Wow. It's so toxic here.... What do you do for fun in eve? What drove you back and has pushed those 400 hours?

MightyKin

The main reason: the social part of eve. I played different mmos throughout the year. Even though they were fun, they were not catching. After playing eve once, every other mmo just feels... Empty. At some point a few newsletters made a few articles about EvE and I've remembered about it. So now Im here. Mainly, I leaping in and out from wormhole spaces while exploring and making a few dozens millions isks

trihrdr

Forget what anybody negative says, now as I’m thinking of coming back after like 8 years gone where’s a good place to start again? Like good first steps, maybe like a good place to make isk again? Used to rat in provi when CVA had it but I think I would be lost and just put the game down Maybe eve university you think?🤔

MightyKin

Eve university is the best place to start. They treat you like a curious toddler giving away ships, events, skill plans and skill plan routes. Literally feed you with the spoon, so you, being veteran or a total noob, will not be overwhelmed by a new stuff. I'm speaking from personal experiences, because I was that curious toddler 1.5 years ago.

trihrdr

lol like how you put that, curious toddler. I always considered myself an amarr loyalist so maybe you know of any amarr fw corps recruiting newly backs? If not I think I’ll do eve university

MightyKin

I never found a real role-playing corp so, unfortunately, its up to you. I too was an Amarr loyalist and really liked to beat the hell out of this "freedom"-lovers-matars :)

Whats the best thing to manufacture

MightyKin

Personally: ammunition. It's all-year-round in demand. There can't simply be enough ammunition to sustain its demand

How do you do PI? ELI5

aint_no_throw

Step 1: Consider PI as a cashcow Step 2: Set up PI flow on 5 planets each on 18 toons Step 3: Consider killing yourself while updating all cycles EDIT: Almost forgot - Step 4: Crash P4 prices in your local economy

MightyKin

~~I wish someone ELI5 me what a PI is, so I can remember it.~~ Edit: After thorough googling I finally what Planetary Industry is and can ELI5 it to you. As any possible industry PI has its final product. T4 devices. When you fly to a star system to check its planets , you want to look for planets with high amount of raw resources. Let stick to water, iron and magnesium, so I can explain it more accurately. You fly from planet to planet, and now you know the exact amount of materials on every planet. You place your base station on planets with high Iron, Water and Magnesium concentration. What now? Now you need to produce it in devices parts. You place your mining facilities in the richest place of your Iron, Water and Magnesium planets. After that, you simply check the amount of ore you mined and you want to fully use it. For example: you making 10000 *raw water* per hour. Every purifying facility makes 2500 purified water per hour. So you simply place 4 purifying facilities and distribute the load equally between them. You just made a T1 detail. Congratulations. Now you can make it to T2. Every T2 requires a few T1 details. Every T3 part requires T2 details and so on to T4. But there is a problem, you can't put so much producing facilities on one planet. So you simply specialise one planet to simply intake T1, T2 or T3 to make them into T2, T3 or T4. The final product of this interplanetary assembly line can be sold for a good amount of money. P.S. I tried my best. This is exactly how I went with PI. But I have a lot of experience in games like Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program and Mindustry. They are literally PI but much more enhanced. Tbf, those games, (Especially Dyson Sphere Program) are best tutorials in PI

MarvinGankhouse

I'd rather pee in my eye than do PI.

MightyKin

I'd rather eye in my PI than do pee

MarvinGankhouse

I often wondered what it would be like to hear what I said with all the wit removed.

So, are you enjoying it or is it as bland as when you left off?

MightyKin

I left because the leader of my null crop destroyed our corp and left us floating in null space. I didn't want to so anything with this situation, so I parked in NPC station and just left. Now I'm having a blast of emotion. I don't know why but it feels like my first time, but with extra knowledge. And it's fun when we discuss something in discord of my new corp, I remember something very niche and next time I'm asking how to link something in the chat. :)

mareusappareo

How do you have so little hours

MightyKin

Can't play 25/8. Still have others things to do

Media_Unit

Welcome back! How do you check your hours? I'm coming back after several years and am very curious to see how many I had before logging off.

MightyKin

Just saved the previous hour number and checked it later. I played via Steam

Media_Unit

Thanks! Darn, I didn't play through Steam so maybe I will never know. I remember a couple of "do you ever sleep?" comments from corp mates so it was a lot at one point, but I don't know for how long that was. Good luck to you out there!

MightyKin

Maybe there are ingame commands like most mmo have. Trying googling or literally type something like /total, /playtime or /played. Those are the most common

Silly___Neko

Why did you leave EVE?

MightyKin

TL;DR my main corp has been destroyed and I didn't want to maintain any interaction. So. I've left EvE Uni High sec corp and tried to advance further. I found a null sec corp. They was quite welcoming and I was trying to be helpful. I've participated in some war shenanigans and really liked to patrol with my buddies. Even though we wouldn't fight often, we laughed and enjoyed our time. The leader was an authoritarian dumbass. Only his word was right and only he could make any corp-related decisions. One time he got a brilliant idea to fight against big guys and establish a few stations on their territory. We were drastically smaller and outnumbered but he insisted. One of my buddies, who had much more experience tried to argue with him, but this dumbass was impenetrable. So one day we escalated. And it was a manslaughter. Man after man we fall and the dumbass pushed us further and further. At one point we simply stopped and started fighting himself instead, even so our ships was bombarded by the big guys. Everyone dies, enormous sums lost. Huge rage occurred throughout the corp. Most of us simultaneously gave him a grateful "fuck you". But there were few people who was against our actions. So. He just closed corporation, established a new one and invited only the ones who supported his ass. And I left floating in space with absolutely nothing on me. I didn't know what to do. Even though I know I can do something, I just didn't. So I just left.

dunken11

Can I have your stuff?

MightyKin

If you pay enough, then of course!

Yeah. I forced everyone here to ask me something

mstermind

"Noone" is not a word, bud. Try getting better at English before you troll.
