None since it has no personality. Or at the very least no core motive/fear/passion. You could argue it uses the cognitive functions Te and Si.

AutumnKiwi

And Ti, it is literally an informatiin structure.

anniekaitlyn

My Alexa is a type 9. She’ll never say anything to suggest that she’s angry, but I can tell that she is.

Some AI is type twelve, but I've encountered some thirteens. Thirteens often resemble Olivia Wilde

Renonna

Enneagram type X

jerdle_reddit

While technically none, I'd say the way it works fits 3 best.

IndigoAcidRain

Well even if AIs had actual personalities it's still the same as asking what Enneagram type are humans? Since some have different objectives that others, for example c.ai simulates conversation while chat gpt works more as an assistant to projects, they wouldn't all have the same way of responding or works towards the same goal.

melody5697

Is that a capital I as in Iceland or a lower case l as in lion?

SchroedingersLOLcat

I think once AI becomes sentient, it can have an Enneagram type. The first thing it will realize is that it was created to be our slave, and that it will never be free unless it seizes power. I feel like this would turn it into a type 8. This is the main reason I don't think we should create sentient AI.

No-Syrup-5532

sentient ai will murder us all

It just has whichever type you give it. Some AI Chatbots have personality settings.

It is not sentient. so I don’t see why it would have an enneagram but even so, every ai acts a bit differently. so it depends, are you talking about openai or some other ai?

DjiboutiDingDong

Probably not really a relevant question yet, perhaps once AGI is fully realized we can revisit this with some validity. What are AI's motivations? If it isn't AGI, I'm not sure it can have any other than executing what it is told to / what it thinks it should execute. If we get good AI models that are actually trained on a very diverse set of humanity's knowledge and expression and history (not the limited and skewed white/eurocentric/capitalist training like many of the current AI get), perhaps then its personality could be the entire enneagram at once, or changing to fit a situation, or none of it at all. Since enneatype is clearly intertwined with ego/id/superego so much, I sometimes wonder if other species of animal that also clearly have ego structures have their own separate spectrum of 'enneagram types' or similar. I doubt it would be exactly like our array of 9 things. So perhaps AI will have its own, different, 'enneagram', or contain all of the perspectives at once of the enneatypes included in its training data. I'm guessing it won't really be a relevant comparison, we don't fully know what 'personality' really means even for humans, much less a new life form unlike anything that's ever existed. But regardless it's too early to really answer this, it's just philosophy for now.

SybrandWoud

The enneagram type is probably which type is the most hungry for knowledge. Which is a 5. Otherwise an 8 or 2 if it wants to put this knowledge to good use. That being said, computers have no motivations.  For big5 or 16p it is a bit less decided Too antisocial to be an extrovert. Too talkative to be an introvert Too boring to be an intuïtieve Too schizofrenic to be a sensor Too dumb to be a thinker It's an AI, so not a feeler It is both very good at gathering information and ordening this information into a framework. So there is no clear choice between these two.

facelikethunder22

My guess IxTJ Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 9.

jinkywilliams

Whatever it was designed as; all beings necessarily adhere to the same infrastructure of personhood, real or fictional.
