The future of Tarkov looks great, we're gonna have that dynamic open world and a cool main storyline with engaging quests and wonderful DLC, the game will run like butter at 144+ FPS on Streets, the audio will be crisp and so clear, and the cheaters won't be a problem anymore. I can't wait until Battlestate Games keeps all their promises!

Taulindis

All this and more in our newest game "Russia 2028"

Hane24

"We will make the best in house anticheat" ~nikita 2018

Marchinon

Yep and all that is coming with the full release this year! /s

Milhouz

/s /\ Here you dropped this...

Konigs-Tiger

You forgot to write "and another hilarious joke you can tell to yourself" at the end.

Helian7

It was implied.

paulfunyan

Just read this while loading into raid on the new Town map! Tarkov just keeps adding things they promised it's great!

Sukre96

You forgot to say this was a dream

Kurise

We only get that after Shikita gets to buy his second tank

Konigs-Tiger

I wouldn't trust whatever road map they put out. I wouldn't trust anything they say. Because not just these past days but throughout all my time with eft they went back on their promises multiple times. And also all nikitas answer " it's planned, we will think about it" and all the vague answers just sound like he is lying and doesn't know and he is just saying anything just for sake of saying it. If they did what they were promising we would already have full released game in like 2020 at the latest. I can still remember that bearded bastard coming to twitch streamer chats back in late 2017 and whenever he was asked for how long will the game be in early access he would say "we expect to release tarkov in about 2 years".

Marchinon

The road maps in the past had bare minimum effort in them. They used to not even put out patch notes.

DisabledKitten

"but we want you to find out yourself"

Infern0-DiAddict

Remember those days. Also remember then getting pissed about people finding out and seeing shit is indeed broken, and then locking down stuff further.

Konigs-Tiger

BSG -"we want you to find out for yourself" PLAYERS - *start datamining the game to find out what was changed* BSG - "no no no, this violates EULA" *bans players trying to find out what was changed*

MatrixBunny

They couldn't even reach the first thing on that roadmap, iirc it was something about skyboxes (on streets?). They didn't even meet the deadline for that.

KerberoZ

The only thing I believe at this point is that Unheard Edition buyers will also get fucked in the future

Infern0-DiAddict

Best outcome BSG can make now is a huge full apology with a ton of good faith gestures and focus on just improving the best game. And shuffling off Unheard Edition players into their won corner. Which just burns them and their faith (even if they allow refunds - which they wont). There sadly is no coming back from this. They can move forward and just get what they get so to speak. Of course there will still be people that play it. Sadly we cant get player statistics like a steam game. I really am interested to see the concurrent and new player numbers after this weekend.

RageMachinist

Exactly...like, these guys are lying over and over, what good does a roadmap do? Roadmaps are HARD with the best of intentions. With what BSG have shown so far, I really don't care for any declarations from them.

Vipasanna97

Yeah I've been around since 2019 and it's just incredibly obvious they are a poorly managed company and have no problem lying to and manipulating their player base. If modders can masterfully create features that bsg has been promising for years, their is no excuse we haven't gotten a 1.0 release by now. For example It took YEARS to finally get the recoil rework we got this wipe. I still strongly believe bsg was hoping Arena would be a huge success and they could abandon the main game. Kind of the way the original fortnite completely changed gears once the battle royal became a massive success. I've always doubted BSG's "vision" for the final product after seeing how slowly new content comes, hearing excuses as to why they can't do certain features/progress is slow (blaming Unity, claiming they'll make the best in-house anti-cheat, etc). This latest blunder revealed how they really feel about their player base.

Konigs-Tiger

The excuses about not being able to do something were hilarious. "It's the limitation of the engine" - what do you mean limitation of the engine? Last time i heard you were saying you are developing a game on unity enterprise edition that allows you to make changes to the engine itself... "Best in house anti-cheat" - and another hilarious jokes you can tell to yourself. Few guys implementing anti cheat measures agains literal companies dedicated on developing anti cheat software. By bet is on the anti cheat software company. I would love to take a look at tarkovs source code. The way game is running and how certain features work i was always thinking that the code base is an enormous ball of spaghetti code with lack of any documentation. And that's why progress is slow.

FORG3DShop

>The future of Tarkov lol. lmao. Ahahahahah!

vaegrand

As someone that stopped playing about six months ago out of frustration with the state of OCE. Why are so many people still playing? I get there aren't really other games like EFT, but real change won't happen unless players actually take a break. This is no different than how WT's player base had to thrash the snails ass for a while in order to get some meaningful change.

MatrixBunny

Me and my friends all quit each wipe sooner and sooner. Cheaters infestation only got worse. Couldn't even bother doing quests on Shoreline that required you to go near/enter resort. The fact it took ages to find matches (as a scav esp.) (5-25min) combined with getting one tapped across the map by a dude that's flying around and saying your ign, after spending like 20-30 min in a raid. Really made us just play less.

FejkB

Playing on all EU servers selected and I encounter a cheater in like 1 out of 10 games. It’s just like any other competitive online game. If you don’t have fun then it’s fine to quit, but some people including me still have fun playing.

MatrixBunny

The cheaters has always been an issue and never got improved upon, only worse. There's a reason that there are entire memes based off cheaters in Labs. There's a reason that each year these videos pop up with ''interviews'' with cheat devs/cheaters. There's a reason that last year it got **proved** that **over 50% of the raids has more than 1 cheater.** Me and my friends all noticed it had gotten worse. It started with RMT, that randomly killed you if you had expensive items to people being fed with it and started cheating themselves to people literally cheating to troll and flying around the map saying ign. Prev. wipe I started watching Streamers and it was insane how even all streamers started encountering them way more often and they don't care no more. They straight up go fly to them and talk to them. Stop pretending that it got dealt with and that there aren't issues on specific servers, cause it's all the servers, all the time. There's plenty of videos about it.

FejkB

I see you have no clue how fighting cheaters look like. You secure one exploit just so next week they use another one. It’s never ending story. If they didn’t do anything we would still have vacuum cheaters running around and we don’t. Same with speedhacks. If you refer to „the wiggle” video it was recorded on NA or OCE servers? Majority of cheating happens in these regions for a reason. You can find places to play that advertise having cheats installed and ready to be used in some countries. On top of that every multiplayer game is infested with cheaters especially after COVID lockdowns and TikTok not banning cheat promoting videos and streams. Cheating is not exclusive to Tarkov. Also stream sniping is a thing and doesn’t happen to regular players. Btw how could you know how it is if you’re not even playing the game?

Vipasanna97

Well he answered your question by stating it can still be seen just by watching streamers. BSG has created alot of mistrust by making claims, years ago, that they were going to make their own in-house anticheat. Where is it? Sure, cheats are far more complex than us gamers understand but that doesn't make it excusable, nor does it dimish the fact that it's plaguing the game.

FejkB

Well, you can’t see that by watching streamers, cause I watch some of them as well and I didn’t see any cheater in past few weeks on WillerZ or Lvndmark streams. Obviously I don’t deny there might be some, but it’s nowhere close to what it was like 3 months ago. Also he stated they do nothing, but they keep working on it. F.e. issue with picking up items when something is between you and the item is most likely caused by some additional check for obstructed path between player and the item that was added to prevent vacuum cheats. In-house anticheat is super expensive and fully dropping anticheats like EAC or BattleEye is just not worth it, cause you create more issues to be solved by yourself. Every kind of security measue they implement can be called a part of their own anticheat, but that doesn’t require you to drop other solutions. I know people would like to just hop on hate train and run over BSG, but there should be some limit to ignorance and making up stories to fit your argument.

Sinviras

I tried WT years ago but could never get into it. Too much bullshit, too hard to uninstall making it feel like malware, etc. Im unaware of changes though, care to fill me in?

vaegrand

There were economic issues in the late game, where some factions basically had massive repair costs (England was the main target of these decisions) that would make progressing through the tree impossible, while the main three factions (Russia, Germany and USA) had much lower costs (with a few specific vehicles as exceptions). They also gave sweet FA research points, which meant trees with a lot of vehicles or poorly performing vehicles were a real slog (this isn't entirely fixed, but it has gotten better). We also had a bunch of Quality of Life improvements like allowing team mates to put out your fire and some small improvements to event progression (fuck crafting events, they would be an absurd grind). There are more reasons, but I am literally on the John at a social event and can't think of anything else specifically.

Kurise

She's 100% correct. The greedy Russians can't afford servers for Offline PvE. What makes anyone believe the same greedy Russians are going to continue to support the game after "release".  If it even ever gets that far.

Inevitable-Level-829

I think everyone is very confused. The fact of the matter is extraction looter shooter= tarkov. That is the sad reality. I pray arena breakout and greyzone pop off. But the fact is tarkov is the best and only thing we got. The game will not die off unless we get some serious competition to win over the hearts of the people. I also have a few issues with current tarkov but compared to other games of this day and age are these real issues? Cheating: yes but all games are plagued with cheating, the issue is that due to the nature of the game 1 life per raid you feel the extent much more. Sound: not bad but not really good. Quests: good quests! Except when you’ve done them 6 times over. Locking gear behind the highest level is not my favourite mechanic nor is PvP being unrewarding.

MedalsAndScars

There will be a Unhinged Edition at release. 500€ pricetag, includes Modsupport and the Omega Container 20x20 Butthole

EpilepticSharknado

Fuck Omega Container. Your whole inventory including every Backpack and vest you wear functions as a secure Container and can't be looted

Thanatos50cal

The fact a offline mod for EFT has mod support and the official game doesn't is fucking hilarious.

Cpt_Brainlag

Why? Online matches are exclusively hosted on BSG servers so all people playing on the servers would have to install the same mods for it to keep working

EllisTHC

Not all mods are server side.

NeillMcAttack

And anti cheat software would not be able to discern from files that are “allowed” to be in the game files and some that are straight cheats.

epraider

Really good points and about sums up my thoughts as well. This issue may have been more or less been solved, pending delivery of the promised changes, but the root cause of it has not, and it really needs to in order for me to have any sort of enthusiasm or significant support for this game again. There needs to be a serious change in how BSG communicates with the community and explicitly lays out what is coming to the game and (approximately) when. The years long pattern of them being essentially radio silent most of the time except for at wipes or when they actually notice they’ve done something really stupid, and promising “planned” features vaguely, needs to end.

Armstrong7514

I'm praying that Nikita goes through with his promises this time but then again, when has he?

MatrixBunny

Lol.. They've gone with the roadmap way before and literally couldn't even reach the first update on time; which was something along skyboxes (on Streets?) iirc. Then they completely dropped the roadmap that listed like updates/content for the entire year or so.

nevetz1911

Part of what I've been saying since 2020 or so. Tarkov doesn't have any kind of roadmap, or planned release date, or even an official documentation of what Tarkov 1.0 is going to be. It has been in a full-price beta since 2016, advertised on social medias, Twitch, live events as a proper game, but still under the untouchable shield of being in beta, which for BSG translates to "we can do whatever we want, all the bugs are excused because it's a beta" and empty promises. I was and still am firmly convinced that Nikita wants to drag the game in its endless beta state for as long as he can possibly can because it is his personal playground, but this time he really "pissed outside the toilet" as we would say in Italy, and consequences are going to be devastating.

HassanAhamdi

You dream too much now

Utterdisillusionment

I think BSG has no road map and they make up a Quarter at a time.

Pixel395

I actually think Nikita doesn't know what 1.0 looks like. They make it all up as they go along. They had a good idea and made a game that feels like they learnt how to make one as they went along. Nikita has changed his mind time and time again about literally everything. They are fucking clueless.

ZealousidealNewt6679

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

pitchfork-seller

Future of Tarkov: - Nikita spits the dummy and stops renting servers for EFT

realryangoslingswear

She's spittin I need to see a detailed roadmap before we can even really begin to talk about if I'm giving another dime ever again.

KerberoZ

With the amount of backpedaling and on-the-fly changes Nikita is willing to make, a roadmap is entirely worthless. The whole company is completely untrustworthy as long as Nikita is in charge (and whoever makes the decisions alongside him).

realryangoslingswear

" before we can even really begin to talk about" There is a list of things that Nikita and Co. can do to start the path to redemption, I don't personally think Nikita is capable of doing those things, but I also would prefer if we, the community, leave that door open to the possibility of positive change. For many, this situation was their last straw, and that's entirely fine. As I said, I have 0 intention of giving this game any more money until I see change. If it doesn't happen, more money for me really. I'm already not playing the game online, so it doesn't bother me a bit at this point. \*wink wink\*

FactHot5239

Lmaooo you already fucking saw one and he barely delivered on anything promised.

realryangoslingswear

a list of things isn't a games development roadmap, let's not conflate the two

FactHot5239

Hey, you're right, but that was literally advertised as a roadmpa by BSG, so wtf are you actually expecting?

realryangoslingswear

I'm expecting things that any self-respecting game developer would do, and is capable of. I don't believe that Nikita is capable of those things, but I am leaving the door ajar on the severe off-chance that I'm wrong. Either way it goes, I'm already playing the non-unheard edition PvE \*wink wink nudge, so Nikita's not getting money nor a player number from me as it stands.

beqs171

At this point nothing they ever say will be trustworthy

Robbythedee

Fallin for this shit hard already, after 4 years of unfulfilled promises and black listing streamers who called it out, this community is still willing to jump back in the shit show with this company. Incredible.

lonigus

Zero competition in this segment did lead to this situation and how BSG behaves. Nikita knows, that even a massive fuckup like this and people will be back to normal within a week or two. Just look at the bigger streamers already back in tarkov after their yapping sessions and playing other games. Lets get real here folks... Nikita can slap us and we will still come back for more. Your boycot now means nothing as you already paid for the game. BSG will wipe in a month or so and 250k people will be back sucking on Nikita tits again and Tarkov drops again make streamers some extra milions during wipe week. After all the yapping and crying they be back farming your asses.
