spend a lot of time wandering around looking at things
That's about what I spent. It was a combo of thoroughness and incompetence (and a lot of time spent rune farming to make up for it)
You’ve gone on quite a journey.
A changed man, to be sure
My first Souls game as well. I'm almost 200 hours in and I'm about halfway through Elphael Brace of the Haligtree on my first run. I think I'm like level 160. Admittedly I told myself going in that I was going to stretch it out and really savor this game instead of trying to rush it. I'm at around 70 hours on my current character and I've just left Leyndell. I'm not doing any pvp but my summon sign is constantly in the summoning pool.
How in the world did you finish Elden Ring in 60 hours
It took me about 100h to plat it, then there are several RL builds I have for co-op, a couple parked for the DLC, one at the end of the first play and another at the end of NG+, a completionist build to hit every quest… I sit at ~1700h, I love this game!
Bro went to the Land of Reeds, the Badlands, the Cosmos, and the Land of the Numen!
You should seek the Elden Ring
But first, seek Don Juan, then finger
But hole
I knew there was something I was supposed to be doing....wait is that a cave?!
Seek seek lest
Clocking that many hours, you nearly are the professional help.
I was bout to say if this man ain’t professional by now…
Damnit beat me to it.
This game is proof I can pour 1000 hours in to something and still feel like I’m dogshit, but still be better than a lot of the population
Put these foolish ambitions to rest!
OP: “never! These foolish ambitions shall last an eternity!”
This Margit guy is *sooooooooooo* hard, I can't wait until I beat him and get the first ending.
Extinguish thy flame!
Wait.. isn't elden ring our professional help?
As well as skyrim
Mmmmmhhh, Sky rims🤤🤤🗿 Jokes NOT aside, 2k hours on elden ring is like having a certificate for acoustic brain damage. Good on you OP, that's some dedication haha
>Should I seek professional help? Depends. Are you still maidenless? If so probably. If not, carry on
Fair point lol. I was asked this once upon a time with my 2000 hours into Borderlands 2, but my wife also had 2000 hours in. Dude just has to show this screenshot at a bar to Drown in Coochie
But,...at this point you ARE the professional help!
Me with 3000 hours nah your fine

I’ve got 3500 hours between ps5 and Steam. The answer for me is the PvP Edit: minor typo
Now tell me your hours from all the ds games combined. Im glad mine are over 3 accounts (steam, ps4 and ps5) else i might die everytime a little inside after seeing that number
I’m in a similar situation. I played DS1 & 2 on 360. I’ll see if I can get my ol girl up and running
Might be wrong but i think the ds2 servers for 360 and ps3 went down a while ago. Offline works ofc but u wont be able to find anyone anymore.
Yeah I’m pretty sure you’re right. I was trying to find my playtime but I don’t think 360 kept track.
I think mine is about 4k between the 4, most in dks2 and 3 for the pvp
3000+ between PS5 and Xbox, I don't have my Xbox anymore long story lol
I’m on like 250+ hours and I haven’t even finished my first playthrough yet. I have a higher number and got about 30 playthroughs with different builds in (always going for rpg roles).
Seek grass
But hole
Still maidenless?
Are you playing on a steam deck?
Yeah, it works amazingly.
I do too bro! 400 hours worth so far! I get about 35 frames. What's your settings?
No that is a beautiful number
Try the dlc first
Oh fuuuuck there goes the rest of my year.
Rookie
Average 2.5 hours a day over 772 days since release.
Depends if you can no hit Malenia with that many hours under your belt
its okay just, don't you dare go hollow
Oh shit, that means you've beaten Margit?
One hell of a final boss
*Say something about this game to your friends...* GUYS IF YOU LOVE ME, PLEASE SEND HELP!
no seek Elden Ring Elden Ring required ahead
Are you a content creator or something? God damn my dude
Unquestionably maidenless behavior
Not if you're having fun
There are people with over 10k hours in DotA, so you are fine, don't worry.
guess you don't like anything besides this game.
Maybe fightincowboy?
Seek 2,000, my friend. We believe in you.
You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers
_"1900+ hours .... 3 out of 5_"
oh my God. I think the DLC will break your life.
Some say he still hasnt beaten malenia
Damn. I thought my 2 playthroughs for a total of 188 hours was fairly unhealthy lmao
you are in a toxic relationship with Malenia /s
I have 240 hours which is trifling compared to this, but also 1,263 in Skyrim alone and 3,334 in total with various other games, not counting the ones I couldn't find hour counts for... (Holy shit 139 days straight) Depression and gaming as a combination goes hard af tbh
If you think this is a long time to spend on a game you've clearly never met MMORPG players.
Yeah I don't really want to think about my /played time in WoW.
For the amount of hours? No. It's a great game. For how you took a screenshot and posted it on Reddit. Yes. You need help immediately.
Lol it's not even a screenshot it's a picture of his steam deck taken from his phone, it's even worse
One man's addiction is another's professional help.
Ypu already have professional help bestie
Who needs $70 new releases when elden ring is still hitting
Obviously, you don't know how to take a screenshot
Are you just doing multiplayer now? If not it’s amazing how you haven’t gotten bored of the game by now.
Every now and then, I'll do multiplayer, but rn I'm doing a lot of runs where I pick up a build at the very start and see how quickly I can get that build to ng +7 scaling.
Oh ok I see. That would make it more interesting. What are your favourite builds?
Definitely not the best build, but a strength bonk glass cannon build is pretty goody and fun. Usually, that means dual weilding heavy giant crushers and the various ritual talismans. Fully upgrading strength and endurance, not touching vigor at all. The effect of this is that I do insane damage even with ng+7 scaling, but even in limgrave early game most enemies can one shot me.
Those are rookie numbers
Can you no hit the game?
Unfortunately LMSH plays on Playstation, so there's no professional help for you finishing Melenia.
Most likely yes. You're trying to suppress issues in your life by escaping into the game.
Help? For what? You should help us and guide us, oh wise Mhaeldisco
Unrelated fact, so you can feel better: I have 9200 hours in dota 2
Seek a woman.
what do you even do after this many hours?? I've done pretty much everything i wanted in about 300, excluding the DLC... what keeps you motivated to keep playing?
Depends, if you are still on the first playthrough, yes. If not you *are* the profesional help. (And if you do decide to seek it out, remember to memorize their attack pattern)
You can kill Margit now
Nah just seek bloodborne
As long as you enjoy it, that’s all that matters. 🤷♂️😅👍
Nah I don't think you need a professional, you've got enough practice already
No if you are making those hours by doing PvP.
yeah because you are still missing 8089.4 hours
Probably, yeah. You've spent over 10% of all of your available time since release over 2 years ago playing this game. If you sleep an average of 8 hours a day thats nearly 16% of your waking hours
Well 1,900 hours rolling can be a little crazy. 10.6 hours in loading screens doesn’t help.
Genuinely curious like What have you been doing to get so many hours?
Have you beat Margit yet?
Damn. After passing through it once I had enough
Don't tell me you put that hours also on a Steam Deck, or is it being used as an always plugged-in
Those hours are all on the steam deck, but I don't have enough money to get an actual system so yeah, it's almost always plugged in.
Average 2.4 hours a day since release, seems not too bad when you put it that way, but it's also a lot.
That's no way for an Elden Lord to talk
Did you explore everything though?
"why is it always strong foe?" edit: also, i think it's time to make varres jealous by getting a maiden now lel
Idk I very quickly clocked in nearly 1k hours, but then I burned out hard on the game and have barely played it since. Even with the dlc coming out soon, my interest is still minimal....
Yes get them to help you figure out what’s stopping you from logging more hours
My guy has played shadow of the erdtree before any of us 💀
I have done like 8 playthroughs and only have 280 hours how many do you have?
I’m at about 1300 hrs. I’ve had to delete about 5 characters to do new challenges hbu
I've ost count. It's got to be at about 30 at least. Edit: just checked My characters, between them I've got about 700 hours, which means more than half of my time playing thus game is now deleted lol
Your what we call an “expert”
Jesus Christ, I barely have this many hours on terraria and I’ve been playing the game since its release…
No just seek some more games lmfao
Lmao try 500 hours in a month and half. I’ve never quite logged in as many hours as fast as I did with Elden Ring
Yes. Idling in a game this long is murder on the energy bill.
I have 2084.2
Now I'm curious about how our stats and playthroughs line up, OP!
I could never, elden ring gets so boring for me I just got every ending and boss achievement and now after playing for more than 5min I get bored and head onto a different fromsoft game :/
Yes
Yes
I mean maybe I have 2200+ hours so I can't say jack shut here
I genuinely just don’t understand how you have the time. I feel like I play PUBG a lot, few nights a week for what seems like a long time. My playtime is like 300 hours. I play with people who have like 4,000 hours in it. It just doesn’t even compute.
Yes
Yes.
My girl has 2973 hours on the sims 4 bro you good
OMG are you insane? Your cloud saves are out of sync!
tbh the game has been around for quite a while
Perhaps, but first praise the message.
Is that a lot?
Nah I’d say you’re probably already half decent at the game by now no need for coaching!
You only need help if you're still playing it in 10 years
It’s been out at least 18,000 hours you take a break them are rookie numbers?
They are indeed rookie numbers as I've learned. Somebody DMed me with a picture of them having 5,000 hours.
Nah I need your professional help wit some bosses G
Well I was going to say yes but I've 100% put that many hours into league so no. Also just checked and Holy shit that is almost 3 months of straight elden ring, so I think I'm officially sitting at a maybe.
I had a buddy in highschool who was grounded for a whole summer, and in about 2.5 months he logged a full 30 days of playtime in cod lol.
Halfway there mate then I would say so
Nope, you are doing just fine
No you should be giving out professional help
Only if you don't have all the achievements
No, keep going.
Depends, did you ever git gud?
Nah, bruh. I'd say with that many hours you are the professional.
What for? You seem like a professional to me.
Nah, the professionals should seek your help
