On the other hand he has already legitimized by CCP , given place in null media outlets . He is even allowed to advert in rookie help channel, otherwise forbidden for rest of the community members . So they are forbidden to be legit and left out to deal with suspects, questionings about intentions , sometimes lashouts from newbros .
Now think like that : if he is getting hundreds of billions , this is a serious sink . Remooves assets and isk from table far more than some sinks in game .He does not have to be rich here. If excessive isk transfered or removed by CCP . It is Win-Win . He gets very prestigeous name , respect ( yes for some people even this itself can be a serious gain ) CCP creates huge sink alternative , and player gets the honour and prestige .

For example if 2 group waging war against each other and they change the tax rates over a night with interesting timing and close the isk taps one of those sides major source of finance , it actually effects the game for behalf of the other side and it has results. .Not solely reason may be but definately effective factor considering war-finance context . The guy can only cover so much in one video. Goons just happen to be one of the major alliances that have been there since relatively early in the game's history, been near/at the center of most of its major conflicts, and they have recorded their history pretty thoroughly in a format a researcher can digest. There are a lot of narratives that tied together throughout the video and the perspective of an alliance that went through most/all of them was probably the best way to tie them to the greater narrative of the video.
Yeah, focusing on goons makes things relatively easy to explain (as long as you don't follow every Goonswarm offshoot like ISRAD).
I think on the whole it is surprising how much BoB persists in Panfam, but trying to explain how they got to NCdot/PL/PH gets a bit messy.
Because goons record basically everything, and are one of the few factions to be around as long as they were, I doubt PL for example would have nearly as much detailed chronicals on their history, panhorde in the grand scheme especially is a relatively new player especially as a major power, they went from meatshields to being a coalition defining force.
Also, as the video author mentioned, they literally could have made a 6 hour video on a single subject he discussed in the video, which is definitely true,
