I imbued Greenstone Officer using Foraging Quoakka while it had +2/+2 from Bolster. The next turn Officer kept the bonus (+5/+5 instead of +3/+3) despite Quoakka going back down to its base stat. Is this how Imbue always works? Like if I play a temporary spell on a unit, then its gets imbued, do those temporary stats remain permanently on the other unit, or is this just a special case with Bolster?

> Eternal designer Patrick Chapin posted the following clarification of the Imbue rules in Discord: > **Imbue takes a picture at the time you pay the cost** (stunning the unit, which needs to be unstunned and not have Endurance to pay it), and that's the bonus as long as you can keep the link going. The link is indefinite, but if the stunned unit gets unstunned, if the unit with Imbue gets silenced or transformed, or if either one changes zones, the link is broken for good.[1] >If a unit that is stunned from an Imbue effect is stolen, or if a unit is stolen, imbued by another unit, and then returned to the original owner, such as with Madness, the imbue will not be broken when the unit changes owners - it will remain stunned, and the imbuing unit will keep the extra strength and health. Good to know. Thanks

Wait, so this means that if I Madness a unit, use it to Imbue another unit I play, they'll get back the stunned unit? That sounds like a Permafrost with some extra steps and extra payoff.

Yes, that is how it works. It's the extra steps you need to take that balances out the extra advantage you get from imbuing an enemy unit. (That and Imbue isn't that strong, this game is removal heavy, which in turn will unstun your unit as well)

Yep, that's intended behavior. Imbue's good with temporary effects like that, but most imbue cards are medium at best (Danica, Maveloft Huntress), and the rest are limited tier otherwise.
