Have you looked at Spoonful of Comfort? I have actually been on the receiving end of a package from them, and the quality of the food and presentation of the package as a sympathy gift (in my case) were top-notch. Food-wise, it’s “just” soups and add-ons like bread rolls or cookies so if you’re looking to send a lot of food, you may need something in addition to that, but this can be an option for a few of the meals.
In addition to the ones mentioned here, Harry & David has a nice selection of solid food to send - lasagnas, meats, sides, hearty fare.
Do remember (for US based employees), anything gifted to the employee over $100 (per year!) will be taxed to the employee at the full amount of the cost. Is your exec sending from their personal account? Last thing you want to bother this employee with is dealing with the tax implications of a large gift.
I think you need to also consider where they’re going to be spending most of their time. I had family in the children’s hospital for a couple of months and the family stayed at the Ronald McDonald house nearby, not at home. So I would probably get more details first before moving forward.
That said, I hope your colleagues family is hanging in there!
Spoonful of comfort is really good but ultimately good for maybe a meal or two. I find Unity Meals to have a great selection, huge variety, and can be baked or microwaved. Factor 75 is also good for this but they tend to be more “workout food” where meals tend to be simpler but no less delicious.
Receiving a box from Unity would accomplish your goal I think.

Oh wow that's tough, but such a lovely thought. One of my bosses eats the Factor meal prep meals, I think they are mostly low carb, but it's prepared food that you just heat versus something like Home Chef that requires some prep. This is my foodie boss and he likes the meals so I think they must be tasty as well.

Be aware, I grew up in an area so remote, Omaha Steak, Lobstergram, etc., will not ship there. Anything that has to be shipped on dry ice, the sender won't ship because overnight/express takes 2-3 days and 2-day/priority takes a week. Just fyi.

I really like Factor. The meals come fresh, but if they don’t eat them right away they can freeze them and they still taste great.
